Guys, I'm sorry... it's all my fault... I... she choked on my dick this morning when I told her that I can't stay erect because she looked ugly as the Kay Vess cosplay and I preferred that she wear a Cal Kestis mask instead to finish the job. Am I cooked?

OMG a game with a female lead, such a brave approach we've never seen before except for like every other western game these days. And in Star Wars no less, where female leads don't exist except for the entire recent trilogy, and Rogue One, and Ahsoka ...and the Acolyte.

They see a very few people .. yes people on gaf.. make stupid alt versions of super sexy redesigns which isn't the point most gamers are making.

So in that context she is right and it's our fault.

Its rare to be a leading women in star wars or in video games? Really?

I can't tell if these people know what they are saying is a straight up lie, but they want to push a propaganda narrative, or if they are delusional and believe what they are saying

what's the difference between a woman scoundrel and a male scoundrel?
If written properly, I'm sure there's a ton of difference. I haven't played the game yet, so I can't say if this game makes proper use of the character's gender when crafting her narrative and her want/goals, but implying that there can be no functional difference between the two is simply wrong. For example, the much under-appreciated Assassin's Creed Liberation made excellent use of the protagonist's gender and social status when exploring both the game's narrative and game mechanics.

I mean, she's not wrong. A lot of gamers out there are emotionally stunted, one-dimensional people. It really is the ultimate escapist hobby after all.

Then again, we don't owe anyone a living. We pay to be entertained, not to be preached to or endorse your trendy ideology. Sell me a product I want and I'll buy it. Otherwise shut up.

I bought a sex doll, but I keep it inflated 100% of the time and use it like a regular wife
Sorry miss but I don't hate women, nobody complained about Samus nor Johana Dark. What I do hate are shitty and uninspired super generic games, and sadly SW:O seems to be one of those.

Plus the protag is fucken ugly, ngl.

Could care less about the main character being a women that’s not the issue with the game. Outside the ps4 graphics when avatar looks leagues better the issues have is how super annoying the dialogue is. I’m supposed to buy into this universe when thugs block the doors and I just say cheesy one liners and they run away? Or when trying to break into the Bosses room a guy is just yelling at the bar hey wanna buy my pass?? It’s super lame and immersion breaking.

I have Ubisoft + and can’t force myself to continue playing it with so many better games in my backlog.

I am looking at the reviews. It's a game reviewed by mainstream media with mixed reception (MC76):

simple, repetitive combat...bland stealth system and a significant lack of animations... the variety of activities quickly falls into the familiar pattern of Ubisoft's open-world games...derivative stealth gameplay...the execution is lacking

Seems people are just fed up of the usual boring Ubisoft open world following the same tired formula. A boring game. Remember publishers when games were fun? People don't buy those unfun games anymore, not when actually fun games developed in mostly eastern countries exist.

not acording to me but according to Star Wars Outlaws Actress Humberly González

“Yes, to be a leading woman not just in a Star Wars story but in the video game industry, which also tends to have a lot of limitations and misogyny and kind of in-and-out politics of who can be a part of it and who you want to play as.”

“I am incredibly proud of the team having chosen someone like me, but also only me, that there isn’t a male counterpart to the story of Star Wars Outlaws that we are focusing on a female point of view of a scoundrel story because we’ve only really ever seen males in a scoundrel position,”

and you guys still buy their games

I didnt see her call me a misogynist in that blurb. I saw her say that the gaming industry tends to have misogynist in it.

And being a gamer all my life, I can say that is not an untrue statement.

Not every comment made is aimed at you personally people.

Is she an idiot? No one had it out for her and people were lamenting the fact that her beautiful looks were uglified in the game. And what she does now is side with...the people that uglified her? Wha???
I don't think she's an idiot, but very confused because of how stupid this whole discourse is.

The thing that most people seem to ignore is that Kay Vess is not supposed to look like her. I understand the confusion considering other SW games have used actors' faces, but it's clearly not supposed to in this case (broken nose, Robert Z'dar jaw, etc). And online rage baiters have made her character a scapegoat, a character she was proud of playing. So to her, it's an attack on the character... and the online rage baiters on the OTHER side of the spectrum have convinced her it's because of sexist reasons.

So yeah, just a whole lot of bullshit going on thanks to rage baiters.

Why is she trying to stir the pot and try to make people needlessly upset? Brie Larson said something similar a few years ago and it helped tank The Marvels. The game not selling well currently has nothing to do with there being a female protagonist but because the game had serious quality issues.

I'm loving this new marketing strategy of calling potential buyers bigots and misogynists.
It always worked so well in the past why not invest more into it? We've seen how well modern audiences support products when the marketing aligns with their views. Take for instance the rousing success of Dustborn the new porn and the soaring heights of Concord. Who needs talentless freaks as customers?

The thing is, as a consumer, I don't owe you or anyone anything. I won't be guilted into buying whatever it is your selling. You have to earn it by actually being good or catering to what makes me and others want to buy them. That's on you, not us.

And I disagree that most or even many gamers are mysogynists. That word, like so many others are just thrown around, like so many other excuses for products that disappoint.
