I will turn the console on via controller (pushing the Xbox button in the middle). It'll power on the Xbox, but then the Xbox won't recognize the controller (as if it's not paired, and yet it literally just turned the Xbox on).

If I turn on a 2nd controller, it works fine, but to get the original one working I have to power cycle the whole console. I don't remember this issue happening with the One X, but this happens like once a day on the Series X now and it's annoying as hell. I keep 2 controllers with me just in case (and because I'm lazy).

My Xbone has done this since I got it in 2013. I can turn it on with the controller but on occasion it would immediately start flashing and I'd have to plug it in using a USB cable for it to register.

Agreed. I bought Torchlight 3 the last time it was on sale. It’s totally fine, but not a game to be super excited about unless you are dying to play a more humorous Diablo clone.

I’m hoping to finish Gears 5 today. I’ve been blown away at various times by the lighting, detail on weapons and armour....and that red sand that features in Act 3 is mesmerizing at times. I’m having difficulty wrapping my head around pretty much everyone saying that Hivebusters is even better looking. I really have no idea what’s going on in terms of the story, probably should have tried to give the entire Gears series another play through....and this relates to the rest of my post.

I’m getting the sense that I’m not getting through games fast enough and that my backlog will only grow, and not diminish as was my plan to prepare for the inevitable supply of Xbox exclusives to come. Still haven’t played Valhalla and Cyberpunk - though I’m fine waiting until they are patched to their full potentials. Doom Eternal, Control, State of Decay 2, MCC, Skyrim at 60fps and Sea of Thieves are all Gamepass things I want to get into. Oh yeah, then there is supposed to be an upgraded-for-next-gen Witcher 3 coming. I’ve barely even looked at the EA play stuff yet. Then something like Immortals Fenyx Rising appears sort of out of nowhere and seems like something I’d like.

I will say that I played a few hours of Dragon Quest XI on Game Pass and while I can appreciate it’s quality....I don’t think the cutesy graphics or the repetitive combat are for me anymore. So that’s one thing removed from my game stack. It’s starting to look like I’ll have to make some tough decisions and leave certain things unplaced. Even retired as I am I simply can’t play all of this stuff. I don’t know how the Colteastwood’s of the world are putting hundreds of hours into Valhalla AND Cyberpunk...and from what I understand still holds down a job.

Edit: forgot to mention the Yakuza games. I think the lot of them are coming to Game Pass soon?

Yes. Sometimes we even pre-arrange the fights and don’t go to the actual football matches. Then when the pigs come to try and break it up we kick their heads in too.

Then we all go home for a nice cup of tea and sing songs while someone plays the piano.

I still got GOW rare LE sealed and brand spanking new. One of these couple months ago sold for $1k @ebay..cray-cray.

Throughout S|XS cycle no doubt we will see insane LEs consoles get released.

I'm in the same boat and even have a lot of the same games as you in my backlog. When the XGS exclusives start dropping the majority of them aren't going to be little 10-12 hour 1 and done 3rd person cinematic movie games. A lot of big meaty RPGS and since I love to explore every corner I spend a lot of time on each one.

Also on the same page as you on DQXI, just not as politely. WTF is all the love for this crappy game about??? It's boring, repetitious, really boring and stupid combat, horrible voice acting, dumb story, cartoon graphics, overall there is nothing for me to like about this game. How did this thing get such a high MC score (92) outscoring great games like Gears 5, Ori, Hivebusters etc? I'm still playing it because I'm waiting for my copy of Valhalla to come on Friday and don't want to start an actual good game and then have to drop it.

I bet everyone outside of the U.K. read that as a joke 😂😂, it’s all true, except for the sing songs around a piano part.

I was there in the audience. I fell in love with Xbox that night even though the games I saw the next day at CES didn't appeal at all to me; shooters (Halo) and racing games I think. I was into MMORPGs on PC and JRPGs back then.

It's interesting how things can change. Today Halo is my favorite series, I have no interest in MMOs anymore and I actively dislike JRPGs

I am not sure how this could be boring, I mean if you get stuck trying a EU to US 747 trip in real time and you disappear for 7 hours then maybe your family might find it boring, but with these kind of visuals I am not sure how players could find it boring. It is a system seller title IMHO.

I'm one of those gamers. I don't think I really want to play FS2020 but I want all of you people to do get into it to make an OT and fill it with your amazing screenshots and videos. I spent hours going through the photos and videos in the PC OT when the game first came out.

The videos of gamers flying into that big hurricane (can't remember the name) in real time was so beautiful and so amazing. No other game comes close to the tech and graphics of FS2020. I just hope it still looks amazing on the Series X.
