Ubisoft: Watch_Dogs will run at 900p on PS4 and 792p on XB1, both at 30fps

Morin says it’s much more important to deliver an amazing next-gen experience than it is to push a few more pixels onto a screen.

What does this even mean? I'm really having hard time understanding this all.

Wondering PS360 resolutions...

it's shit like 792p that made me glad I finally built a PC. It's embarrassing that 792p is actually becoming a thing this gen.

edit: PS4/wiiu owner here so don't come at me with pc master race stuff.

How many months optimizing and they can't hit 1080p.

At sub 1080p, I really do think GTAV looks comparable.

Eh, I'll be playing on PC anyway.

Wait, what?

There are better looking and better performing games on PS4 at 1080p, why 900p?

Ubisoft needs to take the thumb out of their arse and optimise games properly.

Black Flag run like shit on my PC.

Knew that 1080p at 60fps line was too good to be true.

Also I never understand the 792p resolution. It seems several XB1 games use this - is there a reason for this as it's a really odd number?

This actually makes sense, someone in the other thread who played it at pax was complaining about the frame rate drops, if they had to choose between 1080p and frame rate drops or 900 with 30fps then I'd choose the steady frame rate.

what happened to that one german site that said it was 1080p/60 but with reduced graphic fidelity? maybe they went back on that and the effects will be better at the expense of resolution?

This gon b gud.

Also I will not buy sub 1080p games full price for my PS4 unless the publisher/game really has grabbed my balls. There are tons of games that run very smoothly 1080p with extremely good graphics to boot (InFamous being the main thing in my mind, but also most (all?) of the multiplats not named BF4.

What exactly does WD do to push the limits so much they can't hit Full HD 30fps? Cause I don't think I have seen anything THAT impressive for a single player game.

Then again I was never going to buy this game anyway so I'm just rambling here. Shame after apparently very good effort with AC4, and that was a launch game!

edit: I'm not really even a graphics whore. I'll gladly accept lesser graphics for native 1080p. Resolution is a big thing for me when it comes to next gen platforms.

Ah, 792p, we meet again!

You can easily tell the developers/publishers aversion to run their games at 720p because it is synonymous with last gen.
