So I just got this game and its my first in the series, loving it so far, reminds me of Shenmue so much.
Question, I keep hearing beeping when I walk around sometimes, and I have no idea what it signifies.
How exactly do you go about unlocking the erotic videos? I'm asking for a friend!
Ah so I'll just stick to seeking out substories and hope I come across some. Thanks!I'm in chapter 2 and I've unlocked one video by happening upon a substory and completing it. It was the dominatrix one ... I walked by an S&M club kinda in the center of Kamurocho, just north of the Nakamichi Alley area. After finishing it, the game told me I unlocked a video for the girl who I helped during the substory. I haven't checked it out yet ... I have stuff to sell at the pawn shop!

I have picked up at least one card but I didn't know it was tied to the videos. I'll give that a try also.Do you mean the gravure model videos?
I think I unlocked some of those by finding cards on the floor, they are all scattered about the map in different locations. You pick up a card and then it unlocks the video in the erotic store.
Also, what does it mean when you hear a sound and the minimap circle glows yellow for a second, or is that what you're talking about? I'm only in chapter 1.

I think that means your objective is now on the mini map (the exact location not just the direction)Also, what does it mean when you hear a sound and the minimap circle glows yellow for a second, or is that what you're talking about? I'm only in chapter 1.

I just did the dominatrix mission in front of my wife I was cracking up the whole time her review after it ended: "one of the most bizarre things I've ever seen, 10 for effort though"
sure-a-peepee
i'm trying to figure out what exactly the slugger training does for majima-- it's unlocking abilities that are called "weapon training" for different weapon types, but i don't really understand what that means? does it mean i can just equip that weapon type under the equipment menu and i otherwise wouldn't be able to, or is it gonna make enemies start dropping these weapons so i can pick them up, or are there some secret slugger style moves i haven't found that are gonna have me busting out some nunchuks?
Tell me about it.Made me chuckle that, was great Really makes me want to play Yakuza 1 again as well, roll on summertime for Kiwami!
Thatbit in Chapter 4 was not that good...escort
Story is great though!
Edit: I'm so glad they put in "Last time with Kiryu" bits before changing characters.
Does this game not install to the PS4? I inserted it and didn't notice the install start, just went straight to playing it. Am I missing something?
For unlocking the gravure videos, here's a list (in Japanese)

Most are tied to sub stories, but you also unlock them through telephone clubs, and by meeting the girls at various locations. (Eg the Karaoke girl).

He showed up for me last night when I had less than 10 million and he had over 100 million. I thought you might need to have a minimum amount before he would bother you, but if he does it seems like it's lowDoes Mr. Shakedown show up if you're low on money?
Yep. I had like 600k and he showed up with 99mil! And of course he beat me...Does Mr. Shakedown show up if you're low on money?

Had the same problem. Managed to do it with Slugger.
I'd only completed about 75% of the collectables/objectives etc when I stopped playing and I have no idea what you're talking about. hahaha
Nope, don't recall anything like that happening in 0. Then again, chases have thankfully been dropped after Ishin (which ironically did chases far better than the rest of the series up to this point). 6 has a couple of entertaining "chases" though not in the style of 3-5.
For everyone who is enjoying the arcade games, I encourage you to check out the SEGA 3D Classics Series for 3DS. The arcade games in Y0 are from the same company, M2, who does the large majority of SEGAs classic game porting work. Check out the blogs about the series. They are infinitely fascinating.
Of course, Space Harrier, Outrun, Super Hang on, and Fantasy Zone all have 3D versions. As do Streets of Rage I and II.
