You either die a hero or you live long enough to see yourself become Phil Spencer

I don't know what Xbox should even do at this point, but I hope they survive. Competition is good for everyone.

But yeah, maybe it's time we sunset old Philly-boy.

Xbox is now just a cog in Satya Nadella's grand AI scheme, complete with a leash for poor old (super rich) Phil Spencer.

I'm gonna ride out this gen with my Series X since it is still a great console but next gen I will most likely switch to a Steam Deck 2.

To be honest, it is a dream job... you can fail whatever you want and continue to receive $$$$ I just imagine his exit package is gigantic for Nutella to keep him around.

That being said, he is the typical guy i would never work for. There is no clear management direction, a bunch of 'yes-men' are more important than employees/contractors and everyone works thinking not about the next project, but when (when, not if) they will be laid off.

I barely know these people since the only two game related guys I know are Gabe Newell and Todd. But I do know he's a Microsoft guy and if he's the one that ordered Microsoft to go full Fallout for the upcoming years than he's cool with me.

I can't even imagine failing as much as these twats do and still having a job. Sign me up! Talk shit all day and do fat lines on my Porsche's dashboard while I run over a few devs on the way out of the parking lot.

Even though he absolutely deserves to be shit on, every time i hear negative news about Xbox, i am instantly reminded that the less competition from the green size, the lazier the blue side will become. Ain't looking pretty.

thing is, if xbox were actually competing (rather than 'disrupting'), they wouldn't be having these problems. microsoft's never been a competitor so much as it's been a conqueror...

Imagine keeping Aaron Greenberg around. Dude is in charge of marketing. Xbox marketing. For like over a decade. I've never seen such incompetent leadership and I've seen Phil Harrison wreck everything he touches.

Sucks too, because the series x is probably a top 5 console of all time, hardware wise. Backwards compatible with 4 gens of Xbox consoles, quick resume, silent, excellent form factor, great controller with battery options, it's a great mulitplat box. But nothing really sets Xbox apart anymore, it has no identity, the future is murky, what even is the Xbox identity in 2025? It used to be shooters and online multiplayer. Social aspect of Xbox live.

They can't become any lazier than they already are...
They hardly make new games and the ones they do are copy-paste of the previous ones with a few small changes!

I wouldn't say free. How many billions did he oversee to destroy his company and the industry?
Oh he has left a trail of death in his wake and Xbox has no shot at any kind of a revival with him and Bond at the helm

On the other end of the spectrum those who believe in him do give him some idol like status which I also don't understand
