On the S, with it's large fan, the holes create airflow in and out of the guts of the console. With a vapor chamber and a blower fan, you don't want airflow escaping at multiple points on the chassis, you want it directed solely out of the blower fan exhaust point.

Is the problem that the video will stutter a few during a movie? If so, I have now witnessed this issue a few times and it is really annoying! I now also hope we see improved UHD playback with the X.

Correct. It is silkscreen printed ink. Where points of ink are pushed through a screen with a pattern onto the console surface and then UV light cured for long term permanence.

Extremely durable

Sure, but we weren't expecting actual holes that serve no purpose. Much of the vent design on the S are closed. They're just machined dots.

I can see through into the guts trough the holes on my S on both sides and half of the top. They are definitely providing air flow.

Right, and not all of them are actual ventilation holes. The front in particular are only tiny dots. You own one so I feel like you should know this?

The only non vent dots on the S is half of the front of the chassis. So it's not the front in particular, it's only half the front.

You know, it feels like we're not having a forward moving conversation here. The only vent holes on the topside of this picture is in the obvious circle.

Anyway, the point is the Scorpio Edition's printed pattern looks cheap compared to the machined design of the S. The S also shows you don't need actual ventilation holes to emulate its look.

Why do people keep asking about a sticker? There is no sticker. The Scorpio edition has a fake texture printed onto it. Let's just let this one go.

There are no stickers used on those parts of the system or controller. Anyone that's owned any of the limited edition Xbox's knows they print these as if they are painted onto the console itself just like almost all others of its kind. This is the manufacturer that used laser etching for those Gears 4 XB1S's; they aren't going to skimp on applying a screen print.

In short, you won't be able to just rub your hand over this and get it to peel off.

Pre-ordered a One X but my TV being a Samsung UE55HU7505 I'm good for 4K, and it supports 10-bit colour, plus full RGB, but not HDR. Anybody else in the same boat?

I've seen 4K Forza Horizon 3 on PC at a friend and the resolution alone is a huge boost so I'm certain I'll benefit. I'm just wanting to see the OLED's drop a bit before jumping on a 4K with HDR.

HDR and 10-bit colour are the same thing. It can probably accept the signal but doesn't have a 10-bit panel, so can't display it.

Yeah, I could shell out a large sum of money to buy a Evolution Kit to accept HDR and force it to my screen, but it's not going to be full HDR as the panel won't display it 100%.

I recently watched Ghost In The Shell on UHD and the picture was incredibly sharp, I'm happy with it so long. I'll just save up some money and maybe check out my options next year, plus I need to work on easing my wife into the idea of going from 55" to 65", lol

Really hoping to have information on normal pre-orders soon. I wanna get one locked in with Gamestop so I can pick it up after work on launch day with no issues!

In regards to Gamestop, when the "Project Scorpio edition" pre-orders went up, there was a weird ad on their site about getting a "coupon" for an Xbox One trade in come November. I couldn't find any details about it nor did I see any place to sign up for the coupon. Does anyone know about that? I'd love to have a guaranteed (and easy) $150 for my One S.

My kids are mad at me and will be for the next 2 months. I sold my old XBONE that I had in their playroom to put toward my Scorpio. I'm sure they'll be happy again once they get my One S on their TV.

Amazon gave me $127 for the trade in and I couldn't resist.

Here's a random question: is there anything special about the HDMI cable included with the XBX relative to the one that came with the original Xbone? I ask because the back of my tv is a jungle of video cables and power cords. If I could just leave the cable in place and swap out Xboxes, that would be swell.

Ultimately if there are features of HDMI 2.1 you want to use and you have a tv that supports them, like dynamic HDR, you'll need to update to a 48gb HDMI cable eventually. You should be good for a while though.

Check eBay. I got my SEK-3500 for my HU9000 for more than half off.

Thanks for the tip. I emailed Samsung though and yes I'll be able to input HDR to my TV, but the output on the screen won't be. So I'm going to save the money towards a proper HDR set next year!

In the meantime I'll just have to enjoy 4K boost only!

I was tempted with trading in my XB1 but it's in constant use with my housemates. Not sure they would make it without Fifa and Starwars. Haha.

My kids currently use my Day One X1. I have an S in my study.

I would've traded in my Day One if my kids weren't using it. But seems a bit mean to remove their gaming until they finally get my S.

So I'll just sell my spare Xbox One once I've got my X.

I'm gifting my OG Xbox to my niece when I get the Scorpio. I think that my brother in law will put it away until Christmas. She's Minecraft mad. So thrilled for her!
