I counted 11 shots. 5 shots after the pause (two were really close together). Dude who live tweeted the shooting counted 5 after Brown was surrendering.
Edit: Might have been six. I can't fully tell.

Michael Brown's father at his funeral
...
How can someone as a father donate to a man for killing another mans son? People protesting for Darren Wilson are so inhumane..
As a father, I feel for Brown's father. As a father, I've donated to Darren Wilson. How you might ask? If my kid was in to some stupid shit and wound up killed by a cop in some confrontation, I'd want answers. But I'd also be aware that my kid might be in the wrong and that might not like the answers I find.
That being said, if Darren Wilson were my son, I'd want him to protect himself while on the job. If accused of wrong doing, I'd want him to get a fair shake.
Why did you donate to Darren Wilson? Is he in need of money? This is the thing I'm most confused by regarding those donations.
A good attorney is expensive.

Wouldn't the state pay for that?
This makes absolutely no sense. As a father you can put yourself in the shoes of both side's fathers but instead of remaining neutral you side with the guy that can still hug his father? Because hey he's the one that needs the fair shake? Mental gymnastics. As a father, I feel for Brown's father. As a father, I've donated to Darren Wilson. How you might ask? Might help pay the inevitable civil suit/settlement. I'll laugh if those funds end up being used to pay the Brown family.
At the very least Wilson is collectable now and can't claim poverty.
Nope. The state provided attorneys are not the best for any defense. Usually they prefer accepting a plea bargain to save time and save the state money. They have more cases than time.Wouldn't the state pay for that?
are you convinced he hasn't done anything wrong?
I'm not convinced of anything quite yet.

He's having a 'video chat' with a 'friend'...just doing...normal...whatever you do...Just listened to the audio recording? Was this dude watching porn or something when he recorded this? Who is he telling is pretty and so fine?
You're convinced enough to donate to the killer. You say there's the possibility were it your son he could have been in the wrong... But the flip side of that is were the cop your son he could have murdered someone in cold blood. You only seemed to have entertained and donated based on one side of things.I'm not convinced of anything quite yet.
Police departments do, officers do not. If that makes sense. Department attorneys are city/state paid top of the line attorneys for civil suits. Criminal attorneys are not paid for by the department. Usually the Union will find an attorney willing to defend officers, but they are mid-tier. Which is good, but not the best.Fair enough then. I just figured police departments had good lawyers on retainer.
I thought police unions offer legal support and lawyers?
So why give him money?

Skullface, did you listen to the gun shots audio?
Because I believe he may be innocent. With all the media attention, public figures and attention from the federal government, his cost for defense is going to be far above the average Joe's. I want to see that he gets his trial and an adequate defense.
I did, but I question it's veracity.

He's not an average Joe so his personal costs are going to be practically nil. It's the peasants who have to pay, not the King's Men.Because I believe he may be innocent. Aren't you jumping the gun a bit, since he hasn't even been indicted? Which is the whole point of all the protests?

I understand this sentiment, but I feel like you should donate for both sides to make sure they both get good lawyers for a fair shot. (bear in mind, I don't know if a lawyer offered to come in for Mike Brown at a great discount or something. I feel like I heard that but my brain has been silly lately.)
Do you think the audio was altered, or from a different location/time?
(I'm of the mindset that the audio doesn't wholly prove Officer Wilson as a guilty party. There a lot we don't know without being able to see the event.)
So you believe Brown deserved it?
But I'd also be aware that my kid might be in the wrong and that might not like the answers I find.
Come on now, there's no way you actually think I believe that, certainly not from that post you quoted.
That's the implication of your first post, yes.Come on now, there's no way you actually think I believe that, certainly not from that post you quoted.

Just curious as to what crime your kid could commit that you'd be fine with him being killed by a cop as he was apparently surrendering.
The neighbor could have been playing Call of Duty too. When ever an officer discharges a fire arm, each bullet needs to be accounted for. I heard 10-11 shots. If it comes out that 10-11 shots were discharged, maybe we have something. This could have been a guy on the phone during the 4th of July for all I know.
If you think Wilson is innocent, what other conclusion can I draw?
