Do we know the final number of subclasses per class?

We have two of them in our inventory in Beta, but have three slots. One is empty.

I mean.. the fact that there is another slot there is pretty strong evidence that there will be another subclass at some point. But there's no telling whether that will be in for launch.

Scout Rifles are also viable.

They're viable, but AR's can shoot at the same range, faster and get headshots left and right. I got away doing fairly decently with a Hand Cannon for a long time before I found my AR yesterday. You give up nothing when you have an AR over anything else.

Yal are missing out on the Semi

The AR is nice and all but... Don't let this talk of being the only good primary ruin you.

I assumed they were quest rewards or something that we unlock later in the game, so we naturally wouldn't just have them sitting in our inventories. IIRC, the level 15 ones weren't in our inventories in Alpha.

lmao

indeed.

The timing of this is brutal, the rest of the beta is going to go way to quickly I can tell.

Tried out the Warlock this time and am enjoying it more than I thought I would. I thought I would be Titan all days all times, but looks like I will mix it up a bit more.

Do we have any info on what the max level cap is going to be in the retail release? I'm curious if the leveling is accelerated for the beta (it felt more so for the alpha, but might be a trick of memory versus reality).

I know for normal PvP weapons and health are normalized, but is there any specific info on that yet? How many bullets kill, TTK numbers, any of that? I haven't done any PvP in the beta yet, but my experience in the alpha was hit or miss. Seemed like get a vehicle (or turret if you want to get sniped) or have your super charged up, otherwise make yourself hidden. I'm looking forward to it once the beta returns, but definitely want to go in with friends, lonewolfing seems like it would really suck for this MP (not quality-wise but fun-wise).

I like how they dealt with the no respawing zones and playing the story missions on hard was a pretty good challenge (when going solo). I was kind of bummed when I was running into an area playing story mode that a guy I had randomly encountered magically disappeared right when I could have used him because I hit one of those zones. I like how when going in random the strikes will match you up so was kind of disappointed there wasn't an option for that in the story mode. Maybe there is a way to team up with random people out in the world to create a fireteam for the story portions but I didn't see it.

I am also in the camp that am hopeful for a good story. The story missions with the beta made me more interested to see where it goes.

Biggest satisfaction so far - Running into people out in the world and forming ad hoc groups, especially for public events (this was true of the alpha as well).

Biggest disappointment so far - The removal of the wizard from the moon line

Though AR has one small disadvantage in PvP
It can't deal enormous amounts of damage in a short time
By short time, I mean half-seconds
Like, you can't shoot someone out of a super with an AR easily, but you can with a Hand Cannon
Most of the time the super will come out so suddenly that it doesn't make a difference. That, and the fact that there is a quick defensive buff added to Titans, at least, when they activate theirs. I've been cheated out of kills because of the defense boost given to them by their super.

I'm not having much luck with Destiny. Never got into the Alpha, had a convoluted time getting my beta code to work. Finally able to download the client last night, get about five mins of the tutorial level done, sit down for a first proper go of it this evening and I see that it's offline...for two days. I doubt I'll be able to play it at all at this rate. Heh.

Scout Rifles honestly can hang with AR from all distances with just hipfire alone. They are pretty much my go to primary in PVP
This.

You don't HAVE to ADS at every encounter.

There's hardly definitive must-have strategies when it comes to loadouts through all situations.

I tried using Scouts in PvP recently, and... it works.

It definitely feels like a better use-case when you're fighting mid-range and you're catching someone off-guard without wanting to get too close.

.

I am already missing this game. Just two things that bother me.. The Iron Banner event was for 2 hours only. I couldnt take a part in it. I hope events will be longer than that in the final game.

And the Super for Hunter is not as good as Titan's or Warlock's. I wont even call it a super at all tbh. If there wasnt a timer on it, then it would have been better.
One shot kills and the ability to destroy vehicles and mounts in one or two shots. I fail too see what's wrong with it, it's extremely powerful.

Question: has it been said whether or not PS4 can play with XBOXONE users? I only saw an article saying PS3 could not play with PS4 users, etc.

No cross-platform play of any kind. I believe they said characters would be tied to your PSN/XBL ID rather than a specific system, but that's it.

Yeah, Hand Cannons can hip fire from long range and remain accurate. But between the hip fire for the scout rifle and auto rifle, it's about the same accuracy.

How do day/night cycles work in this game?

i.e. what determines the time of day that will be represented when I visit the Tower or random areas of Earth?

This...hipfire is super good with some guns. On the whole scout vs. Auto rifles...i use the ar on iron banner because it works better but in normal pvp this is the gun to use...super powerful and easy to use and accurate in hipfire

Simply not true. At a range I absolutely destroy with the scout rifle. It's just not as easy to get head shots with a auto rifle, but even if it was the damage probably falls off considering the much lower range stat bar.

That's actually a perk they unlock

So been playing the beta since the start and loving it!

And now with the down time I wanted to place a pre-order but is it me or are there no ps3 limited/ghost editions in Europe(I'm in the Netherlands)?
All the limited/ghost editions I can find are the ps4/xbone and for the ps3 I can only find stores in the U.S.

So what's the deal, no special editions for ps3 in Europe? Anybody any info or verification?

Each instance of a given area is on a 60-minute cycle, though I'm not sure if there's any continuity when you re-enter an area.

The other two can do that, but they also have splash damage for extra kills. You only get 3 kills out of the golden gun.
You can't really aim titan much and the nova has a projectile effect so at the end of the day you have to be familiar with it if you want to shoot it far away. At the end of the day most people will end up killing 2 or 3 with their super so I hardly see the injustice tbh

What hunters lack in insta kill they make up in being able to time their three and aim it and get it further away.

So happy to see all the Scout Rifle love in this thread! I used Auto Rifles and did fairly well with them, but once I learned how to effectively use a Scout Rifle, I did much better and my K/D started rising.
<3 my Jigoku SR3.

Now that you mention it, I think I remember seeing the perk in the Alpha.

However, I've started to come to terms with it. Now, I just walk away from those encounters waving my fist while thinking "You're lucky you had that defense. Your ass was mine."

Unless you get some fortunate line-ups for multikills. However, Warlock and Titan have better room-clearing supers.
The Hunter still has the worst start up to the 3 supers. Who thought it was a good idea to have your hunter stop and jump up onto the air to start you super?

Iv countered that by using the super before entering the battle or doing it in the air. But it still sucks.

That's not very appealing.

I like the World of Warcraft system where it basically matches real-time day and night, except dawn and dusk last for several hours because it's so beautiful.

I guess there more AOE abilities and the hunter is just kills that need to be done quick.

I get that the Titan and Warlock's super would be better for scenarios such as a group of four are capturing the flag and you can take them all out at once, but the hunters super makes up for that in other areas.

Oh, I agree wholeheartedly. However, I love going against a Hunter who is foolish enough to activate it in front of me.

Scouts are so good for hipfire. Fuck ADS.

We are talking about just PvP, right? Makes sense for those shorter distances.

Because in PvE, you're not going to get as frequent critical yellow hits as when aiming down sights. It's just a waste of time avoiding the ADS in PvE unless if those Thralls are running at you or if you're close to enemies.

<3 my Jigoku SR3.

I was a doubter at first, but when I realised that it was utterly stupid of me in the first place to run into a gunfight and started... pacing myself better, I found that the room for mid-range combat actually leans in favour of Scouts. And I learned to use my Fusion better.

Slowly rising that K/D from 0.8s to 1.5s...

I don't see how its any more hard to get headshots with the AR. I mean, I know you guys are mainly just fighting the scout rifle hate, but I often land most of my AR shots at the head it feels like. It takes people down extremely quick.

The GG is absolutely more versatile. You don't panic mash it in the middle of a fight like Titans with their super. You plan it out. You minimize all risk and prioritize. 3 "good" kills can turn a match around. That's a driver, heavy machine gunner, and sniper when a Titan or Warlock on their best day is nothing but a glorified rocket launcher.

It isn't something you just activate to save your ass.

Some of the upgrades for golden gun should help. Like killing eneimes with it causes them to explode. Which will be awesome.

This is what happened to me. I run less, pay attention to my motion sensor more, and stay mindful of the common routes everyone takes on a map.

And I main Scout Rifles in PVE as well, though I do rotate between all gun types. I really like semi-autos. The FAL in MW2, SKS in BF3/4...
