Racing genre crowded? There's not a single 4 wheel sim racing game on ps4 right now, and probably won't be for at least a year if not 2. You got MotoGP 14 as a sim choice, that's it.

Will DC, FH2, or the Crew fit the bill for those of us who want to race a GT3 series in the rain or at night on the Ring or at dawn on Zolder? Nope, definitley not..

Why it's popular is because it's community assisted in it's creation. People helped shape the game from what tracks and cars to focus on, and constantly gave feedback on physics and feel. It's popular because It's a got a fantastic track list and a decent variety of cars.

There's not a lot of sim options out there period, even with GT coming. More options is a good thing IMO. Even Forza fans may want to take a look to race on some different tracks along with variable weather and time of day.
 
Needs Logitech support, SMS pls, just put a customizable mode in the options and do the same thing as that war game that recognises all usb devices.

Somebody ask them about this on their forums.
 
I think it'll be fantastic with Morpheus as well.
Really no other sim racer in sight on PS4.
I love the low camera angle and open cockpit.
Whether or not this gets a purchase depends on if Sony and Logitech can work together to make the Logitech GT wheel work with PS4.

This is exactly what I was saying - people don't really understand what this game is and just see 'another racer'. I think some people are trying to view everything as a competition as well.

Looks great, from the footage I've seen so far I would even go as far as saying it's the best looking game I've ever seen.
 
Looks OK given the garbage as usual youtube quality. The blur filter on the mirrors/cockpit looks screwed up sometimes. Also rain on the helmet looks like it's raining inside it.

Visually you just know GT7 is going to exceed this on the PS4 at least.

Heck yeah Seanspeed. They need to market this a bit more so people understand what kind of game it is. Project C.A.R.S. is a bit vague to the average fan.

No, not that big at all, you're right. And that's why I'm so damn excited this is actually coming out on console. Forza and GT are pretty much it otherwise.

I say this all the time in sim threads but what I wouldn't give for a fully licensed FIA GT/DTM/ALMS/TUDOR sim. DTM will happen with RR:RE though. But just not enough of a market for a specific series out there though.

Somewhat popular, but niche market for sure. Definitley more risky on console than PC, see CM games becoming more arcade to grab that ever elusive casual racing fan.

I think GT sells quite a bit by brand name alone at this point. Plus, GT and FM are broad enough to appeal to several types of racing fans too, tuners, drifters, motorsport fans, painters in FM, etc.

I cannot wait for this game to get here. I've been excited for it since Ian Bell first talked about the concept when they split from EA's contract right after Shift 2 released. Going to be a very fun, very customizable racing sim.

I hope Forza and GT add more settings like any time of day with weather. Gives a game more more variety on the same tracks.

Edit- Cygnus, Race Pro was one of my favorite games last gen. Shame it got such terrible support from Atari post launch. At least SimBin were able to sneak in the DLC packs before Atari dropped them.
 
Very excited for this. Will be picking it up alongside Driveclub and Forza Horizon 2, probably skipping The Crew. Amazing fall for racing games, a lot of variety and titles filling different niches.

It looked OK in places, but i hope the rest of it is just due to the earlyness of the game build. The blurring looked woeful, how the dials came in and out of focus created weird effects (around 47 seconds in), as did the blur on the mirrors, and the rain drops looked crap, not just because they were inside the helmet, but moreso due to their slowness.. this is a race car going fast and the drops are moving like gelatin. I also spotted some clipping at around the 35 second mark.. the racing line is above the track, and it just clips through the cars, which looks horrible.
 
Initial gut reaction while I was watching the PS4 footage says I will not play this. However, if the Morpheus support is legit then I might try it.

IQ-through-bruteforce is pretty much the only thing PCars PC trumps Driveclub in, stop kidding yourselves.

Tough to make that comparison..because it's gonna take a significantly more powerful machine to run PCars @ 4k/60fps with high level AA...

PCars isn't gonna look as good as DC on a PC of similar specs to the PS4/Xbone...at least not at 4k/60 with the AA cranked up...
 
Honestly, this is probably the worst looking console race announced so far. It even looks worse than forza 5. That video is just sad, it looks like crap.
