PlayStation Network Thread (Vita/PS3/PS4) | June 2014

Playing Totori for the first time my go to description was 'Fantasy anime slice of life'. Just in terms of narrative and presentation (gameplay is a whole 'nother beast of time management). It's a worthwhile series to get into because it eskews typical save the world antics in favour of a more mild ensemble piece.

You started with the best PS3/Vita Atelier game, you can't go wrong with Totori.

Top of the page: Pre-order Danganronpa 2 and Akiba's Trip 2!

Figure Id ask here since I didnt wanna create a topic for this, but I just imported a Japanese PS3. Is there anything I need to know?

Like do I need a transformer on a US outlet? A converter?

Also, I know you can set the language to English so thats good, but I heard for Japanese consoles the O button is actually the confirm button, much like our X button. Is this still true if I set it to english?

Im so use to X being the confirm button.

Edit: I rebought my PS3 after like over 2 years cause I wanted to play Persona 5 and Tales of Zestiria, among others I have missed.

Blog post is up.

XBlaze is getting a sale already. $27.19
Deception 4 (Vita) - $19.59 Plus

Deception 4 is tempting me. I don't know anything about XBlaze. Impressions? Will check the full blog later. The site is blocked here in the office.

EDIT: Aside from those two, DW8 seems to be the only other significant Vita game on sale. I guess nothing for me this week unless impression of those two games are good.

XBlaze is a visual novel that takes place a thousand years before the Blazblue games.

I heard resogun is $9.99 this week (USA)? Just picked up a ps4, and didn't know I could buy ps4 games from the web browser that were offered on plus.

Is Resogun worth it at full price anyways?

Also how is warframe and war thunder? Are they P2W

Thanks. Fond of VNs but I know little about the Blazblue franchise. Maybe the game's not for me.

I'm planning to get Deception IV but I don't know if I will be able to play it. June to September is pretty stacked as I still have lot of games in my backlog.

Resogun is actually on sale this week (down from $15 normally).

Warframe is my favorite F2P game on the PS4, but it's a bit complicated. I still don't think I'm playing it right after 10+ hours. It's definitely not pay-to-win though.

I don't know the first thing about Blazblue as well, but the game doesn't rely on that knowledge, it stands on its own.

Is this when it updates tomorrow? As its $15 still currently

War Thunder is awesome. It arguably has some of the best dogfighting ever to be had on consoles. Just be aware that it is very "simmy" and not "arcadey" like the ace combat series. It has a huge learning curve and is very deep. If you do decide to give it a shot, you may want to check out several tutorials on youtube first.

Still, I can't help but think that there might be references I'm missing if I start on the VN instead of the fighting game. That aside, I already got my VN fix somehow with DR2 coming so I think I got myself covered.

Enjoy the game :) Hope the impressions are good.

Anyone?

Also will I be able to log onto the PSN USA store automatically?

Look, I'm playing Gravity Rush!

PS3 power supply is 120-240V so you dont need a step down transformer.

Even if you set your language to English, the O button is fixed as the confirm button and the X button is the cancel button

US and Japan use the same outlet system, so I believe you should be fine. Accounts are handled by the servers, not the system - whatever region account you log in with will work fine with any PS3.

Great

So other than the annoyance of using O as the confirm button, I guess I am set.

To be fair, I bought a PS4 primarily for Rime and Everybody's Gone to the Rapture. I'm sure people who do that are in the minority.

Indeed, but the thing is... when all the larger streams are impenetrable fishing holes locked down by incontestable competition, fishing in many of the smaller streams that feed into the larger streams is a decent way to make a sustainable profit while it lasts. Some people don't save change, some do. There's never just one market and innumerable niches overlap into mainstream.

ROA's only redeeming point.

I bought it at launch and was really disappointed with it. Haven't beat it yet. I think I'm at the end and I have those kill 100 giants mission to do and just to think how long it would take I gave up. People were saying it was like PSO but it's quite far from being as good. It's really repetitive and boring and you don't get experience for doing quests and killing enemies. I can't imagine playing this without the Ace skills. At least you have some abilities in this one.

Yeah, I bought RO at launch and played a couple hours... wouldn't recommend it to anyone, but then I still bought ROA on day 1 to not play as well. I still plan to play it someday.

Same with SS & SSD.

smh @ me

SS& SSD are better games, they have some depth, there is a story and the online is great.

I've played all the "hunting" style games currently released on Vita in the West (other than the original Ragnarok Odyssey), and Soul Sacrifice Delta is clearly #1.

IMO;
  1. Soul Sacrifice Delta
  2. Toukiden
  3. Soul Sacrifice
  4. Ragnarok Odyssey ACE
  5. (Probably Ragnarok Odyssey, since it has to be worse than ACE)

Yeah, I actually only meant that me playing for an hour or so is the same, SS was actually really good, and it's very obvious from the start... just my attention deficit gaming habits got in the way.

I still have to buy Toukiden and let it collect dust for awhile, too.

You forgot Valhalla Knights 3.

Question for these trophies and alike
Swordsman Extraordinaire
Played extensively as Adol.

Master Huntress
Played extensively as Karna.

Etc.

Do I need to play it 5 hours straight or is it just a total 5 hours of playing each of the characters to unlock the trophies?
