XboxEvent.com just registered by the same company that did Xbox's E3 presentations

What else do they have to hype? No big retail games. No big downloadable games. Gears is pretty much all they got on 360 this year. Based on their early 360 marketing this year, they appear to be more interested in pushing third party games playable on the 360 to promote their console. I hope it's news about the next Xbox, because news about the current one is pretty damn dry.

Because no other development team in the world has ever lost people. They've all stayed together and released consistently high quality games all the time. Every time.

State of Decay is their next big game

I agree with this. When they were making shitty Nintendo knock-offs with crappy framerates, I wasn't a fan. Viva Pinata made me a fan, but it didn't last long.

State of decay, Ascend new gods and Loco cycle are pretty big

XBLA games, they all suck basically.
Harsh realities we face, everything that isn't AAA doesn't mean anything anymore smh

You are walking dangerously close to the "XBLA games don't matter as much and don't count" argument this forum seems to go through every week.

Never said it's a bad game, but if Microsoft is touting it as the next big thing from them, IMO, it's nowhere close to being enough. We desperately need some big IPs, both new and familiar from them, stat.

system has been out for almost 8 years.. and a new one is around the corner XBLA and 3rd parties will be the future of it.

Of those, I've only heard of Loco. But that's because I love that developer's games. But just because I don't know about them doesn't mean they wont be great. I have a hard drive full of great XBLA games, so a few more will be welcome. XBLA has for me been the highlight of this current generation.

Ascend and State of decay both look promising

Ascend is the FTP always online game that connects player in a world. The game isn't based on micro-transactions either. It sounds to me they want the multiplayer to be sort of like dark souls.

Yes, an unfounded rumor.

Most believed it false anyway, Microsoft will make their own Xbox event, they won't relinquish spotlight for a ho-hum unveil at GDC.
I thought it was a separate event still, but around or preceding GDC to allow devs to talk about it at GDC.

But I guess that doesn't matter if its unfounded.

Shame that the Rare we once loved died a long time ago, otherwise might be excited.

Don't know why this keeps being peddled.

I'm still trying to think of one bad game Rare has made this gen that means we shouldn't love them anymore.

Banjo? Awesome
Kameo? Great
Viva Piñata? Awesome
Perfect Dark....well, it was pretty cool at the time but I admit is now veeeeeery dated.
Kinect Sports? Both a at the very least serviceable for what they are

I think people forget that Rare hasn't really changed, but the market has.

They lost a lot of their veteran devs when the studio switched to kinect development. There's barely any pre-xbox era devs or even early 360-era devs left at the studio.

That does however not mean that current Rare are not capable of great things. It just means that they're different from the Rare that we knew and loved.

This pretty much.

how did the remake sell? i doubt it did that well i would love to see a new conker over banjo anyday

Not sure but it released a couple of months before xbox 360. It's not the best measuring stick since it was a remake of an existing game and late in the cycle. Maybe they can get 4j studios to put conker on xbla.

They should make a double pack with both the original version and the Xbox remake. I'd buy it.

Also, regarding Rare IP's. Micorosoft owns them now. Just because they own Rare AND the IP's, doesn't mean Rare has to make the IP's, if you catch my drift.

I could see Banjo return on XBLA, but possibly made by somebody else like Twisted Pixel.

I'd love to see Twisted Pixel handle Banjokazooie, but they seem to be dead set on creating new IPs. They've made five games for the 360, and only one of them is a sequel. Plus they've working on yet another new IP.

Give them five more years and they'll have enough unique characters to create a Smash Bros clone. :p
