Reported on CAG, there seems to be some conflicting reports but a couple people bought a few games today for $5 each. Circuit City is having a special deal this week where you can buy 2 PC/GH/PH games for $30 total, but for some reason they're ringing up at $10 instead. Apparantly you have to buy 2 games to do this so it's really 2 games for $10. Not really sure if they'll let you get away with it, and not many people have tried this deal so I'm not sure if it's nationwide
 
not sure if this deal is just regional or what, but i just got back from my local CC and they werent even ringing up at the advertised price.

has anyone from here tried it yet? any luck?
 
I'm not even gonna try to get this deal at my local CC.
Those guys are spot on with these kinds of things.
They'll refuse to honor the price that comes up in the computer.
 
If you guys want games for $5, you better do it today before they fix the glitch. The glitch is still working as of 4 PM Pacific

The guy who rang up my games was cool. He actually urged me to go get some more games and that they had to give it to me at $5 because it's against the rules to charge the customer more than what the computer says. Haha, rock.
 
i think i've finally hit the point where i just DO NOT NEED ANY MORE GAMES, no matter how cheap they are. normally i'd be out the door by now.

I was hesistant to go too but fuck it, a couple games wouldn't hurt :lol

I have too many friggin games to play. Some of them will probably go untouched for the rest of this gen.

mother of god, i must have done something wrong. i only checked the greatest hits type games, i never bothered to check the regular titles. looks like im heading back tomorrow, as CC is closed now on the east coast.
 
Bah. CC closed down the store near me, and I don't feel like driving four miles to check out the other store.
 
Dear god, there must be twelve pc titles I take for cube that I missed. Time to call my sister crying and begging, or fake heart attack until 2miles from CC.

yeah, i knew id find a way to screw it up, i never thought to ask about a coupon code. and here i thought i was going to be all slick, get first pick at the games before everyone else. meh, always tomorrow morning (hopefully).

also, is this deal on the GH/PC/PH games themselves, just the original copies of games that went GH/PC/PC, or both?
 
If I had to guess...seems like their promo discount is taking $15 off, rather than making the prices $15. Whoever made that mistake is so fired.
 
It's on games that Circuit City has entered for PH/GC/PC status I assume. They don't need to have the actual tags on them, if the computer has them entered as PH/GC/PC, then they are eligible. You can see that the games that I got don't have the tags, yet I was able to get them for $5 since they are officially PC titles
 
This was an error with the promotional package in the computer. We figured it out about 11AM (which is helped by the fact that our store manager rocks and is a semi-hardcore gamer and he was like OMG WTF) and rung them up for the correct price from there on.
 
Someone on CAG reported the glitch fixed, S.F. location. So if it's fixed, they're being fixed locally at stores or they just fixed it now for all stores...

Still worth a shot though. The stores should still be opened now, dont they have longer store hours for the holiday season?

Got 8 titles.

They rang up just as said.
A lady right before me raised heck about ripping them off, so I tried to find a different cashier. This different guy was cool about it. Smile My roommate was a bit slow in picking out titles, so he ended up with the heckled guy and didn't have a chance to get the $5 prices. Sad

Note:
Virtua 4 Evo was tagged at $15 and rang up at $15, so it seems only $20 titles count.

It officially is fixed as of five minutes before i walked into the Pomona California one.


The manager was rippin the employee a new one, "SO you rang up all these games without any question? Does this look like a normal price to you? What were you thinking!"

He also stated he sent out an email so that this could get fixed at other locations.

Oh yeah this was as of 8:30 PM 12/12/04.
 
Fucking lame, was at the Pomona CC as well. I had like 8 games with me and the rest of the people infront of me got theirs. I got denied the $5 price on all the games and left empty handed. At the register too!!!!! :(

Some people behind me were upset too. Schmo Florez and I got Owned....

Really? Because Castlevania: Lament of Innocence and Psi-ops(I tried to get this game because of you Matlock!!) rang up $5 each. YMMV
 
Ugh... no more games!! i cleaned up on the other CC $5 sales as well as TRU's sales. i ended up with half a dozen games i eBayed because i realized i'd likely never play them, and i still have a massive backlog. Sometime's there really is too much of a good thing.
 
It was confirmed on CAG that it was any $20 game.
I picked up Virtua Fighter 4 Evolution, but it rang up at $15 because it was $15. SSBM rang up at $30 because it was $30. Had I know that before I picked up my games, I would have got more.
 
I'm gonna be there tommorrow morning to see if this works. Might save me some money. Heres to hoping its going on tommorrow also.
 
People are still reporting success stories, so it seems like not all stores know about it. And yeah, it seems like it's on all $19.99 games, which is kind of weird. Even Sonic Mega Collection Plus and Ultra Bust-A-Move is $5

Even this morning it's still working? I thought it was going to get fixed last night. I don't get off work until 3... I guess I will give it a shot.
 
Yeah it's still working today, but I think the majority of the stores know about the glitch and are fixing the price manually
 
Just to tell my little story. I got screwed by a EBAYwhore (fucking old 80 year old bitch, even knew what games would sell well and what was new) who had almost 100 games in her cart. I come up with my four games that i wanted (i previously checked to see if it had worked at a satalite counter, but due to some stupid fucking xmas crap they cant use the satalite counters for purchases. All games came up as the right price, no notes or anything) so i come up to this very nice older clerk and everythign was going fine till she noticed that something was flashing at the bottom of the screen. And that was the end of it for me basically. It was a notice sent to all terminals saying that the price needed to be fixed manualy. Note: she already got all four games rung up and i could have been on my way. Hell she told me the total too and just as i hand over some money she pull this shit on me?!?!?!?! none the less i demanded to talk to a manager and i recorded my conversation with the manager and after telling him of the women ahead of me, he said no go, sorry blah blah. BUT THE LADY already told me the fucking price. Quick to fix that she delted the transaction before the manager got to her terminal. I even asked people behind me in line if they heard her say what the price was.

FUCKING FAT WALLET EBAY WHORES I hate you all.
 
Why are some people who buy videogames such incredible, classless cheapskates?

That old harpy woman who bought all those games in front of the above poster? All who tried to take advantage of this is knowingly a part of her wrinkly, cabbage-scented cabal.
 
The deal is extremely YMMV at this point of the game. All stores received a memo about the glitch so if you plan to try it today, try to find someone who looks clueless about games and the glitch :P
 
Thanks for tip! My sister just surprised me with new dvd player, BTAS Season One, sister princess anime box set(no has every bought me anime, all giddy) and 6 cube games.
She said she got them for $5 each(cube games) from tip I gave her last night. She just did few mins ago, so this is still working out there in some places obviously.
I'm so pumped and little bit peeved! Whole family promised no gifts this year and now she does this at last minute!
 
Dang Im wondering if this is still working. There is a CC nearby but dont want to just go and have them ring up at the stickered price. I guess its worth a shot.
 
Apparantly the corporate offices sent an email saying the glitch will be fixed tomorrow. If you want to press your luck still, you better do it by tonight

I'm heading straight to CC after this post. If the Classic NES GBA games are selling for $5, I may have to pick up a few. I am trying to find some PH/PC/GH games that I want.
