Liked how skyward sword gave you sprint though.

Never really dodged in 7 when guarding was more fun and useful.

Just realized it about the title, if you say the name the correct way or the standard wrong/jokey way, it still sounds right.

No, you can if you want. The way skills actually work is no different from Ys Seven, though the way you learn them very much is (it's no longer from weapons, but rather from fighting difficult battles -- easiest way to learn new skills is to take down huge enemies on the map).

Also, there are all kinds of crazy ways to kill enemies now that have added bonus effects, with "Skill Finish" resulting in some of the SP you used on the skill that struck the finishing blow getting returned to you. The others are "Excellent Kill" (meaning you killed an enemy with the attack type it was weak against, resulting in some additional gold and rare material drops) and "Aerial Combo" (meaning you air-juggled the enemy, also resulting in some additional gold and rare material drops).

that was like the best thing ever, and more than half the reason Ys 7 is so fun

This will be an interesting experiment: I'd like to just walk into Best Buy (I have gift cards) tomorrow and pick up the standard edition. Preordering online doesn't allow in-store pick up, so I'd have to wait for shipping.

Also, I'm getting this day one (the silver something edition) but with 3D World and AlbW, I probably won't be playing this until next year the earliest.

Anniversary Edition "Shipping Now" from Amazon, but still says December 2nd... Hopefully it comes (way) before that...

Edit: And literally 15 seconds after posting, I got an email from Amazon saying it has shipped and will be here on Wednesday. Good enough.

Argh, just called my local shop and their distributor was hit by a tornado in Ohio recently and they're not sure if it will be in tomorrow. THE PAIN.

Considering buying digital version on top of already purchased limited edition...

There is limited VA -- mostly just battle sounds, but also introductory lines for each of the characters and a few scattered generic "mood" lines here and there. Adol's got battle lines too, just like he did in Ys Seven -- though also just like in Ys Seven, you have the option of turning off only his voice if you'd prefer he remain completely silent.

And if you're asking about whether or not Adol has any dialogue in the story... he actually does! But only in flashbacks to his childhood. So little boy Adol has some dialogue, but grown-up Adol does not.

Just got an email that my Silver Edition shipped and I should have it by wednesday :)

Wasn't expecting it until next week since my expected delivery date from Amazon was still Dec. 2 earlier this afternoon, went straight from "pre-ordered" to "shipped". Never had that happen before :)

My Silver Edition from VGP just shipped. I wonder how big the box is, I'm kinda worried it's gonna be picked up by customs. With a little bit of luck I might have it by the end of next week (and it's gonna race Zelda for what arrives here first).

All of you who are getting the game tomorrow from Amazon, did you pay for 1 day shipping or did you go with free shipping? I went with free and it says I won't be getting it until 12/04 -12/10.

I had that same delivery estimate. My shipping is also free, but Amazon just shipped my order. YMMV.

Same! Picking mine up after work tomorrow. Getting out of the office at 1:00pm on Wednesday. 4-Day Weekend Thanksgiving Ys Full Speed Ahead Going Real Hard Commencement (with Tearaway, Mario 3D World, and Zelda ALBW sessions mixed in). Ugh, too many extra amazing games right now. I can't take it!

Wow, I can't believe this game is coming out tomorrow. I feel kinda bad--I was totally on top of the PSP Ys releases, and got the LEs for all of them. This time, not only has the release completely taken me by surprise, but I don't even own a Vita. :/

I'm no Ys scholar, but the framerate on the PSP version didn't seem to be a problem. I thought it controlled very, very well. Just my 2 cents on the matter. But then again, I'm hardly a framerate junky/snob, so unless it's a slideshow, I don't particularly pay attention to framerates. Ditto for native resolution stuff. And yes, I'm a PC gamer, so it's not like I'm not aware of what gaming in 120+fps, at absurd resolutions is like. For a handheld game, though, I keep my expectations very much in check. Even when the handheld is as badass as the Vita.

I'm in the same boat. Honestly, xseed should just have free reign over my bank account and just send over new releases as they come so I don't have to bother preordering all the time lol.

My Ys SAE should be shipping soon though, excited for that.

I like the dodge but I do understand what others are referring to.
It's one thing to dodge attacks quickly but quite another if consecutive dodges out paced normal running... which means to move around the map you just keep dodging. It's just weird.

I guess it would be better to reduce the dodge distance and add a limit to consecutive dodges where you have a slight pause and have to start again, a bit like nayuta no kiseki. (A great game btw)

i don't know - being able to zip around made the game feel really snappy. i loved not having to walk around.
