It's what really makes the series worth playing in my eyes.
If you ever played an MMO before it's basically the equivalent of soloing raid bosses, the fights last a bit longer as bosses have more hp, they hit you like trucks so you have to learn the ins and outs of stuff plus their attack patterns get sped up or they get new moves all together
I bought it, downloaded & installed. I wait for my son to go to sleep and I'll check.
I don't think there's any specific enhancement for Pro and the boost mode shouldn't make any difference considering it's 60fps already.
You're going to be in for a treat. I got into the Ys games with the PS2 port of Napishtim, now it's one of my favorite game franchises.
Play Felghana if you get a chance as well, its amazing.
Powered through this over the weekend and got my review finished.
I look forward to playing it again when the Vita version rolls out. The vintage graphics probably won't stick out as much on the smaller screen.
Edit: The only Pro enhancement that I've seen is taking 4K screenshots which should be standard, no?

The new UI is pretty ugly lol. but it's definitely more readable. Especially from a distance
but so far the port seems pretty solid. Just disappointed at the lack of control mapping but that's probably to be expected on console.
Going to take a long time to get used to charging skills on face buttons instead of shoulder. Spoiled by playing the Napishtim engine games on PC for so long

It's a different style from Celceta. Watch a video and see if it appeals to you.

Whenever I retry on bosses they lose the audio on just about all of their attacks and movements. Perhaps it has something to do with Hugo and how much noise his attacks make when the fight reloads, but it's happened consistently on the first two bosses now.
Pretty irritating since I rather enjoy the sound design in this game. Kind of lame having to go through the rest of the boss fight without hearing any of the sounds they make

If someone liked Celceta, I have a tough time believing they wouldn't find Origin to be completely amazing. It's a somewhat different style, sure, but it's waaaay better.
Happens while playing as Yunica as well.

So, I'm playing on a 1080p screen. It's quite sharp and 60fps, kind of obvious, and it doesn't look like it's supersampled.Sweet, thank you.
There is no patch note / history. So no, it's probably not enhanced for Pro.
But it's freaking good so far.
Edit: oh and there's a puzzling lack of AF.
If you loved Oath in Felghana you're pretty much guaranteed to love Origin too. Ys VI is a much worse game so it doesn't matter if you didn't like it.

Why is it that on occasion the character you control will seemingly sprint across the screen, faster than normal running. It keeps doing it at random and I cant figure out why or if its something Im doing?
You might have gotten the item that lets you dash. By default you have to double tap movement, but you can set an option to just be dashing all the time.

Maybe once or twice early in the game. I never touched after finding that one secret path in
Fire Area
Y'all should set dash to auto, so that you're always running at top speed.

My thoughts exactly. I picked it up though doubt I'll get to play it for a week or two. More Falcom games the better.
Still nothing up on OpenCritic for this, but I did see a couple other reviews go live this morning.

The game isn't even out on the Brazilian store, and they're already sending review copies?
Im just glad that the icons look nice, the music is a decent loop of the main theme, and Darm's Tower is featured. Its a pretty nice theme, and not complicated like some. Replacement for my Rez theme heh.
Just because the game isn't live on the marketplace doesn't mean that review builds don't exist..
The NA code I received is for an alternate build of the game that doesn't have the theme. I might still buy it this weekend when the spend $100, get $15 promotion starts back up.

Feels great to play a falcom game again. I even had both versions running side by side on 2 displays to compare.
