What platform is the GZ shot from? Surely not PS4, it looks like absolute shit...

TPP shot looks great, though.
it looks like it's from the tgs showing of gz from last year. i think that video in particular was running on xbox one.

with that in mind, i think all released video of that demo was nowhere near the quality of the tpp demo video, so that might account for the quality drop too along with it running in 720p.

EDIT: also, having gone back and watched the video myself, the screencap from gz was while the camera was 'out of focus', hence why the details are so blurry.

Damn, I thought these were

"Devoured"

and

"Inside the abandoned child!"

The ground zeroes ones were bad. I miss the old font, which they still used for the control post status updates.

respectively.

It's Deep Inside actually lol, not deep down! I was thinking of Dragon's Dogma and Metal Gear when I wrote that.

But yeah, the font for the subtitles is a bit weird. And holy fucking shit at those MGSV:TPP Screencaps.

That's... quite the improvement.

Yo, real talk. I still think about the "I won't scatter your sorrow to the heartless sea." line Sutherland delivers. Can you imagine how potentially terrible the Hayter version of that would have been?

It's not like Hayter failed to deliver good lines in MGS3 during its heavier moments. I think Hayter was always told to give a very single dimension performance. It doesn't mean he couldn't have done more.

On the flip side, try imagining Sutherland have quirky side conversations to lighten up the mood.

Recall any? It's been a while. For some reason I remember the direction of the cutscenes being way more emotionally charged than his performance. But yeah I agree they didn't give him much to work with.

A lot of his altercation's with The Boss were good. His lines were limited by writing, but I think he sold the mood of a soldier torn between the duty to his country and his mentor.

I have a potentially zany theory after watching this again:

The knife in the trailer seems to be symbolic of something. We see Big Boss fighting against Eli using the knife, which he sticks in the ground next to Eli at the end of their battle, and we later see two soldiers (whose faces we can't see) in a similar fight, using the same knife. Could this be indicative of a timeskip where Eli (Liquid), who has taken the knife with him, has joined Diamond Dogs under Big Boss? The next time we see the knife on screen is right when the "abandoned child" part of the lyrics kick in.

No offense, but the link says 720p60fps... And that version has terrible sound quality for some reason too.

I really want a 1080p version from IGN too... Like really bad... I mean, my "best" version of the trailer so far is a custom edit I made that used the 1080p30pfs japanease trailer as a base, then edited to switch the Japanese text cards with the 720p text cards from the us version, then implementing the english V.A in the end part by hand... It's okay, but it had a minor detail loss due to my tweaking in video editing software and it's not 60 FPS... Plus it's huge...

Yeah... I'm completely serious when I say cutscenes like this have no business being 60 fps. It looks wrong, like it's shot on video. Gross.

I kinda agree with you. When I look at these in-game, they tend to look fine, but 60 FPS trailers always seem unnatural to me. The camera movements are exaggerated and you seem to see twice a much defects per second, making it seem more artificial than it should. I guess it's because the human eye is so trained to watching videos at 24/30 FPS... Anyway, I'm uploading my 1080p 30 FPS rip as we speak if anyone is interested, might as well share anyway.

EDIT : Uploaded the 1080p 30 FPS version with the higher quality version of Nuclear, then english voice overs and the english text screens. 320ish MB.. So this might take a while to download.

That's the only 60fps version of that trailer, no offense.

hmmm, want to watch while playing through a run of MGS 2 but does this have many Ground Zeros spoilers?

Film is generally projected 24fps so there's no way it looks like the majority of films. The Hobbit 1 was something like 48fps so it is trying to emulate real life more so than film historically.

I thought that as well, but i think the knife itself might be symbolic. For example what if the knives are the diamonds they make out of their fallen brothers since they carry them into battle might as well be useful gear.

Uguu~ eye WOUGHNT scatturrrrr your sorrow (grumble grumble) to the heartless see...... urrrrrrrgggggggggh.

HEARTLESS SEA?!

Anyone care to guess how many more trailers we'll get before it launches?
I'm gonna go with two, one of which obviously being a launch trailer. I just can't wait any longer :(

Does anyone want to accompany me on a sneaking mission in to Kojima Productions HQ? Infact, you don't even have to come, just provide additional intel by radio.

I see this one from IGN that's 1080p60fps.

Same here, I think about a lot of things from the trailer since I saw it but the final line definitely sticks out. And yeah I'd have a very different reaction if Hayter did the line.

Damnit stop posting the Nuclear trailer because I watch it every time you post it.

Now that its really sunk in, I think its in top tier of Kojima's best trailers. If I ever saw a live action version of it my mind would be blown. Everything about the details, shots, blaring song/lyrics, and choice dialogue at the end is just so captivating.

Great point.

*grumble grumble* We are Diamond Dogs. *grumble*

I think about that everytime I watch the trailer. Just imagining Hayter saying that line makes me chuckle. I think we all imagine him saying it the exact same way too.

"I won't scatter your sorrowgh to the heartless seaghghh. I will always be with youghghgh".

Finally saw the video. It was great!!!! I loved the mother base stuff in peace walker and the Fulton stuff. Now I can pick up everything I want. So I'm guessing this is the same mother base in peace walker (post attack) so I hope you can get the same shooting range and the obstacle course in that game.
