Finished the game earlier with all sidequests, map completion, misc trophies etc. except for the harvesting points. I'm at like 98.9% and have double checked the trophy guide maps and there are none missing in any of the dungeons. It's pretty frustrating, and I'm thinking of just giving up and moving onto Sorcery Saga despite the fact that I wanted to platinum this first. I really enjoyed the game though, at least.

All of my missing harvesting points turned out to be on the outside map.
I tried checking map screenshots manually for a while and found a couple, but couldn't find the last one. Eventually I took screen shots of my own map, overlayed them on top of complete map screenshots in a graphics editor (paint.net), and flipped the transparency slider back and forth looking for what was different and finally found the last one.
(I used the map shots at the bottom of this page: http://alphawiki.net/ysc_psvita/index.php?%A5%C8%A5%ED%A5%D5%A5%A3%A1%BC )

I just took some screenshots of my own map and compared them to those, and I still couldn't find anything missing. Either I need glasses or maybe I'm missing a point in one of the dungeons somewhere, but I don't see the latter being likely since I already got all the chests and I explored the dungeons pretty thoroughly.

At the Tower right now at what I think is probably the first fight with the boss. Everyone's Level 30 or above with everyone but Duren having their current set of skills mastered. Spent a bit of time grinding the enemies on the first floor.

Really liking it so far in any case.

Just competed it, the last dungeons are fantastic, specially when you feel you are overleveled so you skip all the monsters in your way!

I'm in the same spot and it definitely seems like the difficulty picked up. I'm pretty bad about upgrading weapons and equipment though. Pretty confident that will fix it

Finished the Tower last night, things are back to normal at the overworld (actually feeling OP now)... the difficulty spike within the tower is a bit too much I guess.

Oh one other thing, did they not bothered again with the floating cloud shadow visual in the first part of overworld area? I thought it was really cool and disppointed not seeing it again. ;(

What's the best way to reinforce ultimate weapons and armor?

Save up/grind a million gold and buy the real gold statue from the goldsmith :p

But really, there is no good way to do it. Try mixing and matching animal and plant parts for a while to get the best ratios for a spell, but eventually you're going to have to shell out a crap ton of money to max them in the end.

Buy three of the cheapest weapon/armor in the game, raise one to all 2s and the other two to all 8s, and then use those three cheap pieces of equipment to enhance the expensive equipment so you only have to pay the expensive equipment upgrade price three times (per piece of ultimate equipment).

The way I did it is this:

Buy 3 of the lowest tier sword (it doesn't have to match what you're reinforcing, no need to buy the cheapest knife just to reinforce Karna's best weapon for example) from Casnan for weapon reinforcement and Leather Plates for armor.

Reinforce the first sword/plate like this (+18... or was it +16? I forget >_>)
2x Sturdy Hide > 4x Sturdy Bone > 2x Sturdy Hide > 2x Sturdy Shell > 2x Sturdy Hair

The other two swords/plates (+65)
8x Sturdy Shell > 8x Sturdy Hair > 4x Titanic Bone > 2x Amethyst

You should have tons of the Sturdy items. Titanic Bones are dropped by those dinosaur dudes in Lake Tolmes Ruins. Purple Stones for Amethysts... ahh I forgot just look around in your resources list I guess

Head to Selray's weapons shop and use those reinforced items onto your weapon/armor of choice. Use the first one and then the other two (+65) after.

Should cost like 150k total.

Probably figured that one out after staring down at the massacred remains of the box that was so eagerly anticipated.

... Grabbed Nayuta no Kiseki since it was about $30 on Amazon US and it sounded import friendly enough (and sounded pretty good), and I swear I think this looks better than Ys Celceta despite being a PSP game.

I did, but the insert was too firmly stuck in. my big hands just ripped it open.

=(

Oh I see what you mean. yeah shit was just taped too tight. Took a while to insert a knife in there. Tight motherfucker, that box.

The tape took some of the "blue" away too. I'm more mad about that.

so the last side quest in selary weapon shop doesnt give you the real ultimate weapon after all :/
mayn. I hope this is as good as ys 7.
a great upgrade from 7in almost everything, the only thing i really hated that you can take with you any amount of healing stuff, unlike 7

Does anyone know the official English Voice cast for the dub? I cant help but think Adol's VA sounds a lot like Kirito from Sword Art Online...

Yeah, it's definitely Brice Papenbrook. (Kirito, Asbel, radiata stories guy)

None of the others were immediately obvious to me

Cool just finished SAO an really liked his performance there ;) LOL kind of ironic hes playing such a character as Adol in a similar fantasy setting

EDIT: Also I'm lost and need some help ;( in the Sparda water temple area. So I have 2/3 of the stone pieces needed to open a wall but I cannot for the life of me find the leftmost piece. Anyone know where I should head? This place is confusing!

Did you buy the LE? If so, take a look at the book -- it's a strategy guide as well, and has the locations of all three slates listed, along with all the other info you'll need in order to figure out how to get to them.

How much of the game DOES that guide cover anyway? Don't exactly want to spoil myself, but it would be nice if it covered most or all of the game just because you usually actually will want to consult a guide at the end game rather than the mid or early game, that was kind of the problem with SMTIV's bundled in guide.

Yes actually awesome! First time a CE book actively helped me in the game! Excellent CE by the way :) Best VITA one I've purchased that's for sure!

Guide covers up through a little over halfway in terms of maps and story summaries and quests and such, but has data charts that cover the entire game -- where to find materials, etc. I think all the places where most players will get stuck are covered one way or another.

Does reporting a completed quest time sensitive? I forgot to report one and I think it will be a while before I get back to the village.

Hell yeah, beat my first playthrough on Nightmare. That was a fun game. Got everything done except the weapons you get in NG+, the two timed easily missable quests (tickling and back alley info) and the haggling/sales trophy.

Jesus christ, Duren's
Dragon Kick is the best thing in the game. He destroys everything with it.

Its finally here

Played a bit and finished the mine level. I think this game will scratch my itch of playing a large RPG ala dragon age. Expect screens later.

Love the combat. But the graphics ouch! Low res; 30 fps; psp level models.

First thing I did after finishing my first playthrough was to pick up the soundtrack.
I think my favorite track is Underground Ruin (地下遺跡).

Falcom has a lot of their music on download stores outside Japan.

Kinda lost while trying to search for
Ancient Burrow
. I keep following the arrow but it takes me to a drawbridge that is up and I can't seem to open it from my side.
Anything I'm missing?

Kerrinck

Thanks, that did the trick.
Had no idea that other path would take me there.

By the way, is there an order to do the quests? Feels like I am overleveled since the enemies are much easier than the previous dungeon.

I just got 100% map completion but I got it during the final boss fight. How do I turn in my completion to
get the final artist
?
Does this carry to ng+?

Yeah, material charts seem like the kind of thing you'd want most throughout the game, so good to have that much covered at least.
kinda wish dungeons have maps... that first one was a bit confusing to navigate.

and no quick way to shrink myself.
You can tap the mini map icon at the top right to get a larger view of the field map, it probably applies to dungeons too.

6 hours in and I LOVE the changes made to the combat system.

Flash Guard and Flash Move both feel so right!

Really like exploring the forest, unlocking some cool shortcuts always feels nice, still haven't reached the second dungeon yet.... Weird pacing so far.

Does this game have alot of bosses? Only fought the tutorial one at this point.

Difficulty feels perfect on Nightmare, Flash Guarding the shit out of everything gets the job done!

It does carry to NG+. You can turn in your 100% map completion to Griselda on NG+, too, before you even leave Casnan.
