Xbox One will be Number One in Sales

Judging by my Facebook friends I'm scared he's right. Dudebros just dont give a shit about anything we care about.

This is just it. All my "real" friends didn't even know about the PS4 event. Not showing the console was a mistake, in my opinion.

Today all my friends are going ape-shit over the XONE stuff... FANTASY FOOTBALL!! YES!!

smh

When E3 is said and done, I think that the core functionalities of PSN remaining free will be a huge selling factor for the PS4. No longer can you justify the XBLG paywall by saying that PSN is an awful service, because they're on par now.

Not to mention that PS+ wipes the floor with XBLG as a subscription service.

i don't see sony taking de crown in EEUU once again soon, xbox one will dominate this holiday season in the states, que marketing campaign will be huge

Dudebros played Grand Theft Auto, Madden, and Tony Hawk on the PlayStation 2 back in the day. I don't think they can be counted on as a core demographic. They'll gravitate to whichever console has the natural mainstream buzz.

Fucking despise posts like this. Should be ban worthy.

Why are so many people saying the 360 is on last place? Are people holding on on fake news or did something new happen?
If what we've heard recently sales numbers wise is true it's technically true on a global scale, but it's only because the Wii was a crazy casual success and the PS3 is only ahead by a few million. It flips around between countries/regions, and Japan aside it's close enough to equal in most areas, so I'd say it's basically a tie. Think we had similar happen with the SNES/Genesis come to think of it, Genesis debuting a year earlier and being in the lead for a long while with better EA support, but the SNES ultimately beating it in the end.

... Yeah, that is not a great comparison for X1.

Most likely. I don't care... if they don't change or clarify this stuff very specifically they won't have my wallet this generation on premise.

PS always dominates Europe, MS stands no chance now especially without a headstart. japan is locked too for Sony so US is the best chance for MS. Even then there is no headstart so lets see how it goes.

Power of Dudebro
The biggest franchises out there will be on One. Some of them will be on the PS4, sure, but there's nowhere else where you'll find Halo, COD, Gears, Madden, etc. all on one console.

Weird argument to make. Halo and Gears are small fries compared to Call of Duty and Madden, which will both be on Playstation along with a ton of exclusive Sony franchises... even some dudebro ones like God of War.

*bookmarked*

Everyone is piling on the One and hoping the hate will be a self-fulfilling prophecy so we can be closer to the one console future everyone seems to want. I'm just saying, that ain't happening...

sure it's my prediction, but it is a highly logical one. Just because you hate something now, doesn't mean it won't do well or even exceed your expectations... by a lot.

Wanna do an account bet then ?

How about 5 years from now OP ? Or 3 ?

OT: Don't know a single person interested on the One (besides me), and Brazilian's mainstream tech news are all over how used games are fucked (even before MSFT confirms anything).

In the USA, sure, that's the only place that will have access to the console's feature set at launch.

World wide? Lol, no. Even if the reports of sales are not 100% spot on, between the fact that there was mass RRODing and the PS3 coming out a year behind, them being anywhere close in sales is Microsoft's loss.

We need specifics here. Timeframe/lifetime? World sales or USA only? The price of the consoles and the price of their online services will be decisive and those being unknown I won't make any prediction yet.

I'm very surprised at the 180 degree MSFT turned the last years (Kinect, Xbox ONE, Windows 8, Office 365, and I don't know if something else).

Just like EA, they made a HUGE effort to not be seen as evil with the Xbox360, Win 7, etc, but it's like they want to destroy all the goodwill they earned with years of hard work.

In the US sure. The conference was basically a scream to dudebros (which there are a whole fucking lot of here in the US). SPORTS COD SPORTS COD SPORTS COD WITH SPORTS WHILE YOU SPORT YOUR SPORT. ORDER PIZZA HUT FUCK YEAH>

See the thing that is going to make this an even more uphill battle for Microsoft this time around, is that Microsoft is already cutting off millions of gamers who purchased a 360, simply because they don't have internet. This is going to matter. I think the novelty of Kinect has worn off, they can't sell it as a simply more advanced Kinect. They are going to need some application that has Wii Sports/Fit type success, the TV features are going to have to be a really huge hit, or they're going to have take an even larger stake of gamers from Sony in the next generation to really excel. I can see them pulling a good portion of gamers in the US. But honestly thats it.

Based off of what?

it being the more powerful system that doesn't require you install every game or be online at least once a day. based off of that. multiplatform games generally looked better on 360. they will generally look better on PS4.

it's just a prediction though, naturally. just like the OP.

The 360 is set up to finish 3rd in total sales this generation because Microsoft has nothing for Europe and Japan. Xbox One is set up to be even more focused on America, and it won't have the benefit of having the best versions of multiplatform games on it anymore.

XOne looks to me clearly set up for third overall. Wii U will pick up steam once we get some bigger Nintendo exclusives and the price drops (just like the 3DS), and the PS4 is currently looking like a fucking home run aimed directly at gamers. This is assuming Sony doesn't shit the bed at E3, which is totally possible.

Even though you have to go through an extensive waiting period just to be approved for GAF, it still has a ton of raving fanboys on here. lol

This isn't so much about fanboyism as it is about realism.

Compare market share figures for software and hardware and total $$$ spent during the last two generations and you will realize my point with Microsoft. Whether you're talking NA or worldwide, the piece of those pies that Microsoft has garnered should impress even the most stubborn sales-age GAF'er.

Let's talk about "consensus" NeoGAF for a moment while we stroll down memory lane. Consensus GAF said 360 would be lucky to break 40 mil before it launched. Now we're talking about 80 million and possibly much more if the Mini is real. C-GAF believed Sony when they said they would release shortly after the 360. Whoops, they were only off by a year. C-GAF also believed the PS3 would be an order of magnitude more powerful than the 360. Whoops again. See where I'm going here?

Now C-GAF is saying X1 will go the way of the Wii-U and PS4 will be the white knight of this generation with their free online play and lack of used game blocking. Let's see if C-GAF can keep up its impeccable record ;)

It's not weird when you consider the fact that they sell disproportionately well on Microsoft's platform.

Yes, I'm glad it's obvious because it was quite a shocker to me. The 360 and Windows 7 seemed like this all new Microsoft that was hitting all the right notes, than some time around Kinect, things seem to go in an all new and terrible direction, not just on their gaming front.

Like they lost touch with people who use their products.
