Halo: The Master Chief Collection - Lockout 1080p/60fps footage

wow!
such lies!
much deceit!
so stinkles!

:D

but maps, yeah...

Weird,

The dual-wielding pistol/SMG section - pistol SFX nullifies the SMG entirely. Guessing that's a bug.

SMG still sounds way crazy for what the weapon actually is though.

edit: Just saw the de-orange-ified.

Looks nice in screenshots, but watching the video, those areas are, at least, well lit in terms of contrast/general lighting of the scene. The orange works fine.

As been said in this thread the warm color tint looks pretty bad. They should change it to a blue tint at night like the original Lockout.

It look far more foreboding in the original version.

Read carefully. Everything in that response was true.

...yeah, along with "Rest assured your next Halo journey WILL begin in 2014.", I don't think misleading half-truths and technically true statements pass muster for me anymore.

I have no idea why you guys are doing this, but I don't like it. I imagine that most people don't mind, though -- I'd personally prefer the silent approach myself. I get the impression that this is the kind of statement that actively encourages the "leaker" culture.

I don't mean to sound combative, but the gaming industry has had its fair share of "this screenshot is technically from the game!" and other misleading happenings as a constant. I don't see why engage and encourage it, even if it appears harmless.

yeah, language can be a very misleading tool :pP ask any politician, my friend

so, how many maps?

edit: 2025 chill re :)

I'm quite chilled, I edited in the last part after noticing that it sounded too aggressive :)
But I think it's relevant to add a bit of my opinion into how the community has been handled regarding the plan for Halo, particularly since Stinkles has (in large part correctly, in my view) rallied against the culture of leaks.

I understand that marketing and timing of reveal is an important decision. I just don't think their approach to dealing with it has been the best one.

...I realize I'm very much shitting on the pot in a very nice thread, though. So apologies for that :)

Okay, no offense - really - just trying to understand:

previous quote said:
but it is absolutely NOT H2A and nobody is currently working on any such thing.
But Saber WAS working on it at that time, no? Or did they start later?

I think my english language skills are not good enough and I am missing something there ...

@2025
yeah, bottom line for the community, we get a master chief collection in less than a year that console is out, plus the beta to start 2015 in a ..proper way :)
so, everything looks to be going fantastic for the community, plus frankie gets to keep his job by not posting a message back then that went like "oh shit! you guys discovered us.. so heres what's gonna happen:.." :D

Either way it's irrelevant. Even if everything he said was technically true, it encourages people to extract any possible meaning they can from his statements, in which case what he says can mean anything.

Yeah I was just fuckin around anyways. Just meant that if Frankie said "no DLC"... It may not necessarily mean "no DLC."

U guys cray

Nobody was working on H2A?

...at the time he pressed the "post reply" button, yes, could very well be.
next working day morning, another subject though :D

anyway, lets move on to ...MORE FOOTAGE!!!?
if I was at the other side of the atlantic these days, I'd sure take a detour to seattle...

Just noticed he even wrote "currently not working ..." Okay, now I get it :)

Hmm. He said something similiar about Halo Wars 2 - he used "not at the moment" there. Interesting ....

Is it confirmed 1080p60fps across or just for mp? Replaying all the campaigns in 1080p60fps is making me consider an Xbone.
Everything will be 1080p - SP and MP. The only thing they are not sure on yet is H2A SP.

Last I remember hearing the Halo 2 Anniversary campaign wasn't necessarily 1080p, but maybe they were able to get it up to that. I believe everything's 60fps though.

Or they were working on MCC, just not H2A. Seems like a lot of work to throw together so quickly otherwise.

Halo CEA didn't start development until 2011. Since all the work for this collection is being split up between different teams it is very possible that development started after May 2013.

All are 1080p60 (Campaigns and Multiplayer), except Halo 2 Anniversary Campaign, still not confirmed what resolution it will be. I would love it if they gave the option to turn off the mode that allows you to see the old graphics if that is holding it back from being 1080p.

Yeah I have to just take your word on that... Bc I have no idea. That's why I said " it seems"...

Either way, just fucking around. DLC INBOUND!

Look, you can either have industry people contribute meaningfully to the forum, or you can create a simple logic barrier that prevents them from ever commenting on anything at all. If I have to be vague, or cagey, that's just the way it is. And it really is either that or complete radio silence.

I won't apologize for it, I can't simply say "no comment" every time someone makes an accurate guess, or a fake leak contains a nugget of truth. However, if you (and I mean the community as a whole) feels that the level of clarity available is a negative, it's actually MUCH easier to not post at all.

It's not like I get paid extra to be insulted and mocked in here. I do it mostly to hurt Ramirez.

I believe that at Gamescom the H2A campaign was 921p or something in that ball park. Hopefully they can up that to 1080p, if not it's not a huge loss.

I agree completely.

Yeah, if not, give us the option to turn off the ability to see the original Halo 2 graphics if it will push it to 1080p (of course, if that is what is holding it back).

I'd prefer you post for what its worth :)

I will only support you on here if you demand to higher ups to unlock digital preorders at local time zones.... :). It's times like these that it sucks living on the East Coast of the U.S., having digital preorders unlock at 3:01AM EST sucks.

I agree.

I want to be honest. Sadly it is a evidence of incapacity for this community that an industries person, who writes very regulary and extensive here, needs to write down something like that. Sometimes I feel ashamed for the overall lack of respect on NeoGAF.

Personally, I want to say thank you for contributing here and being an active part of the Halo community.

What kind of reply is this? Horribly rude.

I prefer vague teases over nothing at all and appreciate your contributions to the Halo community here :)

NeoGAF continues to be a special place; a neutral ground for fans and developers to have intelligent discussion and debate and I'd hate to see it turn into a whiny echo chamber that scares away the people who help create the things we are all so passionate about.

so quit lying STANKLES!!!!!!1

But I love you, Frankie.

I think I speak for most of us when I say that I prefer posting Frankie to non-posting Frankie.

Besides, I like unraveling the (benign) doublespeak. So by all means, continue :)
