We clearly need timeouts for offside decisions like this. Make it 2 timeouts per game for every team, that should be enough. Then the refs can have a better look at the scene on video. But this'll never happen i guess.

Doesn't have to be a timeout but just a Coach having 1 objection per half or per game against a Referee decision would be cool enough.
Goal doesn't count after a questionable offside call, Coach makes an objection, 4th referee takes a quick look on the sideline screen, done.

GLT is great mind you. You could perhaps do a Hawkeye like system for off sides but again it needs to be quick. Anything that requires the ref to leave the field to view a monitor is a fail.

The ref doesn't need to leave, just needs a radio like the refs in rugby do. Play already had to stop for the offside anyway, so why not wait to make sure if it was a goal?

Pay attention.

We're talking about the 'foul' in the lead up to goal not the clear off-side.
Any decision that has to be reviewed has to stop play. If the play continues and you pull it back that could be worse - if something significant happens. Video review works for goal line decisions and could work for off-side. But for fouls etc it more difficult.
