The way I see it the stun bar changes are a net positive for stun agents as right now you would almost always use a support or caesar over them except in specific teams like qingyi+zhu yuan, the increased stun meter means pseudo stun agents like caesar are much worse at getting to the dps window where before you could fudge it. So essentially it's more of an even choice between getting to stun faster/potentially getting back to back stun windows due to the stunner ulting on 2nd rotation, vs having a useful buff from your defense/support agent that's active all the time

Yea totally agree with this. Caesar made stunners kinda obsolete since she came out. Today was the first time I had heard about these changes, but they all sound good to me. I actually like using Anby, Qingyi, and Koleda, so this makes it not feel like a loss/waste of party slots when I use them anyways lol.

I'm probably not pulling for Lighter since I wanna guarantee Miyabi and I'm due to lose a 50/50 one of these times, but they really did a great job with his marketing materials. First HoYo male that wasn't mostly catered to the fujo audience in a while.





I'll make a final call after trying out his demo mode stuff when the update hits. I think I read that he fills the same niche as Koleda who I already have kinda built, so...

Lighter is super cool and pretty strong, but right now assault procs are still too much for him to overcome, jane is still a good ~20 seconds faster in expert challenge, perhaps I need to build up lucy.
Will test in harder content later, but at the very least he'll do great in fire based content.

yes, but assault is too good, deletes mobs very quickly.
His daze performance is completely OD though, it's just stun city.

He works really well with seth, it's just too bad that locks you into using zhu yuan as your third to get the team up bonusses.

I'm assuming you're using seth to buff lighter.. but you could use anton, honestly if you were trying to use lighter as the main onfielder i'd use something like lighter rina corin or lighter nicole billy and just never use the attack characters except to dump EX during stuns

seth's also just works really nicely overall because of the free reverse quick assist he triggers after a parry, the amount of daze it builds up between the two of them is crazy.

Love that they're branching out a bit with the combos, but the game is designed around mash attack and none of this will matter in the face of """"optimal rotations"""" for best kill time. I've seen it a thousand times in HoYo games.

I would love to see just ONE of their game give score based on style points like DMC instead of being timer-based DPS checks. Just ONE.

figured I'd try for lighter C1, since I realised I also had 1200 shop residuals in stock, and worst case scenario I'd wind up with pity for the next character.
Spent 600 of the residuals, and 5k polys and beat the 50/50 again so now I have him C1.

Anyways, leaks are coming out about Haramusa and one of the more reliable theorycrafters is calling him "Aloy" which is referencing Aloy (from Horizon)as a guest character in Genshin as one of the worst characters in the game.

So yes we'll get him for free, but keep your expectations in check.

I love traditional single-player games, but I also like live service games a great deal (this year I've been playing a lot of Diablo 4, Helldivers 2, Zenless Zone Zero, plus a few other Gachas on the side like Nikke and HSR). I wish people would be more open minded and give these games a fair chance - especially to gachas since they have a very bad rep around here - rather than talking them down without even trying to understand them. I guess the audience for them just isn't here on GAF, and it's always a losing battle to try to convince people when they don't even want to hear about it

So yeah, sadly I think you're right. A gacha general OT would not get much traction around here, especially in the community part of the forum, where there's less activity than in the gaming section. :/

To be fair the latest beta version of Harumasa he was nerfed significantly, by like 30-40%. He's now worse than many of the 4*'s and I would expect some of the changes to be reverted.

Beauty of Free to Play games is that there's zero investment to try them out. Give each of them a try when you have some downtime and see if either click with you. They're both high quality games, not just .png collectors or idle stuff that doesn't require any gameplay, so I recommend both.

Good gameplay, tight action, nice looking characters, reasonable monetization, reasonable grinds, good music, and longevity or at least frequent support until it is over. Good story and acting are important too. I know that I cannot have all of that at once lol.

ZZZ satisfies the first 3, has good music, and is updated every 6 weeks with a new content patch. However, Hoyo games have very costly monetization so if it's a concern for you I would recommend you either avoid them or play them as an f2p, and set your expectations to only acquire 1/2-1/3 of every released character. Wuthering Waves has its own fanbase that enjoys it for its more involved combat gameplay, but it remains to be seen how well the game will run on PS5 since the game came out in a lackluster state technically and got lots of pushback for having poor performance. I also think the story and grind aren't very enjoyable in Wuwa. As for the grind... Hoyo games are fairly grindy and rely on a restrictive stamina system which is both a blessing and a curse. It's a blessing because you can log on and spend all your stamina within 5 minutes daily. It's a curse because often people want to play more but end up with nothing to do because most of the activities that result in account progression are locked behind stamina. Another caveat is that in the next patch, ZZZ is revamping and essentially soft-relaunching the game because at launch the game received a mixed reception since the beginning of the game is very very easy and the defining gimmick of "TV mode" didn't land with a lot of people - so I don't know how the experience will be changed and if it will be for better or for worse.

No problem, I'd also ask in the Wuwa thread as I didn't play the game very long and it seems the people that are still playing are saying the game has improved a lot - so they may have a better perspective on that game.

So did you guys read that they're actively reducing the TV mode gameplay stuff in the main story? Also going back and reducing the TV stuff for the existing main story and character stories.

On one hand, I think that too much TV mode was a drag, especially when poorly thought out like Archipelago mode, but on the other hand it gave you a nice break from spamming the combat gameplay over and over, and it was actually a really flexible interface for puzzles and minigames.

The combat is fun, stylish, and immersive, but it's relatively simple mechanically and you can really get bored with it when you spam combat stages over and over again, I've experienced that first hand. Also they clearly meant the TV mode to be where we play "as" Phaethon, since Belle/Wise are normal(?) people with a plot device "condition" ultra weakness to etheric corruption. Removing TV modes essentially removes them from the story and makes it just more dialogue dumps to get the main story lore, which I'm REALLY not fond of.

Anyways, just musing a bit, but I hope they don't ditch it entirely. There are good bones in there, they just have to figure out the balance. Shame to throw the baby out with the bathwater.

Yep, couldn't care less about him hence not even posting anything. I don't like his playstyle at all for ZZZ, but it could've been cool to see Streets of Rage 5 with such cool animations, super fast gameplay, combos, supers and such.

A gacha general OT would not get much traction around here, especially in the community part of the forum, where there's less activity than in the gaming section. :/

To illustrate both of ya points even more (and I'm sorry for bringing it up), on the purple forum ZZZ thread has 15 times more pages and countless posts everyday, so yeah, GAF is not Gacha forum in the slightest. Sometimes I wonder how Gacha OTs even exist here, let alone you in particular posting Gacha news and stuff.

Well then, I guess they actually decided to get rid of the TV for good. Honestly, can't say I'll cry about it, the latest event is complete BS and borefest. I hope they'll think of something better to replays TVs in the future.

P.S. I've 80% of pretty good discs for Miyabi already, only need to get the 5 and 6 one with AP sub stat and it's good to go. Gave them all to Corin for now just to take them away later.

I've second Piper's engine at max stats / lvl so I'll give it to Miyabi and don't need to worry about engine for her at all. Thank god I didn't get Lighter yet and there's 15 searches to go until guaranteed S rank, but it's 50/50 again so I might loose it, but we'll see.

Also, they're going to be gifting everyone 800 polys tomorrow + there's 600 polys at 1.4 launch and 10 exclusive tapes as a reward for 7 days login so it's almost 20 free searches.

Lurking in this thread, not posting a lot but I still play mostly gaccha games (ZZZ, Honkai and Wuwa). Same thing for my daugther, F2P both of us but our accounts are quite stacked.

Did a quick small test with C1 lighter vs C0 jane.
basically had lvl 70 dullahan in the training mode and simply timed how fast either of them could kill it.
The test was a bit in Lighter's favour because the team was jane/lighter/lucy, so no team up bonus for jane, plus I believe my jane is C or D, while lighter's fully upgraded to F; whenever daze accumulated I would only switch to lucy and then back to the main.

Jane did 1 time stun and 1 ultimate; 1m05s
Lighter did 2 time stun and 0 ultimate; 53s

So I think if all things were completely equal, jane's time would probably decrease by 10+ seconds and clear it faster than lighter; jane is still much better against random mobs though because of how strong assault is against them, but against bosses it seems fairly close.
