”She, along with the March4Trump Organization, is seeking to unite the nation together in support of our newly elected president," organizers said in a statement. ”The goal of these marches and rallies are to peacefully unite all people. March 4Trump is seeking only individuals who wish to spread love rather than hate, unite rather than divide, and support rather than resistance."

LOL what total disingenuous shits

The Intercept hire and are run by morons and generally not good people

Not a big fan of Charlie Baker, but he announced today any federal cuts to Planned Parenthood in MA will be offset with state funds. Good on him.

Just a GOP congressman (Roger Marshall, R-KS) using Jesus' words as a means to castigate the poor.

The news that Sessions met with the ambassador with other Trump staff actually means he lied twice to Franken. Franken asked if there was, "If there is any evidence that anyone from the Trump campaign communicated with anyone from the Russian government, what will you do?"

And Sessions starts off, "I'm not aware of any of those activities."

This is totally separate from whether Sessions met anyone.

The reason "the left" loses is that they will support literally any person, regardless of how evil, if that person dislikes America.

Rania Khalek had a UNC talk about how The Jews are behind police killing black people in America canceled because a bunch of Muslims contacted a Muslim group hosting the talk and told that group that Khalek had given talks defending the Assad regime and declaring that Sunni Muslims were behind most violence in the Middle East. This lead to Khalek claiming she was being silenced and starved and then she started online begging for $6000. And now Socialists are sending her the money.

This is why you guys make up 0.75% of American voters. Because you're dumb af and have no ideology and morals other than hating America.

I know a guy who probably donated to this. And yes, he has moved from political ideology to political ideology with the only common thread being "shock people around me." He was reasonable for a while here in Mississippi, but then he moved to Burlington, VT (3 guesses why) and now that he can't rely on "I support gay marriage" to get people mad at him, he's started posting GoFundMe's for people that claim to have burned down businesses in the name of the War on Capitalism and Totally Not Anarchy.

Carter Page's interview reminded me of that scene in Spotlight where the Priest was openly admitting that he was abusing kids. In other words, Page seems so deep into Russian bullshit that it seems like part of him really wants to be like.. "What? There's nothing wrong with this, come on."

Their normalization of their own corruption is biting them hard now; it's a lot harder to cover stuff up if you don't think you should have to in the first place.

Cross posting this from the Brexit thread. What is it about conservatives everywhere failing to identify irony? Are they missing the genes or something?

Mrs May also noted the close trading relationship between Scotland and the rest of the UK. “The SNP wants to wrench Scotland out of its biggest market… It simply does not add up,” she said, adding that “a tunnel-vision nationalism that focuses only on independence at any cost sells Scotland short”.

They do it on purpose to try and negate their own actions... t's why you hear about coming together and peace and love and all that shit from Trump folks

Van Jones and CNN look like even bigger fucking idiots for their fawning over Trump's Congress address now.

Can we stop caring about Van Jones? He said some thing you don't agree with. I don't agree either. It's just dumb to me to attack someone like Van Jones when there are real issues we should focus on, and stop attacking our own side for ever saying anything positive about Trump. I think he was obviously just commenting on the tone Trump had achieved and not even on the substance, which he disagrees on.

I don't even think Van Jones is completely wrong about Trump. We need to concern ourselves about Trump's tone as much as his substance, because Trump voters are swayed by tone. It's worrying that we focus on Van Jones when it's Trump's tone that is the issue. And ultimately larger issues anyway.

tl;dr attacking van jones achieves nothing

People like Van Jones make it easier for Trump to get away with shit when they sit back and stop holding him to the fire because he tied his shoes like a big boy.

Why Van Jones and CNN can go fuck themselves.

In Trump’s first speech before Congress, he promised to poison our nation’s drinking water, build a cartoon wall, and fund a special taskforce whose sole purpose is to fan the flames of anti-immigrant hysteria. But to hear the media talk about it the next day, it was a class act that marked his transition from sniffling carnival barker to respectable figure. As if racist ideas are any less loathsome if you say them in measured tones and refrain from talking about your genitals.

By convincing the fourth estate to normalize the unconscionable, Trump got the upper hand on a frenemy he had heretofore struggled to control. At least he must live with the knowledge that he had 9 million fewer viewers than Obama.

I think Jones is acknowledging something that should not be ignored. I think by acknowledging where Trump does well, we are less likely to be blind sided by something like a Trump presidency, something he apparently was one of few liberals to warn about in the first place.

Saying "Trump will win re-election so as he gives daily speeches of empty rhetoric like this one" is a completely asinine point to make, no matter who you are.

Except he didn't do well he just tied his shoe, and Van Jones basically did the CNN equivalent of some Gaffer going we're gonna have 8 years of Trump.

This nonsense probably doesn't help either.

He said that? About what? The whole address?

I agree with you. I just don't see the point in attacking jones for disagreeing. I don't think what he said makes him pro-trump or any less anti-trump.

I mean I'm making fun of him on a video game message board...

And pro or anti isn't the point. You can be anti and still bend over backwards into uselessness

Regarding this Van Jones thing, yeah, they should be held accountable to, not just their "normalizing" of Trump, but their short fucking memories.

How many times did we go through this song & dance during the election? Trump would give one speech where he didn't shit his pants, be called "presidential", then go right back to shitting his pants. Repeatedly!

The Trump from Tuesday night was an abortion, an anomaly that will rarely, if ever, happen again.

How does the media keep getting suckered into this?

The shit he's doing with Schumer now, for example, THAT is exactly who he is, and who he will remain being for the rest of his miserable life. And to say he's changed or that he's pivoted, is to be blind to history. I can understand this from his supporters, but the media, no, fuck no. They should know better.

So Sanders and Danny Glover are doing a union march in Mississippi.

– Citing a pattern of civil rights abuses by Nissan against its predominantly African-American workforce in Mississippi, U.S. Sen. Bernie Sanders, actor Danny Glover, NAACP President Cornell William Brooks and hundreds of workers, civil rights leaders, and social justice advocates will converge on the automaker’s factory in Canton Saturday to demand that the company respect its workers’ right to vote for a union free from fear and intimidation.

The March on Mississippi – expected to be the largest protest to hit the Magnolia State in years – follows a series of rallies at Nissan dealerships that swept across the South last month. At each protest, local clergy and civil rights leaders hand-delivered letters detailing unsafe working conditions and mistreatment of workers in Canton — and calling for an end to the company’s anti-union hostility. Of the roughly 5,000 workers at the plant, an estimated 80 percent are African-American.

Maybe feeling guilty for knowingly endangering the entire human race for some short-term profits?

Tillerson understands the importance of soft power and prestige. Better to be in the agreement and just do nothing rather than be out of the agreement. That's the lesson learned from America abandoning the League of Nations, you don't have to do anything meaningful, but having a seat at the table is huge for optics.

So we still need candidates in Virginia House of Delegates. I've highlighted the districts where Warner got over 40% of the vote:

http://bluevirginia.us/2017/02/2017-virginia-democratic-house-candidates-district

HD-7 (40% Mark Warner district; Montgomery, Pulaski, Floyd Counties): No Democrats currently running against Del. Nick Rush (R).

HD-54 (41% Mark Warner district; Spotsylvania, Caroline Counties): No Democrats currently running against Del. Bobby Orrock (R).

HD-60 (46% Mark Warner district; Halifax, Prince Edward, Charlotte, Campbell Counties): No Democrats currently running against Del. James Edmunds (R).

HD-61 (42% Mark Warner district; Mecklenburg, Nottoway, Amelia, Cumberland, Lunenburg Counties): No Democrats currently running against Del. Tommy Wright (R).

HD-76 (46% Mark Warner district; Suffolk and Chesapeake Cities): No Democrats currently running against Del. Chris Jones (R).

HD-82 (41% Mark Warner district; Virginia Beach City): No Democrats currently running against Del. Jason Miyares (R).

HD-83 (44% Mark Warner district; Virginia Beach and Norfolk Cities): No Democrats currently running against Del. Chris Stolle (R)

HD-84 (46% Mark Warner district; Virginia Beach City): No Democrats currently running against Del. Glenn Davis.

HD-99 (41% Mark Warner district; King George, Westmoreland, Northumberland, Lancaster, Richmond and Caroline Counties): No Democrats currently running against Del. Margaret Ransone (R)

We should compete in these districts.
