Xbox One Backwards Compatibility Thread: Everyone wants it, no one uses it

Wow.
This protracted BC silence deserves a statement from Microsoft. ....Just a little something letting us know that more great games are on the way soon. Please.

I want Chronicles of Riddick to be backwards compatible. That and Mass Effect are the games that made me buy a Microsoft console. If this ever comes to BC, all the 360 games I still have will be working on my Xbone.

Did the US change to the summer time or whatever it's called there? Because we haven't yet (Italy) and it's usually in 45 minutes from now

Yeah they flipped the switch last weekend - maybe Major forgot to update his script you never know. If it's nothing again that's crazy.

It would be nice if they had 1st party games waiting in the wings in case there were no 3P games to release.. but then it would suck for them to be holding onto games that work without releasing them.

Guessing either nothing has passed cert lately, or 3P publishers are holding out for whatever reason.

Didn't expect anything so as not to feel let down.
Still feel let down...

I'll pretend all the back compat team are working on original xbox compatibility ready for e3

I guess I'll have to accept that I'll always need to keep my 360 around for some of the games in my library.

I seriously doubt that Wolfenstein (2009) will ever be BC.

Good write up.. that mostly covers 3P, I wonder what the holdup is with MS own games? Other than the already mentioned reasons, which I guess are legitimate as well.

i.e. holding Crackdown until Crackdown 3 is readying?

I appreciate the update. I've definitely cooled my jets since niche Japanese games got included; I'm happy with the state of the library now and I can be patient on new additions.

Yeah, it's a good response for 3rd party games, but doesn't explain why they can't talk about their own stuff. Fable being a huge one.

The sucks donkey balls. They can't even tell us which games they're working on lest they anger the publishers? BC should be a right, not another tool to give publishers absolute control on your purchases.

Thank God for PC.

LOL, BC a right? Tell me where its written in the constitution.

Woah there. BC is a a great pro-consumer feature and a nice feature to help differentiate your platform, but it is not a 'right.' I expect to be able to play my games on the platform I bought them for. Being able to play them on the next system is great, but I don't have a right to do so.

The PS4 not playing my PS1 and PS2 games is a shitty business move, but it is no way a violation of my 'rights.' Voting is a right. Not being held in jail without charges is a right.

BC is not a right. It was a generous feature added to the Xbox One. Microsoft did not need to do it.

If you are dying to play a Xbox 360 game, then play it on a Xbox 360.

What are you smoking?

Hasn't even been two full weeks since the last game on BC. Of course they don't wanna tell us everything and piss off publishers. Look how many games use BC games as pre order crap. Im sure there is other factors going on regarding BC releases. A right?? Please.

Seriously what are you smoking.

Well if they tell us the games they're working on, they'll also indirectly tell us the games they're not working on.

That leads to a lot of hate targetted towards certain publishers. Something I'm sure both MS & said publishers want to avoid. I mean shit, can you imagine the hate if BO2 wasn't among the games they're working on?

There's a lot of reasons they won't give a list of games they're working on, but would like if they would tease us a little with games coming in the near future like they did before (only actually release them soon, and not 1+ year later :P). But that's more of a curiosity thing, they don't have to do that nor do I expect them to.
