Banning players after a match is part of the rules. The referee will be asked if he saw it and made the decision not to do anything. If he says yes, nothing happens. If he says he DID NOT see it and thus made no decision either way, there can be a ban after the match.

Its clear he didnt see it. If he did, both would have gotten a red card.

I dont think you can blame the ref because the players were far from the action. If anything, the side ref should have seen it because that was near the offside line.

It will happen. Ex-ref on TV just broke down the process. FIFA will talk to the ref if he has seen it and if he did not they will go to the video. At that point there is no doubt he will be banned.

In my opinion, every continent should have at least 1 secure slot, it's a world cup, and every continent should be present.

One continent shouldn't have more than half the slots (which Europe had until 1998), heck I think 1/3 is too much, 10 slots max for Europe. I'm sorry if you have a hundred federations and you are super exited for that Lorraine against the Northern part of Northern Ireland, but in every world cup there are 3 or more European teams underperforming laughably, even if an european team wins the cup.

If we are going to have joke teams, at least let's give the opportunity to other continents, expand football, where are the southeastern asian teams? were is the middle east? Let's have more half spots and smaller areas to cover, let's give a chance to the rest of the world.
