Did you even read the OP?Wow the gap still growing.
About time DF seen the difference from big gap resolution as they was able to see last gen with much smaller.

To the people bitter about parity or claiming Bungie is gimping the PS4 version, do you guys realize that this is a business and resources aren't infinite?
Unfortunately, yes.

Still amazed with some peoples perception that the PS4 is a super high end gaming PC and the XB1 is on the level of the Wii U.
Or the XB1 can do more than people give it credit for in the right hands?
Here as in gaf, go to the beta thread or the 360/one impression thread
We do it all the timeI'm sure if you're $500 dollar GPU was forced to run Destiny only at console settings, you'd be pretty upset.
No offense to the quoted poster but I wonder if anyone else is getting sick of the sub-tone (or overt criticism) of the devs.
In developing a multi-platform title what is the business justification for pushing what amounts to "polishing" on one platform over another?
If there's a performance difference (as there appears to be at the moment according to DF) then I'm interested to hear and read about it and the devs should address it as best they can as I sure they are trying.
But trying for 10 petals on the flowers of the PS4 version instead of 5 on the XBO version is a waste of time.
Agree, the AA is bad, awful under some light conditions.
This...
Don't get me wrong, I don't expect Destiny to run at 60fps.But to know how a game will perform? There's a ton of factors. Imagine late game Destiny with a huge amount of endgame enemies on screen at once, possibly on a larger scale arena. It's a safe bet the PS4 version will maintain a performance advantaged in scenarios like this anyway, and it could also be something that made the FPS fluctuate like crazy at 60. Or it could be something engine related.
I might be wrong but I have the feeling there are some people who would argue that.
We do it all the timeLike the Watch Dogs secret settings outrage, when we angrily suspected the PC version was toned down from E3 version for console parity.

What was the business justification between SNES/Genesis multiplatforms? PS1/N64 multiplatforms? PS2/XBOX/GC multiplatforms?
Seems kinda crazy that only now we need business cases for things that have been happening for something like 20-30 years.
Gamers on the Internet have put high value on the resolution of games, Bungie has made the decision to pander to them at the potential cost of other graphical effects.
Ugh.. FFS at least just turn on 2xAA Bungie.
What do you mean?
...Would bungie be able to get more out of the PS4 software through optimization? Of course. You can ALWAYS optimize more. But it seems they decided to optimize the XB1 version as much as possible to achieve 1080p instead. That's how I see it from a programmer perspective.
I'm sure if you're $500 dollar GPU was forced to run Destiny only at console settings, you'd be pretty upset. Not really comparable, but still.
Lots of people have been doing this since X360 and PS3 came out
You're missing their entire point. .
Bungie has experience with the XB1 architecture as it is similar to the 360 with the ESRAM setup. Bungie stated that MS parachuted a team in to show them how to effectively use the architecture of the XB1 right after the June SDK. I would think Bungie's familiarity with this type of setup would allow them to take advantage of the 10% more than other developers.
This. This whole generation so far has sent devs to prioritize pixel counts over how the game looks and performs.
"Realistically" the Xbone is clearly weaker than the PS4.closing the gap on a PS4 system has yet to hit it's full potential.
I have both and played the beta on both and they're both great looking and playing.
I'm a gameplay over graphics sort of guy anyway.
I will be buying on both systems so I can play with all my friends.
I just think that saying that it's catching up, when realistically at this stage we should see both consoles on a par.
there have been some really suspect choices in hardware by Microsoft, essentially them doing a 180 on the always online part is going to cause it to struggle, as essentially no developer in a single player campaign can take advantage of the microsoft servers to free up gpu so they can make games look better.
There's nothing about the XB1 components that say it cant run a modern game at 1080p at 30fps
Mind pointing me to someone who actually thinks that? Trying to downplay the obvious hardware differences with such an extreme example (that no one actually believes) is crazy man.
The fact is, the PS4 is stronger, and not in some insignificant matter. Being at full parity means that Bungie held back the PS4 version to maintain the parity. Or perhaps it means something else, but what could that be? The only way to achieve parity is by gimping one for the lowest common denominator. It's not a conspiracy theory.
Question is "why"?
Ps4 users do not deserve their game to be the best thing they can achive on ps4 hardware too?
Their money is less valuable?
Those people are just as annoying.
The PS4 is always going to get some better performing games, it's simply more powerful.
The PC is always going to get some better looking and performing games, it's potentially more powerful.
Despite this, it's absolutely ridiculous to expect every single company in the world to push their games specifically for one system. Especially if they're releasing across 3, 4, or 5 platforms. I'd say that is asking a lot.
If it's JUST a X1/PS4 release I would probably expect an edge to the PS4. If it's a PS4 exclusive I expect an all out effort to create something amazing.
This isn't the case with this game, yet it's beautiful to look at (the art and those sky-boxes). And again, repeating myself, it was originally only hitting 900p. Hopefully 1080p doesn't bring it down.
As an Xbox One guy, I hope the bump to 1080p doesn't sacrifice the smooth framerate. I've been loving the performance of the beta.
Funny how some people here we're talking about how "terrible" the beta looked on the xbox one compared to ps4
It feels so smooth on X1. Played PS4 up to yesterday and this feels smoother.
I hope making it 1080p does not ruin this.
Also.. playing with X1 controller.. just feels right. The rumble effects are so much more nuanced in the controller and trigger too.

They did say they were going for graphical parity though that's the sad part...They didn't go for parity. One has tons more content...you know, the stuff that really really matters.
Going by your posting history....you!!!!
I believe money was spent on making content for the game and a lot of it is PS4 only. Can't get more non-parity than that.

So Xbone is catching up?
Then fucking quote him/her on when they said it. That's the proof you need to provide. I have never, EVER, seen anyone say such a thing, especially not dragonborn. Sounds like you're just making shit up.Going by your posting history....you!!!!
Them IGN compressed pics lol.
I actually prefer the XB1 HUD not due to being flat but the angled design on the PS4 version looks a little blurry/overlapped on the icons, weapon templates and other areas. You can see in the pic below.
