Fighting Games Weekly | June 30 - July 6 | Judge, Juri & EGsecutioner

I think I'd take any of Nintendo's d-pads (sans GCN/GBA) over any of Sony's.

I've had a pretty strong dislike for Sony's d-pad design since 1995 and I don't see that ever changing. I'm continually baffled at its popularity.
 
GG's to Beef, Karst, Onemic, and everyone else I played in that lobby.

If you guys have any advice on which character you think I should stick with, or any tips to improve, I'd really, really appreciate it with Evo coming up and what-not.

I feel the same, honestly. I much prefer the d-pad on the Wii U gamepad/Pro Controller than the Dualshock 4, personally.

Same, I've never been able to get used to any of the Dualshocks' pads :/

Dualshock d-pad is the best.

How do you even do qcf attacks on a wii remote let alone semi-circle or full-circle motions? Those d-pads are stiff as hell.

There's no way wolv is ahead of zero. He's ahead of everyone listed because he needs the least amount of resources to do his job, and he does it more safely. Zero on top
 
Sega better than Sony for Genesis and Saturn controllers. I am not a fan of the D pad on the Dreamcast.

Definitely agree on Microsoft having the worst out of the console makers.
 
What gets me is NRS and their lack of throwing in anything. They made the most money out of any other company on Injustice and MK, like a lot more, but yet look at how pathetic the overall pot is. People are always talking about how great they are to deal with and this and that but then goes blowing up Capcom and other companies about their lack of having anything to do with their game. You don't see NRS having a pro tour or anything of the likes. I just hate the hypocrisy.
 
Can't wait for the Super Smash Bros pro tour.
Grand prize in the world tournament will be lower than Evo's pot.

Of course they'll have their own rules too.

How do you do a qcf on a dualshock lol, even the bargain bin $10 Logitech controllers have a better dpad.
 
They have no reason to push Injustice when Mortal Kombat X's coming.
All the DLC and everything's out, pretty safe to say they're done with it.

Using Blanka. Fireballs in this game are ass, I am tired of dealing with the headache. All of the best characters have dive kicks. I like Blanka except for his ridiculously stupid Ultra 2 input. It kills me so many matches.

I would generally agree with this if you made it Sega > Nintendo > Sony >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> (continues) >>> MS. I can't comprehend how the hell anyone plays fighting games (or anything) on the 360's d-pad, which is sad because the rest of the controller is pretty damn good.

As an aside, the d-pad on the analog Saturn pad was pretty ass.

Wasn't Evo 2009 steamed on IGN as well? There's been some goofy one-off arrangements (like the one year Evo was available in Playstation Home... random as all hell).

I also started reading the comments in that article... that was a mistake, and now I'm looking for the IQ points I just lost.

And although I've been critical on what Capcom has done to him in Ultra, he's still a better character than Blanka. He's just harder to win with when first starting out unless you rely only on his gimmicks.

While her she's not an amazing zoner, have you tried learning Juri? Or is she one of the characters' designs that don't click for you?

Spooky confirmed on twitter that the same team that streamed EVO last year is doing it this year. He said it's some kind of news thing.

There is nothing else to play, and I am tired of Marvel's netcode. I want to like it, but it is so hard. I will pick Skullgirls up full time once Eliza releases, and I have GGXrd and P4U to look forward to.

I like Oni aesthetically. He sucks though, which stresses me out.

What? WB/MK has sponsored multiple tournmanets during the span of MK9's life. CEO and Season's Beatings being important majors with pot bonuses/prizes and EVO's huge ass pot back in 2012.

Injustice? WB supported the game again with another 5,000 for last year's EVO. NetherRealm's added more stuff regarding balance changes/compatibility for tournaments for that game alone. Hell even recently they migrated MK9's netcode to something new when they really didn't have to considering how dead MK9 is.

Them not supporting injustice now is obviously because of MKX. I'm not faulting Capcom, Arc, or anything/anyone else not showing support for their games (especially considering I should since Arc/Atlus sent P4A out to die, SNK/Atlus provided a fucking statue iirc, etc.) But I don't think you need a 'pro tour' or something as a sign of you supporting a game's competitive longevity.

Nah, I have always thought this, and I benefit a ton from invincibility with both Oni and Blanks.

Just watch videos of players like Daigo walking up to people and DPing them on oki. What is that if not random?

Resources needed has been irrelevent since TAC Infinites. Plus Wolverine beats Zero now. If you want talk about minimal resources then Firebrand would be #1.

But Im a show me guy so why don't you show me actual top Zeros winning consistantly against the Top Wolverines. Time will show.

...but Blanka is worse than Oni though....

If you're looking for a high tier character Blanka is definitely very low on that list. He just does well online.
