DNS ad blocking doesn't for the youtube app since ads are served by the same video servers, I've tried Adguard Premium and all
I use brave browser and haven’t seen any ads. On my pc I use freetube, but before my waterfox with ghostery and ublock origin also took care of themwhat’s the best way at to block ads on iPhone or Apple TV? Is there even a way?
freeloaders on youtube just make every view worth less, which means YT pays them less, which means that they are forced to do things like "and now a segue... TO OUR SPONSOR!" type stuff that everyone hates and complains about just as much.I dont think youtube themselves would be hurt but content creator metrics would for sure, which means less overall viewership, less appealing sponsors and what not. I think YouTube would like to keep their creators happy as the grunt of the work is made by them.
I totally agree but the creators lose out, at least that’s my understanding. Google still gets, and sells , your data.Because they sell your data?
They get paid based on video views. You still are giving the video viewsLook, no one likes ads but why do you guys think it is free? The people losing money is really the creators that you are watching
So they get paid even with blocked ads? Well, I’m all for it then. I assumed it was based off impressions. I’m not a google fan so this is great. They get paid based on video views. You still are giving the video views
Fuck Google who sells your information then charges you to turn off the very worst ad intrusion on a video service from the money they made oft you to begin with.
With that said, they probably do get more money based on ad impressions if their channel is monetized. But, I've seen demonetized channels still have those annoying YouTube "skip in 15, or 5 seconds," or the long unskippable ones when massive banks like Wells Fargo tell you how virtuous they are. Which means that 100% goes to Google and they're fucking over wrong think creators. So they get paid even with blocked ads? Well, I’m all for it then. I assumed it was based off impressions. I’m not a google fan so this is great.
I retract my comment
Same.I know today's news if frustrating for many of you, but YouTube Premium is literally the last subscription service I would cancel.
YouTube makes up 90% of the streaming video I watch.
How to kill a service slowly.
That would be my hope, and yet, fucking Comcast is still draining people's blood, demanding more each year. Hopefully, we'll eventually see a breakdown of these structures to allow more reasonable business models to enter markets across goods and services.
Look, no one likes ads but why do you guys think it is free? The people losing money is really the creators that you are watching
i don't have the youtube app, but i use it through the browser.DNS ad blocking doesn't for the youtube app since ads are served by the same video servers, I've tried Adguard Premium and all
I only use YouTube on my browser with adblocker.
On the rare occasion i use it on my phone or TV i'm shocked how many ad's there are.
Try youtube revanced.
Hey Win, care to share where to get Revanced from ? i'm asking 'cause there's various DL links on Google, which is the "official" one ?
I'm still on the latest version of good'ol Vanced since I haven't uninstalled it yet, are there any differences /pros in installing REvanced ?
Cheers
And there it is.This is a great way to make people stop using youtube.
Creators with sponsored videos get the money of the retention time and even if we use an ad blocker it still is counted. So if they force me to watch an ad then I don't want to see a sponsored video anymore, can't watch 4 minutes of ads for 6 minutes of content.Cue the comments saying “well that’s me not using YouTube anymore”, etc.
You don’t spend a penny with them, and circumvent their other revenue stream.
Absolutely zero fucks will be given.
And there it is.
Adblock Plus blocks Facebook block of Adblock Plus block of Facebook block of Adblock Plus block of Facebook ads
i do the ads got bad on the tv app soI pay for a bunch of digital subscriptions at this point. I use Youtube quite a bit. Yet I never entertain the idea of paying for YouTube premium and I don't know anyone who does.
Hey man, it's all about State of Survival nowadays along with their cheesy ads:Have you heard of Hello Fresh/Raid Shadow Legends/Nord VPN
So it's pretty decent as a music service?Ever since they packaged it together with Youtube Music I started using it. I used to pay for Spotify and decided to make the switch. However, from saying all of that, they really screwed up with Youtube Red(shows and movies).
I could imagine a scenario where they not only had ad-free viewing and unlimited music streaming, but also exclusive high budget TV shows and movies to rival HBO or Apple TV. Instead, Youtube Red was nothing of the sort and was quietly rebranded as 'premium' due to how badly they fumbled things.
Ignorance is bliss. As terrible as ads are on the clickbaity videos, I can't fathom how someone who won't pay to use youtube and won't watch ads to use youtube could believe that youtube would somehow be hurt if they stopped using it. They deserve everything for free I guess and if they have to pay then the services deserve to die a painful death.
Just FYI the alternative isn't going to be totally free, either.
Tip toe apply where this is normalized in x months/years. Data gathering has been going on for decades. Social media was a huge win.
It has improved greatly within the last 2-3 years. I'm sure that someone could mention how 'Spotify does _____ better' but as of today I think it's a great music app with it's own unique qualities. So it's pretty decent as a music service?
I can't believe some people actually watch Youtube with Ads. Its like getting Rick-Rolled on every video you watch lol
Maybe... just maybe... instead of relying on unsafe, unreliable, shitty youtube who doesn't even pay much... they idkwhich means that they are forced to do things like "and now a segue... TO OUR SPONSOR!" type stuff that everyone hates and complains about just as much.
you get even MORE ads that way. It's time to go back
how are they not real jobs when those scumbag youtubers are making thousands/millions with every video release? What is a real job defined by if these guys are making fat stacks off of them?Scumbag youtubers should get real jobs

0.000001% of YouTubers are making this kind of money. Let’s flip it around:how are they not real jobs when those scumbag youtubers are making thousands/millions with every video release? What is a real job defined by if these guys are making fat stacks off of them?
