Xenoblade X import videos/streams thread

Watching stream and those vids in OP really this game looks great. Funny how people can get worked over one costume in huge game, but I know that's not going to stop me.
I currently don't have Wii U yet, is there any good sales for it in EU or should I wait till the game releases for bundle maybe?

The problem is that they are giving you the choice to dress up children like that. But lol at your righteously indignant reply.

If Xenoblade 1 is anything to go by, they'll give you the choice to unequip all her clothes and let her run with only her underwear on. Like every other character in the game.

You literally couldn't tell her age by looking at her charactermodel. This whole thing is so silly.

Thanks, guys. Now, another question. What is the importance of the city? Will I be there a lot, and what will I be doing there?

NLA houses all the important management stuff. Your shops, your garage where you buy, maintain, upgrade, customize your Skells, your BLADE home area which is basically your "hosue" and all the guild offices where you recruit the respective party members and accept all kinds of quests plus you can accept quests from civilians in the town, too.

So he can fight with your party, you just won't get the option to directly control him?

No, Tatsu is not a combat character, he is just a travel companion. He is not involved in any combat stuff.

I thought Tots was the quest tracker? The red ball that flys out to your quest objective, think they said that in the English showcase.

He isn't physically that thing. He just gives the Nav Ball to you. It's Nopon-tech or something like that.

I enjoyed this forum a lot more when we could just enjoy talking about games and not get into arguments and derail threads. It becomes harder and harder to do so lately.

The outfit isn't cool but its player choice at the end of the day. No need for name calling or calling for boycots and shit. Its not that serious.

Im also getting the feeling the whole town is going to be upgradable colony 6 style.

You guys realize all the armor in the first xenoblade was cross compatible and the actual design changed to something of that character's style. Your model simplicity excuse doesn't fly. Why are you so quick to defend it, anyways?

Look, XC is one of my favourite games and I'm absolutely going to buy XCX on day one, but that doesn't mean that this decision and this representation of a 13 year old girl is acceptable. Just more gross shit that slowly drives more and more people away from Japanese games and it's a shame to see companies who would otherwise not have bothered with it in the early days of jrpg popularity suddenly having these elements (no matter how small) in every major release.

You could grab the Splatoon bundle next month.

I agree. Apologies for bringing it up again.

Edit:

Goddam, the music in Johndoe's stream. It's growing on me.

The sexualization shit is really annoying in every thread. The outfit is optional, there will be a lot armor sets like in Xenoblade 1, there are more important aspects to the game, get over yourselves please. By whining about it, you're not exactly highlighting yourself as a bastion of morality.

Anyway the areas look incredible, plus great music as always. The chorus at 4:03 in the Noctilum video is so good. Is it coming out Fall over here?

Is this from The Three Stooges?

Game is looking sexy though.

I think that much is certain, considering it is in a process of rebuilding when you start the game with a whole section missing. The alien attack they teased during the Doll/Battle presentation will surely wreck the city a bit, too. Maybe the big countdown thing on the tower is related to that.

I think it's also because the original game had only 7 characters, which 3 were female and they could take their time designing specific armors for them. Also, most of them were just recolors of old armors.

But in this game it's a million different characters, so they don't have the time or resources for that.

Japanese devs generally seem to be pervy. Even some of Nintendo's staff have not been completely resistant to, albeit still no where near as big offenders as some infamous game studios.

So how much did the cities in XB change as you developed them? I never finished that. If NLA grows some bustling skyscrapers that'll be awesome.

Xenoblade chronicles only had about five outfits per character, with everything else being different color combinations. This game has thousands of unique gear peices, it is a false equivilance, not even considering the vast majority of these armors will be altered for the localised release like they always are.

But holy shit is this obsession getting creepy. You guys are really beginning to protest too much.

I wouldnt let you guys around my kids.

This game looks so fantastic in every aspect.

Regarding the outfits ... I would not care if all characters would running butt naked around. I am not offended or stimulated by this. Young girls in a bikini are not automatically a "sex object" as they seem to be for some other here. But this seems to be a a cultural difference: The US version will likely be censored.

Gameplay mechanics seems so highly sophisticated it is almost unbelievable.

Yeah just I'm still gking to get the game day one and enjoy it, but it doesn't mean I can't criticize dumb decisions.

Like everyone has said, I'll avoid the outfits, sand way I did in xeno.

It's just annoying when one of those outfits had the best stats available.

If its a fully optional outfit, I really don't mind. If it happens to be a major upgrade or even a plot item, then it could be an issue.

Sure some love to titillate themselves when playing games but for those that just want to get on with a great story and epic gameplay, the option is still there.

In the postgame you'll be able to apply whatever design you want to any armor.

It's not an unavoidable situation. If you are going to have a child character in the game, don't sexualize her. If you are going to have sexy clothes in the game, don't make 13 year old characters. It's not really that unreasonable. Yes, I can avoid it. Just like I could avoid looking up the skirts of the girls in FFType 0, but that's not the point.

So he's the Rise of this game. Bleh. lol

But seriously, would it be possible that he can give like stat bonuses during fights or is that also a no go? Seems kind of meh to just have him follow and not really do much else.

Ignore them
(I know it's difficult but that's why blacklist exist)
, they won't stop as long as we reply to them.
We already told them to be reasonable but they can't because a wiki said 13 years old girl. (If it weren't for that number...)
Let's focus on the streams. That's the best we could do : commnicate our love for the game and share it.

So how much did the cities in XB change as you developed them? I never finished that. If NLA grows some bustling skyscrapers that'll be awesome.

That only affected Colony 6 which you actively were involved in rebuilding from scratch into a bustling (small-ish) city. All the other cities just had characters move in and out.

Try reading the thread? Or even the responses to your own posts. There are more recruitable characters in this than in xenoblade, and your avatar (and avatars you recruit) have variable body sizes. With just 7 characters they could model variations of each piece of equipment, but that's not viable with more character and more equipment, and they already need an equipment-scaling system because of the custom avatars. Monolith's choice was common sense.

Why are you so quick to defend it, anyways?
Why are you so quick to rather openly accuse people you don't know of being pedophiles because they disagree with you? Like, holy crap, man.

Or we could have a more diverse cast and more diverse options, and people who don't like some of those options being used on one of those cast members will be easily capable of avoiding it. Yeah, that sounds good.

People not having a problem with Lyn's outfit aren't automatically pedophiles. Some of you jump to conclusions and generalize way too easily.

It's indeed awkward that outfits that were probably designed for a mature avatar also scale to fit Lyn, as well as showcase her body in ways that aren't appropriate for a 13 year old girl. However it's all the choice of the player and these lewd outfits are amongst a wide selection of other outfits that don't show skin. You as a player have the choice of how you want to present Lyn, her character and strong persona stands separate from her look and I appreciate that. Should her outfits get censored or her age raised? I wouldn't mind, but I also won't put her in those outfits if I get the game so it doesn't even bother me. That's how I feel about it.

This is probably happening because Lyn has a type of body associated with her. With all these character and all the customization options they probably didn't bother to create specific looks for each party member. All the armours being available for all the characters, including the one custom created by the players is something that generated this possible combination.

This comment is also valid for this:

I hope they censor every bit of skin in the NA version, so we can have a nice OT and not have few outrage threads about this.

He doesn't do anything. You just fell more complete and loved once he's with you. Because he's such a fluffy nice potatomo.

Maybe we can make spin-off OTs. Like a |Sexualization Outrage OT| or a |Graphics Outrage OT| where only ninjablade and his buddy will post.

In this game, there are company which develop equipment depending of the equipments you use, so I doubt you can have skimpy outfit with high stat if you never play with them.

He's there following you for a very important reason.
As an emergency ration.

So you're saying...and I don't want to mess this up:

If someone doesn't like some outfits in the game, they secretly really do, so much so that they shouldnt be trusted around children?

I have no issues at all then!

Just announce the US/EU date already dammit!

That navball goes to whatever mission you have selected right?

So it will lead you directly to npc's you need to find to complete quests?

Saw the costume in question, it's a bit problematic.
I'm hoping Nintendo pulls a BD:FF and either removes the outfit or changes the age (or both) when they localize it.
Like, why would they edit BD:FF when the outfit was part of the story while not editing this?
It's fine for a Japanese release, and I'd still buy it day 1, but it's best to remove it to avoid the drama.

So I'm watching M3ep's stream and I think he actually made a good looking avatar. Though I think the irises could be a bit smaller.

He doesn't do anything. You just fell more complete and loved once he's with you. Because he's such a fluffy nice potatomo.

I guess I'll just use my imagination and think he's cheering on the side while we're battling > <

Wasn't the first Xenoblade's new game plus mode kind of pointless because of how overpowered you were? You may as well just finish killing off the level. 100+ unique monsters before you beat the final boss in the game.

Seemed so from what they've shown. I forget but did they say whether we can set custom way points? I don't remember if we could do that in Xenoblade.
