What's so hard about understanding why teams in concacaf root for each other? I mean, fuck, it's a confederation that always gets called shitty and doesn't consist of the best players in the world. Is it bad to want soccer to grow close to where you are and also show how much its grown when teams in the confederation are competing in the WC? Both Mexico and Costa Rica caused problems for Netherlands and other teams considered to be much better than them.

He's taller with a better reach so I guess they just played the numbers. As long as he guesses right which I believe he did on every try he has a better chance of getting to it.

People calling it anti-football are ignoring the qualitative differences between CRC and NED (aka 'reality'). They survived 2h against the better team, that's always an achievement.

Exactly. Not only are the dutch the fitter, pacier and technically more competent side, they're also very talented when it comes to punishing on the counterattack. You're damn right they were aware of that. Costa Rica did amazing to hold them off for that long. And not to forget that there were times in that game near the end that Costa Rica looked like scoring.

He had saved 2 in 20. Other keeper never saved a single one. Probably did it in training too, he went the right way every time I think.

Kinda bitter about the way Belgium went out. The match was terrible on both sides, which sucked after we had such an exciting game against the States. They just couldn't create chances, but it's not like Argentina dominated either. It's a shame we had to go out in such a boring waste of a match. Courtois beating Messi was an awesome moment though, great to see his own little personal victory.

The US game showed off the team's potential, but it didn't come out in the other games. Everyone expected more of Hazard for example, especially this last game.

When FRA GER was going on, I kept hoping Belgium wouldn't go out like France (with a whimper), but they did.

Ghana tied them, USA game was fixed, Algeria forced Germany into Extra Time and the set piece against France was awarded from diving.

Of course. We got outplayed, that much was obvious from the get go. I think it wouldn't have felt right if we had won, though we still did a good job and I hate everyone talking about Costa Rica's "anti football" now.
