Man I thought 0 had bad gender politics. Kiwami is fucking atrocious in its treatment and depiction of women. This game's rapidly turning me off. The story is a meandering mess too (chapter 8).

i beat one of them at darts and it gave me a dartboard with a list of prizes, most were items, but one was labeled one night in a hotel and was the hardest one to get
i couldnt get it so i just gave up

It pervades every aspect of the series' story and themes. Games are not for you.
i've played the same games as you, i thought reina was going to be in all the games, as the save/safe place, possibly a love interest as the hot older lady. wish she didn't die, i would of liked that. i guess this is a series where they will kill off characters a ton, so i'm prepared for it i guess. i've always hated japanese storytelling, so i hope they don't go too crazy. i've loved yakuza 0 and kiwami stories.
i loved how they completely glanced over kazama killing kiryu's parents, he was just like oh ok.

Started playing this today, first Yakuza game I've ever played. Knew almost nothing about it going in but I'm glad to say I'm enjoying it so far. Didn't expect it to be so cutscenes heavy, not that I mind though.
I'm a bit confused with the fighting system. Is one of the styles better then the others depending on the fight or should you just choose one based on personal preference? If I hadn't stacked up on food, I would've had a really hard time with the fights, even early on.

i just played whatever style i liked the most, but if i had trouble with a boss or something, i would switch, like if the boss is really fast and dodges a ton, you probably don't want to be beast and be really slow and easy to dodge, you want to be fast/rush.
there is a pretty hard boss at chapter 3 i believe, lots of complaints in this thread if that is what you are referring to.
there is a CP point for using all the styles to kill xx amount of guys so i switch it up to do that for the random fights.
I'm in chapter 4 right now so I beat him. First try too, but used a lot of healing items and it took a while, so I was wondering if I was doing something wrong.
Also, any advice on what abilities to get? I mostly just increased health so far.

okay quick question: i'm gonna be traveling this labor day, so how do I take the save file from this Ps4 to my other Ps4? I know there's some cloud feature I can use here

Pretty early on still but Majima seems to be the best character again this game.
If you have PS+, make sure to upload the recent save file (settings > save data) ir from settings before you launch the game I think too.
Then in the others PS4, settings > save data download.
Or you can use flash memory.
Make sure to use heat action finishers, when the boss takes few seconds to increase his HP.
Use the same fighting style with the glowing color.
You vet them from souls abilities, cost 3 each for every style.
I prefer Beast if I'm against 3+ enemies, Brawler against 1, usually bosses, and Rush if I'm fighting someone fast, I don't like Rush much.

The series is kind of a roller-coaster in this department, some games are okay while others are awful at it, but this one in particular is a remake of a 12 year old game so... Yeah. Are you bothered by stuff in the main story or optional stuff? Wouldn't surprise me if it was everything.

i got into kpop a few years ago and naturally this lead me to japanese idols which lead to japanese idols
when i tried yakuza 0 it blew my mind i was recognizing a few of them like ai uehara
i hope yakuza 6 works like yakuza 0 where there will be idols working at gas stations, substories, everything really.. so awesome and motivating to check out everything

The initial main character for Yakuza 4 I think it was, was cool but Majima has consistently been my favorite hands down. Everything I see with him has been awesome, and has pretty big variety in how he acts.

I tend to fill out Soul > Tech > Body in that order and pick whatever sounds most appealing. Got all the 10-cost abilities in Soul, then Tech, then Body, then moved on to the 20-cost abilities, and so on.
I do this mainly because I spend way too much time worrying about micromanaging my build otherwise.

I can't get card 19 either... have everything else and the Professor hasn't given that to me. :-(

0 is pretty much the only game in the series were the JAV actresses are featured *this* prominently, in all the other games they're confined to the hostess clubs and it's not nearly as many.
6 does have a live-chat minigame with AV actresses which is pretty much a QTE minigame as far as I can tell, with a real life video of the porn actress responding. The selection isn't nearly as good as 0 though. Anri Okita...eh.
I don't know if the original Yakuza already featured AV girls in the hostess clubs, but Yakuza 2 had Yuma Asami, one of the more widely known actresses.

I remember when I was a kid, I played a Japanese arcade game where you make Beetles fight with those Rock Paper Scissors mechanics and it printed those cards. Am I misremembering, or was there actually sexy women in that game? (I think it was called "mushi king" or something) I think there was a version of it with dinosaurs.

Anyone knows where Hannya Man is at the coliseum after you get the corresponding text message? Do you have to enter a specific tournament? I'm missing Shinohara too after I refused his challenge

Also, the endgame combat is so damn good. I went rampage at the coliseum last night while farming points to get Komaki's pictures and cleared all tournaments. Rush style with all abilities unlocked + the Dragon sumo slap are too good, add the tiger drop I have now and every fight is a blast.
I'm pretty sure I read Mesu King is a parody of that same game, but mixed up with the underground cat fights from 0, haha. The cards from Mushiking are just regular beetles.

You have to walk past fighter and he should cutscene in on you. I was rank A or S can't remember which, let me do 2 in a row, by just walking in and out after beating him.

As for the card... well... still didn't get that even after lots of battle, so i gave up... doesn't matter anyway, but thanks for your help!

Speaking of, I knew that both of 0's Mr. Libidos were based on real people but I didn't know the same applied to all the Shakedown guys.

They appear on stage at about 4 minutes. Their real body proportions don't really match up with what's shown in the game.

go to nakamichi street while you're calm (no heat), enter the restaurent at the north and go out until you see the majima marker on the map (check the full map, sometime he's out of range), there's huge chance he will be in his idol costume there, took me 10 minutes to get both fights
