The Order: 1886 leaks - new gifs, screenshots!

It would all depend if they are for sale. Not every game studio wishes to be bought out, some like to retain independence. After all, independence comes with greater rewards.

Also greater risks. Self funding AAA games will get tougher and tougher, that's why you barely see any AAA studios that are still independent. Sony would be a good fit for these guys anyways, Sony devs seem to have a lot of independence while still having that security and support of a company like Sony. I think it's inevitable, every time RAD talks about being bought out by Sony they try and change the subject, they never deny it.

Game has great graphics but not much else going for it. Hope it turns out to be something other than just another linear 3rd person shooter.

Great job!

They bought them because of their IPs. Read my post again.

They may have bought them for their IPs but their IPs are worthless now. So like I said. Don't play the appeal to authority, MS doesn't know that they're doing with their first party studio. And RAD wants to remain independent.

In real life you're safe as long as you are out of line of sight.

In TPS games lately they program a snap to cover mechanic which is the only way to be safe and that makes no sense. It should be enough that I'm LoS'ing enemies, yet they can still hit me because it's as if the wall doesn't exist unless you initiate the context sensitive action.

This leads to one-dimensional gameplay, just hide and auto regen without constantly having the need to be aware of your inch-perfect positioning and other such micro-management. It's just mindless, there is no gameplay depth.

they dont have autoregen ... you have to drink blackwater to regen . and soft body physics ... wait to see how much of cover is destructible etc etc ..

EDIT plus people have described the cover as more tlou than gears.

I'm not commenting on the game specifically, more about genre trends.

The gif gives me hope, I like the setting too.

I don't understand this response. It sounds like you're agreeing with me that MS has no reason to buy Ready at Dawn?

man i hope we collectively stop having a drama fit everytime someone doesn't like what they see

i mean i don't think noobsaaur is a prince but if you check his Gears post history, it is basically him ONLY talking about how rad the multiplayer is. And I don't know about that other guy and his opinion on whether this looks worse than Ryse, but guess what... PS4 exclusives haven't been that hot so far. Is that really a controversial opinion?

Can't we just critique what they're actually saying instead of plunging knee deep into this same cycle each time :P
I agree, noobasuar just keepin it real. He's a nintendo fanboy but his opinions about things are honest

Looks really good, and then...

Ewww at those bricks on the left side of the wall..

Hahaha thats exactly what caught my attention, when a game looks this good, simple things like flat texture bricks with little to no Normal mapping let alone tessellation catch the eye so quickly and pretty much spoil the whole screenshot.

Probably wont notice or care when actually playing the game but that screen shot is ruined for me.

Holy cow that looks amazing

I skipped most of it now because I want to see it from a higher quality vid tomorrow..but damn man

and IMHO graphical quality makes a huge difference in a game like this where the atmosphere and the environment play a vital role. So excited to see more of the game

Looks STUNNING in cloth physics, attention to detail, lighting and shadows, post processing, etc. WOW.

Unfortunately, the bricks in that screenshot are HIDEOUS, flat, and there seems to be a complete lack of anisotropic filtering.

Looking at the other bricks, they look fine to me. It's just that one, narrow texture.

As opposed to those dishonest opinions...?
By honest I just mean like how some guys have hidden agendas. For example, making a positive thread to counter a negative one. Downplaying X to make Y seem not as awful, these type of things, that secret sneakiness. Noobasuar just lays it out there.

Yup calling it now, this will be RAD's Uncharted. No doubt future installments will feature multiplayer.

Next gen arrives with this The Order 1886, at least visually. This game literally made me go and start paying off my PS4 purchase.

If the goal of whomever captured that footage was to make the game look as unappealing as possible then he/she certainly succeeded.

Ugh @ that long QTE fight. After The Last of Us, stuff like that is no longer impressive. Either make the entire fight playable, or just make it one fast animation and get on with the game.

Not nearly enough in these clips to make anything out aside from it looking great visually. Holding off on a real opinion until we get some extended gameplay, either tomorrow or at E3.

You're looking for "candid," which is not necessarily "honest." ;)

It's not really appropriate to be critiquing the game until we've seen the actual release tomorrow. It's really not fair to the devs, who have probably worked their arses off and deserve a proper unveiling.

Wait until we see more. The destruction, creative weapons, exploration, and crime scene investigation haven't been shown yet.

It's refreshing for someone to repeat their uninformed opinion over and over again. Because it's what they really feel.

If the goal of your post was to say nothing at all based on little to nothing at all you certainly succeeded.

It's a whole wall of them, though, and it's the only bricks we can see that are close enough and in focus. It also looks exactly like that one screenshot from a while back where Gallahad is behind brick cover and it's the same flat blurry bricks and what looks like no anisotropic filtering.

The game looks stunning, can't wait for the new trailer tomorrow. I'm not really a shooter fan but hopefully this game will help me break into the genre.
