is this what chelsea fans say to make themselves feel like the underdogs?

Manchester City still have the better squad.

I think City had a better squad last season, but we have a much better manager and we've made signings where we needed too. Look at how close we came to success last season with that squad - it wasn't a bad one, but we didn't have a prolific striker and we lacked the ability to win against teams outside of the top 4 (bizarrely)

Still some deadwood to clear out, just seen us linked with Varanne again too.

Juventus had their first friendly today against an Eccellenza team called Lucento and we lost 3-2, loooooooool.

Juve Starting XI: Storari; Motta, Sorensen, Ogbonna, Barlocco; Pepe, Marrone, Padoin; Giovinco, Llorente, Tevez.

Jesus Christ that midfield.

I've lost count how many Southampton players have gone and how many are going. At this rate they're going to have to call Le Tissier and Le Saux out of retirement.

Well tbh it's about time they put their foot down, they can't just keep selling players unless clubs overpays for them like crazy.

He's come out to say he wants out a couple of times. Can definitely see him handing in a transfer request. He won't get to the top level at Southampton, especially now that they've sold pretty much the core of their team to Man Utd and Liverpool. Doubt he'll want to spend the better parts of his career as part of a project. If he was 4 years younger, maybe.

That Guardian article has an interesting tidbit about Arsenals board wanting to find an in house solution, or at least a British one rather than signing a foreign midfielder.

Guess who have in the squad already? Nobody. Guess how many good British CDM there are? 0.

"Wenger, though, is under pressure from boardroom level to retain the British identity of his team and, also, to work with his existing options in central midfield."

Where do they come up with this bullshit?

What's the squad situation like with regards to homegrown for the CL?

Yeah, kroenke and usmanov really care about british talent.

When has Wenger ever answered to the board? He does whatever the fuck he wants when it comes to transfers.

Can you imagine:

--------------Carroll---------------
Ince-----------------------------Zaha
------Wilshire-----Clev------------
--------------Spearing-------------
Bertrand-Jones-Smalling-Kelly
-----------------Butland--------------

what might have been

That team would have got to the knockout round in the World Cup.

Not buying it, especially when up until now everything we have heard is that the Board say Wenger can spend, but he is the one dragging his feet.

We have a good group of British players and 8 homegrown players.

Gibbs, Jenkinson, Ox, Theo, Ramsey, Wilshere, Szczesny. No issues at all.

Coquelin. If we get Schneiderlin he counts also.

Agree with a lot of it, but some of it is bullshit:

"His statement hints at a player who has been lavished with praise from an early age and who -- whatever his public pronouncements -- has taken that acclaim to heart, who has decided that he does not need to improve, that he is worth the hype."

Also think the fact that he had a great season 5 years ago overshadows the fact that he is only 22. People are saying this is a make or break season, which is ludicrous.

Well the evidence for that is, he's a snidey wee shite

Aside from knowing Pochettino, there is literally no reason Schneiderlin would choose Spurs over Arsenal

Surprised it's still being talked about as a possibility

Probably just paper talk.

More money, CL, starting role, French mates, better chance at winning trophies.

Doubt he leaves now unless he makes a stink and puts in a request.

Wenger confirmed Ospina

"You know at the start Szczensy will be the No. 1, then again we'll be down to performances and, if Ospina shows that he is better, he will play," he said

For the opening game next year.

£27m for Schneirderlin is batshit but they are entitled to dig in, he's the only established top player they've got left. For that money I'd rather buy Griezmann and let Sandro and Capoue have a go.
