Yu-Gi-Oh! Community |OT| It's Time to D-D-D-D, D-D-D-D-Duel!

I have been curious about this for awhile.
Does anyone here know if someone created a Hacked Yugioh Rom that possibly has playable cards from 2007 & Up till 2011?

I just found out hulu has every episode of Yu-Gi-Oh!, GX, 5D, and Zexal on its site.

I'm watching the original Yu-Gi-Oh! and it holds up really well (other than the characters always saying they're open even though they have a face down trap card -_-)

So why is drafting in yu gi oh bad? Is it just not balanced for it?

You can still do a sealed draft, I've done it once.

But I'd imagine doing a cube draft a pretty hard thing to do.

Idk maybe someone else can share their experience

Uhh... Yu-Gi-Oh! World Championship 2011: Over the Nexus is a thing that already exists. I'm not sure what else you want (I doubt anyone's ever attempted to hack increasingly complex card effects into a game). Alternatively try one of the fanmade online PC versions such as Devpro.

I've thought a bit about making a cube, but I'm not sure whether it's worth the effort compared to a Magic cube. It's definitely possible; you could do something similar to Modern Masters where you have a bunch of different deck types available. Specialised cards should be fine as long as you have a bunch of cards in each deck type that are also playable in other decks.

Hiya, I've been out of the Yugioh loop for a good 6 years or so, maybe more/less, depending on when Yugioh GX first had the episodes centered around the ultimate god cards.

To be honest, I want to get back into Yugioh, but I'm confused about a lot of things, including "synchro-summoning", "Xyz monsters", and probably whatever else I missed in my long absence.

So, which starter deck would be good for someone who's been gone from the series and card game for so long?

The V for Victory starter seems pretty cool and you get 2 special boosters. Doesn't include synchros but it has some Xyz monsters so you can understand the mechanics.

You can also download Devpro to try out the deck.

This newer version of YGOPro is pretty cool, it even has TCG only cards. I like that they added a CPU opponent finally, I can't wait till the app is fully realized.

The card game from the beginning is like a completely different one, but when it hits Battle City it starts becoming the game we play. However, yeah, I agree. The arc before that is still enjoyable, and Pegasus is a quirky and unique villain. 4Kids really nailed the dubbing in terms of voice actors.

I suggest picking up Yu-Gi-Oh World Championship 2012 Over The Nexus for DS if you have the system, it'll help teach you a lot of things and use cards you currently don't have. There's a new Yu-Gi-Oh! game coming out for 3DS, but no release date yet.

Synchro Summoning works like this:

There are monsters called "Tuner" monsters. A Tuner monster is just a type of monster, like Spellcaster, Dragon, etc. In order to summon a "Synchro" monster, one must have one and only one Tuner monster out on the field, and another non-tuner monster out on the field. (You may have more than one tuner monster out on the field, but only one can be used for one Synchro summoning at time.)

The way you special summon a Synchro monster is when you have a Tuner monster, and any kind of non-tuner monster(s) out on the field with enough Stars to equal the cost the Stars that the Synchro monster has.

So, let's say you have these two guys on the field.

As long as it's your turn, and during either Main Phase 1 or Main Phase 2, you can summon from your extra deck a 5 Star Synchro Monster.

JUNK WARRIOR!

Xyz monsters work similar to synchros, although different. To summon an XYZ monster, one must have two monsters of the same Stars out on the field like this.

Notice they both have 4 Stars? Well, that means you can summon a 4 Star XYZ monster.

So...

I agree with you about the Duelist Kingdom arc; I'm just skipping around parts of the show right now and I just finished watching Yugi, Joey, and Kaiba duel the Big 5/Noah. Show is so good and I feel like it's Saturday morning on Kids WB again haha. You're totally right about the voices too, they're all perfect for the characters.

Why I didn't realize this years ago idk
OTK 4 card combo using OG Trap cards

2x
Yu-Gi-Oh-Soul-of-the-Duelist-Greed.jpg

If played on Turn 2 during opponents turn; 6 cards x 2 shuffle & re-draws = 12, 500 x 2 = 1000, 12 x 1000 = 12,000 Total Effect Damage

I tried to watch this again, but the abridged series has completely ruined the original.

Hulu is a godsend for trying to watch the original and GX. It's also not too far behind on dub ZeXal (although the official subs are really, really far behind).
Interesting, although you are running two cards that are arguably more worthless than any given piece of the Dancer FTK when used on their own. Greed also needs to stay face-up, so MST can ruin your plan. It flat out does not work if your opponent does not have enough cards in his hand.

I'd argue you might be better off with magical explosion OTK if you are going that route.

This is the best list in a LONG time. Konami hit exactly what they needed to in prophecy, gave E-Dragons exactly what they deserve and hit stuff nobody will miss. It'll be interesting to see how a world without two parts of the trinity or God's rejection, although the major hits to anti-monster backrow might balance things out.

Zombies are going to be insane with double Mezuki and plaguespreader. I would never have guessed fire fist spirit going to one, either.

It's okay to like prophecy again!

Like Wiseblade, as someone who's played from the beginning; this is the best list in a LOOOOONG ass time.

Too bad my main run's 3 silver's cry and darkstorm d. lol

@Wiseblade: I still think Prophecy are op (between fate/wisdom...ugh).

Also, are any of you guys on DevPro?
I disagree, Prophecy have had fate/wisdom since abyss rising and didn't really achieve anything of note even after Spellbook of the Master made fate good. And that was in a way less hostile environment. Cosmo Blazer was a good point for the deck and the competition now is much better positioned to defend themselves. Mind Drain and Imperial Iron Wall were untouched, droll and lock exists and Ophion is an ever present threat.

Kycoo build doesn't care for Ophion/Mind Drain et all and, to be fair, Spellbooks were getting barely any play before LoTG purely because the droves that emulate the meta didn't care for it (not to mention everything is ultra/secret).

Now a lot of people have invested in it, I don't see it going away quickly.

I predict that people will go crawling back to priestess without judgment now that judgment is gone. Kycoo isn't getting over Ophion without a power and a wisdom, with fiendish untouched and prison/mirror at two. Fate is worthless against Ophion, too.

I have a few friends who play Magic and would ask me about Yugioh card game.

Konami tournaments /pre-release events /Booster packs/boxes, Starter, Structure decks. Rarities /Advanced & Traditional Card Rules (Tcg & Ocg) /YGO online (Dueling Network & YGO Pro)

They would tell me how well Wizards of the Coast handles their player fan base so carefully and precise. From Online Tournies to Story Arc cards. Card Rulings. Etc.

Me and my brother were sharing our early local tournament experiences and recent local tournament experiences. Talking about non-official and official judges at these local tournies have acted poorly, unfair, and biased judges.

Then I questioned the idea of how well Yu-Gi-Oh would be if Hasbro bought out Konami and joined it with Wizards of the Coast to improve the Franchise by supporting the Competitive scene, Contributing more to player fanbase, and revamped products?

I've been away from the game for years but I find it funny that they ban classic cards like Pot of Greed, Cyber Jar, Monster Reborn, etc. because they are "broken" and yet these synchro, xyz crap allows you to bust out 3000+ attack monsters like it's nothing. You don't even need them in your hand. I've lost so many duels on YGOPro from these cards being brought out in 1 or 2 turns and negating effects, spells, traps, attacking twice with 4000 atk. How is this not considered broken?

The game has been suffering from power creep for years and it got even more obnoxious last format when Spellbook/DR dominated everything. Since me and my group of friends discovered the competitive side of the game, I feel like my intrest has waned a lot. The magic of finding new tech's has gone now we all have access to regionals/YCS and all the meta bullshit that goes with that.

I would love to see the game follow Magic's example and just bite the bullet and introduce yearly formats that wipe the slate clean with each iteration. Super Rejuv combined with D Rulers was a clear example of two eras interacting in a way the designers never anticipated (to the detriment of the game).

Part of it is the cash grab side of things that Konami encourages (Introducing new Dragon Ruler product when the things should have been outright banned or limited at best) and as long as they want this to continue they'll just keep introducing more broken shit to encourage the droves to buy into the new sets.

If I wasn't so invested in the game (both physically and from a time perspective) then I would of dumped it for Magic or a less broken TCG equivilant years ago.

I kind of want to make a Destiny Hero deck for YGOPRO. I'm bored playing with my Skill Drain deck
since it's so good haha

I should probably mention that I went to YCS London, along with 1400 other people. I didn't do well though.
I missed it, on account of being completely broke, but everything I heard about the event sounded like a minor clusterfuck (so I suppose that was a relative silver lining on my end). I mean, how can you get to half ten at night (after a 8am start) and have only got through 3-4 rounds? Friends of mine that went ended up cutting at round 7, which I guess isn't too bad, although I would have probably dropped on Sat just to get a leg in on the sides before all the Day 2'ers.

I didn't know you were UK though dude, what locals do you usually attend? I usually go to either Kingston or Croydon in SE London but I got to check out Bermondsey’s (in central) a few weeks back. They've got a pretty well organised set up there but the players are a lot more meta orientated so it's got it's draw backs for a more casual player like myself.

Yeah, that first day was a mess. The tournament started at 12 and each round overran by an hour. I dropped after my round six match, and left the building at 10pm. I didn't do any side events though, my free time was spent hanging out with friends in the expo next door and winning prizes for Street Fighter.

I typically go to the Bexley locals, but I go to Croydon occasionally, too. I want to check out Bermondsey’s locals though, since the tougher competition sounds fun.

EDIT: HOLY CRAP at that dragon presence. It's true though. Two thirds of my matches were against dragons. If I wasn't playing against dragons, then someone on my table was. The Prophecy presence wasn't much different, but performed a lot worse.

Well, I bought the Blue Eyes Structure Deck and the XYZ Starter deck, to ease myself back into the game.

It's so good having a Blue Eyes in my hands, again. Brings back nostalgic playground memories.

What did you end up taking to YCS, Wisblade?

@Dragoshi1: I know what you mean, looking forward to when the Yugi/Kaiba Reloaded Starters get released for those childhood feels.

Prophecy.

Stop giving me that look! I've been a Spellcaster since the very beginning. My favourite card as a child was Neo the Magic Swordsman. I bought the DS YGO games and played though them with Dark Magician decks. The spell counter structure is what got me buying physical cards again. Do you have any idea how bad spell counter decks are? I was front of the line when Return of the Duelist came out, buying up Spellbooks.
