A video like that easily quiets people who just want things like they used to be, but it doesn't change the facts, really. That is, it would be more interesting to have the dialogue equally split between snake and ocelot in a scene like that. Kojima just doesn't seem capable of working it out like that...or he refuses to. There's plenty of room for the facial animations to say things the character shouldn't have to, while developing snake as a character through dialogue that isn't just exposition dump or questions on a subject. We'll see when it's finally out, but I'm not holding my breath that he's learned his lesson on that front. I expect him to give BB the same heavy handed, preachy dialogue he always does when he finally gives the main character a chance to talk at length.
I think that it will all balance itself out by the game's end. I think Snake will ask a ton of questions as he wakes up from his coma, not say much until he finds Kaz, then give at least one "We are Diamond Dogs." speech a day, every day for the rest of his life. I think it's reasonable to expect the same "ratio" (if you will) of Snake dialogue to support character monologue as we got in Ground Zeroes, you know?
I was talking about the David Hayter Simulator vid. It's funny![]()
