On July 25 and July 26, Nintendo will stream Nintendo Challenge Live, a stage show hosted from the Nintendo Gaming Lounge that features intense tournament competition and awesome game-play challenges from some of the hottest upcoming games on Nintendo platforms. Fans can open their browsers to http://www.twitch.tv/nintendo to catch all of the action and stick around for hours to soak in all the festivities.

Nintendo will be hosting its first-ever tournament for the Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS game. Tournament slots are limited for the one-day event, and fans will be able to sign up the day of the event on a first-come, first-served basis. The full tournament will be streamed at http://www.twitch.tv/nintendo. The tournament will be conducted using the E3 version of the game. This version represents a game still in development and may not represent the final quality and balance of the game, which launches on Oct. 3.
Some info about the Super Smash Bros. for 3DS tournament:
- It will be played on the E3 build, as stated above
- Scar and Toph are the commentators
- Top players such as FRQ.HugS, LuCKy, Westballz, and other Socal locals will be in attendance. These players were pre-seeded into the 1v1 bracket and did not take spots away from others attending.
- 4 minute FFAs in early portions; 1 player moves on. 1v1 no items in the later portion of bracket
- Double Elimination
- Round 1 matches all take place on the Spirit Train stage
- 128 players
- 2 Gaffers, Anth0ny and RomanceDawn, are going to partake in the tournament so root for them! :)

NOTE: Super Smash Bros. for 3DS matches seem to have lag due to the wireless interference at the venue. There have been many impressions that have not experienced lag, so it seems there is a lot of interference.

Larry won using Bowser won the tournament.

The Smash Tournament should be fun.
But I'm really excited to see the TreeHouse gang show off the goods.

So i heard its starts as FFA with items then will be moving to 1v1 no items later in the bracket. Probably not gonna watch until 1v1s start.

I guess my question is, how good are the two GAF reps? Any possibility of them actually winning despite some legit top-level competition?

ヽ༼ຈل͜ຈ༽ノ Praise the 3DS version ヽ༼ຈل͜ຈ༽ノ

Still no word on youtube? I wonder if they'll take advantage of twitch 60fps

They really should. I think it would benefit Nintendo a lot because a lot their games are running at 60fps. I also would really like 60fps trailers when Youtube really starts doing more with 60fps.
