At one point tonight, Michael Brown protesters chanted "hands up, don't shoot!"
Darren Wilson supporters responded: "Shoot! Shoot! Shoot!"

Was about to post this very tweet.
Now you see the violence inherent in the system.

You aren't kidding. Holy shit.Riverview and Bell Neighbors need a federal investigation into their hiring practice immediately.
Bizarrely, the New York Post felt the complusion to "support" the NYPD, whatever that means:

I never understood how a conservative paper like the NY Post flourishes in the most liberal city in America. Is it because of upstate?
I'm sure its already been posted, but the crowd sourced fundraising for Darren Wilson ($235,010) surpassed that of the money raised for Michael Brown's family ($208,000 )

Well yeah, but shooting at him while running away is a big deal, no? He clearly tried to hit Brown when his back was turned. Just because Wilson may have finally hit Brown while Brown was facing Wilson doesn't change that. That's not what that says.
It says he did shoot at mike was running away, unless I missed something. It doesn't say Mike didn't charge after turning around. Which is apparently the story Wilson's side is saying.
the problem is you can call them racists all you want but they'll never realize it. in their world they are not racist, they just appreciate and defend cops to a fault. michael brown was a legitimate thug in their eyes. you could sit down with them and have a civil 8 hour discussion with them about racism and it would still never click.
Clicked expecting "Whip It" or "Gut Feeling" or something. disappointed :/Sounds like Devo. :#

The small city of Jennings, Mo., had a police department so troubled, and with so much tension between white officers and black residents, that the city council finally decided to disband it. Everyone in the Jennings police department was fired. New officers were brought in to create a credible department from scratch.
Police faced a series of lawsuits for using unnecessary force, Stichnote said. One black resident, Cassandra Fuller, sued the department claiming a white Jennings police officer beat her in June 2009 on her own porch after she made a joke. A car had smashed into her van, which was parked in front of her home, and she called police. The responding officer asked her to move the van. “It don’t run. You can take it home with you if you want,” she answered. She said the officer became enraged, threw her off the porch, knocked her to the ground and kicked her in the stomach…
Already covered?
Darren Wilsons first job was on a troubled police force disbanded by authorities
it's quite an interesting read

so does this mean we can judge wilson for his past actions or is that not allowed?
Mentally ill i guess ahem
I find it troubling that a fired officer finds a job so easily. I think that black mark on your record should be difficult to overcome.
Okay. I've changed my mind.
No reason for my College Police to have 100 m16a1's
I mean. There is a history of students 'rioting' but nothing in the level of 100 fucking m16a1's.
I think they do out themselves to people who are on the fence on the issue or who haven't gotten the full story from whatever news program they watch.i personally feel it is what it is. treat them as white noise and just follow and fight for what you believe in. that's all you can really do.
they're a distraction and if people keep focusing on them too much there's going to be a lot of energy that is legitimately wasted.
Showed the John Oliver vid to my mother. Instantly caused her to reevaluate her opinion on the whole situation.
sad how a comedian is more informative than a news repo...ah fuck it
Obama sending White House aides to Ferguson funeral
EDGARTOWN, Mass. - President Barack Obama is sending three White House officials to the funeral service of the Missouri teenager whose death in a police shooting in Ferguson, Missouri, has sparked days of racial unrest.
Leading the group for Monday's service will be the chairman of the My Brother's Keeper Task Force, Broderick Johnson. My Brother's Keeper is an Obama initiative that aims to empower young minorities. Johnson is also the secretary for the Cabinet.
Also attending will be the deputy director of the White House Office of Public Engagement, Marlon Marshall, and an adviser for the office, Heather Foster.
The White House says Marshall is a St. Louis native and attended high school with Brown's mother.
