Your Personal All-Time #1 Favorite Game EVAR

This guy right here.

Probably MGS. I beat it like 20 times, I had some insane times. At the rate I'm going MGS3 may take it's crown though.

World of Warcraft, but Pirates! is a really close second. Oddly enough, they were released on the same day this year.

It's hard to just name one all-time favorite game since there are so many genres that appeal to so many tastes...it's like trying to say what's your favorite album/movie/TV show of all time...

That being said, here are some of my favorite games of all-time:

Final Fantasy III/VI: Best video game story to me, IMHO. Has some of the most endearing characters I've seen in a game...but I have to say Metal Gear Solid 3 comes very close to it though.

Gran Turismo (series): As a car fan the selection of cars is awesome and the driving sensation is great. Each successive title that comes out takes 'driving simlulation' up another significant notch, thus raising the bar. Gotta appreciate the detail and length the people at Polyphony really go to make this series the best it can be with each new game and it shows, IMHO (online-enabled or not =P).

Street Fighter II' Hyper Fighting: One of the most competitive video games I've ever played among my friends back in the days (SNES Super Mario Kart comes second in terms of personal competitiveness). Recently I've been able to find a Champion Edition arcade game in decent condition and swapped in a Hyper Fighting board...good times are back again =)

There's a lot of other games I'd consider my favorite, but these three easily come off the top of my head every time =)

golly. Hyrule field looks SO huge in that screen. I had forgotten. We need land in the next LOZ.

yeah the draw distance is pretty nice actually.

And land you will probably get.

Lets hope Epona(still not confirmed) is as intertwined into the game as the horse is in Wanda and the Colossus, which doesn't seem like a problem because we are getting horse combat, so Epona probably has her own AI. I love huge sprawling fields as much as the next guy, but without a way to traverse them easily, it is going to be a pain. Heck, people even comlained about crossing Hyrule field in OOT.

epona or not (i dont give a damn what the name of the horse is), I sure look forward to get to ride a horse again.

horse > boat.

obvious and expected -------> halo 2

i mean it though. been playing games since the atari and intellivision, and gaming has never been better.

For pure time played, easily Everquest and Baldur's Gate 2.

Most enjoyable and most fun ever, Final fantasy 2 (snes).

Agreed. I hate getting hit by a shark while riding the KoRL and then getting knocked into the water.

No doubt about it.

Honorable mentions to Super Mario Kart (SNES), Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time (N64),
Final Fantasy VII (PSX), Super Mario 64 (N64), Street Fighter II (arcade/SNES), Mega Man II (NES), and Sim City (PC/SNES).

Although....Pirates! Gold is a close, close second.

Edit: Huge props to the guy who reminded me of Wasteland. God I loved that game.

battle garegga!

i haven't played it months. i need to hook the saturn back up.
This is quite a coincidence. First my post about Radiant Silvergun, and then this. I own two Saturns at the moment, and I found another one at my local independent game store. They didn't have it yesterday when I was there buying Alien Hominid. It was in fairly good condition. Just a few scratches on the top. They were selling it for $35 and I was considering getting it. I will probably return in a week to pick it up.

FF VII

There are so many others I'm tempted to choose and it's not my desert island pick, but it is the one I get the most emotional about.

Final Fantasy 6, my first rpg. I remember watching someone play it and I'd laugh at how
when you fight, your attacks go across the screen to the enemy. But once I sat down to
play it I became mesmerised. Story then became one of the most important parts of a
game to me. MGS3 is starting to take it's spot though...

I find it so amusing that a bunch of you can't list just one game.... restraint is a virtue!

Dr. Mario
Street Fighter Alpha 2
Star Control 2
Super Mario 3
Chronicles of Riddick
Ninja Gaiden
Doom

Hard to list just 1 game, but for me it is Castlevania Symphony of the Night. I bought it the day it was released and still have it (not a single scratch on the disc). I'm glad the PS3 is backwards compatible with PS1 games.

I didn't know you had the PS3. Can I burrow your Delorean? :lol
