Zelda has slipped to 2006

You know, it sucks, but...somehow I don't mind. This is how Ocarina was, and this is how Wind Waker should've been. Finish the game, THEN release it. This is how Nintendo used to be, you know?

I hope the wait is well worth it.

sorry it took me some time to believe the news.. I was looking at the date and it wasn't 1st of April :( ..

Nope, but it wont be out till at least then ! :P

...seriously though, this kinda sucks, i was really getting ready to play this game, butim not really against them taking more time to improve it :P

Plus, like was said allready, GC is pretty much dead anyway (i hate to say it :(...but its true) so a few months isnt gonna mean much anyway..

And look at the bright side !! now RE4 can win Game of the Year !!! ....Zelda can win it next year :P

But Ocarina made the Holiday season. Are they going to delay this until Christmas 2006?

This means no Zelda for me. At the end of november my two cubes will be removed from under my TV, replaced by a shiny new Xbox 360.

imho the reason for the delay is that the quality of TP in its current state is far from being good and that even hiring more people wouldn't allow the game to launch in november. There is no other explaination for this decision.

geez maybe it IS time to trade in my GC for credit... since it will be collecting dust for the rest of the year.

nah, i dont trade consoles as a rule.. ;)

Couldn't Miyamoto just be like: "Yo, get this finished NOW! I want everyone from project A to switch to Zelda. I want the designers working 24/7. I want the coders worker 24/7. I want the janitors working 24/7. If we don't finish this project on time, the building blows up."

Why isn't real life more like the movies?

What Miyamoto wants doesn't matter. he game would look like Wind Waker if Miyamoto mattered.

I see your emotions change with every post you make, first they were genuine but now you are just back to your silly little self.

I view things from both sides of the spectrum.

3 month wait went to, AT THE VERY LEAST, an 8 month one. Wow. The only new game even worth renting for the rest of the year on GC is FE. I'll be enjoying Hulk on my Xbox, SOTC on my PS2, and UT2K4 on my PC. This is fucked up news.

You obviously didn't read the part of my post about the building blowing up if the game wasn't finished on time. Miyamoto matters because he's the link between the terrorists and Nintendo; either Nintendo lets him head the project, or the terrorists stop negotiating and everything goes up in flames.

When all else crumble, one man must stand tall and answer the call of duty. Heroes aren't born: they're made. This Christmas, a designer of heroes must learn how to become one himself. And so on.

It's absolutely terrible.

Of course some extra development time will make the game better.

But who is going to buy a GameCube game sometimes next year, even if it's Zelda and especially after the not-so-overwhelming Wind Waker?

Apart from being oen of the best games for GameCueb this release date could really destroy one of Nitnendo's best franchsises.

If there is any sense for the market left with Nintendo they should give the team not just another six months but another year and bring this game to Revolution for Christmas 06 in Japan and sometimes 2007 in the rest of the world.

I'm really looking forward to play this Zelda - but I don't understand how Nintendo can crush so much potential in sales. And as a Zelda fan myself who wants this game to be successful this delay is an absolutely horrible decision.

That post owned.

So, as a Zelda fan, you're more concerned with the game being successful than complete?

well, at least this means that Nintendo will probably has some games planned for GameCube in 2006, so hopefully retailers won't be removing too much shelf space...

So far then, assuming Twilight Princess is the only title knocked out so far, Fall 2005 looks like this:

Mario Baseball
Mario Strikers
Mario DDR
Mario Party 6
Fire Emblem
Odama
Pokemon XD
Geist

Out of those I think Mario DDR might actually be a big hit with regular consumers... during my time at Best Buy people were always looking for DDR+pad packages but we mostly had disc-only and 3rd party pads... Nintendo's official pad in good quantities should prove popular...

what the system could use is another Donkey Konga disc with like 50 songs or something... last holiday season Donkey Konga was a hit, and during the holiday multiplayer titles are always popular...

Wafflecopter is too.

Think about it, what else will there be coming out on the GC then? It will still sell more than enough.

No - just give me both. Delay this game and bring it on Revolution.

If I have to wait until April 2006 at the earliest I can wait another year. But don't release a great game and great franchsie on a system where it can't sell anymore because you will harm this franchise.
