It's probably a counter response to people going nuts with excitement over a gif that shows cover shooting and QTEs. It would be pretty sad if this 'NEXT GEN' game revolves around 2 pretty lame/boring/uninspired gameplay mechanics. It's like AAA developers have 2 options these days: make FPS, make 3rd person cover shooter.

"Counter response" because some people are excited about a new game?

The game looks absolutely amazing to anyone with a functioning set of eyes... even with a flat wall texture. I can cherry pick even the most gorgeous of games, but it is pretty ridiculous to do so if in general it's drool-worthy. It is what it is.

I really like a lot of it. It's just the depressing ass fog and grey, grey, grey. It bugs me in the new Thief game, too. I'm totally down for some of that, but I hope we get some variety. Maybe we meet an exiled fairy prince and he takes us to his rainbow fairy land.

I can see what RAD meant when they said last gen tech couldn't realize their vision for this game. The Order just oozes atmosphere, the lighting, effects, animations, character models. Everything is top notch.
