It makes sense he would have photos of her approaching him, especially since I think after it became obvious there was going to be a problem he took every opportunity to make it worse. I don't know how his camera works, so even if he did think to take video it may not have been so easy.

It just seems very strange to me that you want desperately to believe the entire thing is a lie. He's an ignorant fuck, but you would have to believe he's the stupidest person on earth for it to be a total fabrication.

Taking photos of her does not make assaulting him right, but somehow I highly doubt that he was at all respectful about it or that he didn't do a thing to provoke her. The infuriating thing is he's relying on the idea that people so easily believe that any and all black people are capable of going from 0 to violent with no provocation at all

I like this. I think the problem Anthony faced is that he has very much of a "who's with me" attitude on the radio and when you're behind the microphone and having people call you on the phone agreeing with you all day long eventually you start to believe your own bullshit. The thing he forgot is that this stuff doesn't play in the real world and in the real world there are people who don't necessarily agree with 100% of what you say. He got out from behind the protection of his mic, he got put into a real world situation, he tried his radio shtick, and it failed miserably.

Unfortunately, this will work out for him just fine. Right now I'm sure media handlers are contacting him to figure out this "first amendment" style character that has been wronged by a society that suppresses free speech. So here is our champion behind the microphone who "tells it like it is."

It does, in the sense that two people lost their cool and said racially-charged insults.

It does not, however, in the sense that Michael Richards had never displayed any behavior of the sort (of which I'm personally aware), and it kinda came out of left field for his fans. Ant, on the other hand, said the same thing he's said for 20 years, and it caught nobody who knew his body of work by surprise.

Personally, I think M. Richards just had a breakdown and thought of the meanest shit he could think of.because he couldn't handle being heckled. Mr. Cumia's rant, on the other hand, is more indicative of deeper criticisms and prejudices he bears toward American black people. Michael Richards may very well be a super racist, but as far as I know this was an isolated public incident. With Ant, it wasn't an isolated incident at all.

I think for most of us, it's important to understand that we aren't saying we are surprised Ant got fired for saying racist stuff... basically, we are surprised it took this long if it was ever going to happen. There was a time when maybe they were untouchable as far as satellite radio personalities go... but those days are in the past, with the end of their show imminent anyway.
