Just got back from celebrating!!! MEXICO MEXICO MEXICO!!!

When Based Chicharito came, then a light was really lit on their asseses. Team got their shit together. All those goals. Soooo good.

Didn't like Croatia's handballs.

Glad Mexico won!!

Just done reading through the last 15 pages, that victory was glorious. I was really nervious all the way, but piojo didn't dissapoint. Rafita, Herrera and Peralta were inmense.

brilliant

i'm so proud of mexico today. i missed a good portion of the game since i went on a brewery tour, but i got to catch the tail end when all the goals were scored. incredible. here's hoping we can keep it up vs the dutch.

Guardado's celebration was hilarious. Last night Mordic said during a press confrence that Mexico's "knees are trembling"

Rio Ferdinand ✔ @rioferdy5
Neymar: 22yrs old, 53 games, 35 goals, 20 assists....that's illegal!! Dealing with pressure like a boss.

The way Neymar handles pressure really is amazing. Most people expected him to crumble since he is like, 40% of the team.

USA will lose to Germany. The apprentice will want to show up the master. But it won't matter anyway...coz Ghana are going to fuck it up against Portugal. Crabs in a barrel style.

After today, I'd say without Neymar Brazil would be already out, he's the only player who knows how to play football.

I dunno about that, I think Ghana is gonna wreck Portugal's shit. I agree about the US-Germany game. They are a machine that shows no mercy.

I was listening to Colin Cowherd. He was talking about the five extra minutes in the US game. He said that it was arbitrary but supposedly as US pays more for broadcasting rights then soccer will get better standards.

Americans can be delusional at times.

Your first mistake was listening to him.

We're not all blowhards like Cowherd. Don't lump us together thanks.

Cowherd links everything to TV ratings and payments.

You should never listen to him.

This world cup has seen real stoppage time. Most championships ww usually go for +1,+2 or +3.

+4, +5 make a lot more sense if you look at how much time the ball actually does not stay in play.

You listen to Cowherd and we are the delusional ones? Ok

So tomorrow's Costa Rica's (third) great day. We gonna show those englishmen how it's done.

Get ready for the flag gifs!

I anticipate Costa Rica destroying England, continuing CONCACAF domination.

Uruguay will beat Italy thanks to Suarez and advance.

I'm really worried that the US is going to fail to advance with Ghana beating us in goal differential. Ghana's a great team that will be playing for their survival and Portugal doesn't seem like they're even going to show up to the game. And our defense isn't nearly good enough to prevent Germany from getting multiple goals in if they try. Hopefully I'm wrong and we manage to get another tie and make it through.

I am almost glad PTI is off the air right now because I would blow my brains out listening to their WC observations, as I already do with any MMA/soccer coverage of theirs.

How many years, or world cups, has Mexico qualified to second round in a row now?

When was the last time Mexico didn't qualified to second round. Google'd it, Argentina 1978.
Before USA 94 Mexico's WC attendance was iffy at best going to every other one. 70 yes, 74 no, 78 yes, 82 no, 86 yes, 90 no.

Perfect attendance since 94 and has gone to Round of 16 in all 6 WCs and also has been defeated in Round of 16 in all of those. We'll see if the curse can be broken on this one.

Mexico's best result in WCs is only quarterfinals both in their home turf BUT in Mexico 70 there were no Round of 16 since there were only 16 nations. Mexico 86 there were 24 nations, they powered through Round of 16 and went defeated on penalties against Germany in quarterfinals in my home city of Monterrey. I was 8 months old but my parents were there haha.

Man, I'm so disappointed at Paulinho :(

I'm with Mexico. Mexicans were freaking awesome rooting for Brazil in 1970; it'd feel wrong if we didn't pay you guys back in the same coin.

There's a point where consistency turns into a curse.

You're going to have it tough against the Netherlands again.

Before the apprentice/master thing gets out of hand, let's not forget that Klinsi was mainly the motivational speaker while Jogi was responsible for the strategy/tactics behind the scenes. It was an open secret during Klinsi's tenure. They made for a good team and Klinsi is honestly one of the best possible fits the US team could ask for.

Remind me of the Phil Jackson/Tex Winter relationship.
