What I meant by the beer, cigarettes and drugs comment is that people should be free to choose to enjoy them or not as they please... I like beer, but don't smoke, but don't pass judgement on people that do smoke.

One thing that gets my goat is people thrusting the way they do things on everyone else. Live and let live I say...

I hope you're not just using how people "look" as an indication of one's health.

The comment was actually meant to back up that sentiment - don't judge a book by it's cover - which equally goes on looks, or observations. It was meant to point out that you can't just generalise, but I can see how it could be misinterpreted.

I would rephrase:-

"I know a fair amount of people that eat badly, smoke and drink loads, and are fit and happy and look great, whilst some health freaks are unfit and unhappy and look like shit. And vice versa."
