You just can't make people happy

Looking at the Prime>Prime2 thread I can't help but realize that there's no way to make people happy.

Prime = cliche and godlike
Prime2 = not so cliche, new Samus tale but uninspired and boring

My personal opinion is that Echoes 2 was a natural progression in Samus' storyline and slowly moving away from Metroids (the least interesting aspect of the series anyway, considering how cool Samus is). She belongs on new planets, and hopefully we will eventually see her hunting real bounties.

This applies to many many more series that get sequels which is why I made a new thread. It's funny that so many of you bark about originality and then knock it down in the next breath calling it uninspired are just throwing feces around like a bitter monkey. You guys actually WANT a regular world, ice world, and fire world in every game. You bitch when it's there and bitch when it's not. I feel sorry for the developers.

Discuss.

I was thinking that this wasn't deserving of it's own thread...but you saved it with this image.

if they ever get around to creating a sequel to Fusion you'll probably see the X becoming samus' greatest threat.

How do you know monkeys are bitter when throwing around feces? They seem to be having quite a bit of fun.

SM Sunshine suffered the same fate. People want the cliche stuff; locales that makes no sense within the context of the story. People wanted Mario64. So many people bitched about the game taking place only in a tropical locale.

I see it the other way around. I see series like this emerging from their cliches into a story tailored to what the developers imagine their characters in. This instead of, obligatory fire, water, ice, sky, etc.

Live in the moment of the character and its new world. The kitchen sink approach is overdone.

Really? They look pretty stressed to me when they do it.

OOOO! OOO! AAA, AAA!... <whiff> <splat>

this would have been a lot more appropriate in that thread.
