I went off them for a while, but eventually decided that I like their slightly over the top (for me) style. It's not my usual preference, but they actually do bother having some knowledge about what they are on about (compared to most tech channels that are essentially just reading spec sheets and PR packs - *cough* MKBHD *cough*) and when they don't at least they tend to make arses of themselves which is entertaining in its own way.

And their not really dry like the anorak channels.

Yeah Linus and the gang are oddly wholesome to me. I've tried the other big names in the PC realm: gamers nexus, jayztwocents, techyescity, bitwit... etc

Something about Linus is so polished and fun. They have a very unique flavor to 'em, even with the cornball thumbnails. Idk. It's very pure.

Gaming wise it's probably

The Game Chasers - retro game stuff
The Night Sky Prince - Final Fantasy vids
Mystic- PlayStation news

Non Gaming channels

Mark Felton Productions - WW2
Primm's Hood Cinema - hood movie reviews
That Chapter - great true crime videos

Ryan George - this guy is really funny on Screen Rant’s Pitch Meetings, but he truly shines on his own channel.

Trash Taste - and by extension their individual channels Gigguk, The Anime Man, and CDawgVA. Just three chill guys having fun talking about anime, manga, games, food, Japanese culture, etc.

Critical Role - granted, not watching their new videos as I only discovered them a year ago and I’m only on episode 34 of Campaign 2 as boy there’s so much content (I did skip Campaign 1 knowing they only begun recording it 2 years into it, I prefer being able to see their characters meet and such in full), but damn these guys are just so entertaining

I fondly remember the time when Youtube led me down paths to find small channels with backyard rednecks having 30 subscribers, finding good food, music and interesting stuff where I least expected it. Nowadays it is just major media.

Tjhat being said, this thread will take a heavy toll on my productivity.

1. Funhuas: IDK where they find these new cast members but they are all amazing. Old and new all great.
2. Grant Abbit: Guys a work horse. Great 3D modeling content at a much faster pace than Blender Guru (Who still rocks)
3: Kings and Generals: Great mini docs that you can end up watching multiple times.

Ah, been subbed to her channel for years. Very sweet lady with great dishes. You wrote "RIP." I hadn't confirmed it, but I kind of suspected since the videos released have been so few and far between. :(
