Would I like Doom Patrol? Are there any strong female characters?

Regarding the idea of Ilivia Wilde playing Catwoman: I don't know if she looks like Catwoman to me (she's definitely too skinny), but she'd definitely nail the sexiness part. I never thought much of her looks, but that scene she did in her (which is a beautiful movie I love for completely different reasons) was so hot I felt like I was discovering my body again.

Aaand I don't know if I should've shared that :|

She was perfect looking in Tron Legacy. She was in super good shape.

Too skinny? Catwoman is always stupidly skinny.

Granted Olivia doesnt have the chest to play Catwoman, but neither did Anne Hathaway.

But yes, I will say she would nail the sexyness of Catwoman.

Fuck responsibilities. Buy everything.

Freeza and all those over at the Funko thread got me started on those things as well.

That baby dancing Groot is amazing. Hope it's not janky.

Where do I apply for my membership card. I have been in these threads for ~3 months and am already close to filling up my first Billy bookshelf.

At Baltimore Comic con, Greg Capullo will be done with his Batman run and will go back to his creator owned The Creech with Scott Snyder writing.

There has been no announcement of Scott leaving also. So that's 16 more issues with Greg Capullo art in them.

No :(

I never got the amazing 'Wilde for Cockburn' tag. Which works on multiple levels. So I won't hold my breath for a Harley one.

I mean, Snyder did say he had at least 50 issues in him, so, that lines up

If Capullo and Snyder don't do a proper storyline with Ivy before Capullo leaves I will be very sad. I'll even take an issue at this point.

I am sure some of you are really excited for this. I am not saying this based off of quality. But is it really a good idea to bring back the old team when they are so busy trying to establish the current Guardians to the general public? Does this not muddy the waters and make it harder for marvel?

I am probably wrong, Guardians is the hottest shit right now. So I doubt they have to worry about confusion anymore. I am just thinking about the person who goes into the store sees Guardians and picks it up and doesn't get what they are expecting. Does that happen? There is a big influx of people interested in GoTG right now.

Tim! Tim! They're here

The used vol 4 has a bit more wear and tear then i'd like but I wanted to keep everything in HC form. Still the overall quality of the stuff that counts is in good shape

Time to clear my weekend schedule and move these to the top. My first foray into pure kirby stuff and forth world (beyond it showing up in other books i've read over the years)

Oh and the dogs are back from the groomers! Here are my dogs Vader and Obi Wan (Vader is the larger one)

That's a good looking stack of books. Let me know when you get two volume 2 and I'll try and read along with you (I reread volume 1 a couple weeks ago).

Funny how you blame me when I wasn't even into them a week ago. Hell, I don't even think that Funko thread was there a week ago. I almost bought the Xenomorph from Alien, today. Held off, though. I'll probably buy it at some point.

I am there too, I just lurk mostly.

Messi is there for the pictures.

Honestly, though, compared to the sheer number of those things that exist, the amount I would consider owning is infintesimally small. I mostly like the non-human ones. Not the plain, boring ones with beady little eyes.

I had to stage an intervention on myself because I was going crazy with floppies. Until I squash my backlog I'm on hiatus from floppies. Comics!

Yo, Johns' Superman is fucking great. I haven't been interested in a solo Superman book in a minute, but this is a great start. It's kind of shocking that this is the same dude writing the current Justice League, because that's pretty bad.

I do like the pictures, but I have a secret desire to own way too many of them. The dodgy paintjobs at times put me off buying loads of them. The recently announced Orange is the new black pops will most likely be mine. All of them, whoever they are. Also Firefly.

Punisher 13 cover, lol

I ordered Vegeta, right? Amazon updated my order and told me I wouldn't get it until October and that it's technically sold out.

Cell is the only one I've seen in person so far. I keep patrolling Hot Topic waiting for Earth 2 Batman. They do seem to get regular shipments of them. They had Cake from Adventure Time, which I almost bought.

First day I was shopping in florida I went to Hot topic, seen Arkham Harley, picked it up and thought cool ill pick this up in the next few days. I never seen it again. I asked the staff and they said if you see one just grab it that they go super quick as they are exclusives :((

Eh screw it, I'm too lazy to get all my pictures from my phone to here, so I'll just use words.

My IST box with the Hellboy Library Editions ended up probably a bit bigger than a freaking mini-fridge. Just so massive, and most of the mass was dedicated to packing peanuts.

Also, from my local con I got:
Batman Beyond: Hush Beyond, Industrial Revolution, 10'000 Clowns, Justice League Beyond: Konstriction, and Batgirl Beyond. Looks like I apparently missed another Justice League Beyond and a Superman Beyond (which I didn't think to look for). Are those worth tracking down?

Also got Transformers: More than Meets the Eye Vol. #1, Robots in Disguise Vol. #4, Dark Prelude, and Last Stand of the Wreckers. So I have some definite gaps to fill in here. (Unfortunately, most places there just had an ungodly number of movie tie-ins and a few old comics I don't think I would've needed to pick up. And I didn't really see any Turtles. It seems rare to find much IDW at this thing in general, to be honest).

Also, just let me say that I hate, hate, HATE that almost every damn con booth does the thing where they just longbox trades and you have to flip through each individual book to see what the hell it is. At least when they alphabetize it's manageable, but about half of them don't and I kind of gave up eventually gave up because it's frustrating flipping through the same unorganized to crap to see if there's something interesting in there. I guess I'm just too used to the convenience of manga being placed spine up so you can immediately see what it is at cons.

Oh, and I got a surprising amount of manga. This turned out to be one of those years where they had surprisingly solid stock and good prices. Also, how hard is it to cancel an item on IST? It's too late now, but I saw the two Hellboy Library Editions I'm waiting on IST to get in for half off, so if I was certain I could've managed that I could've saved a few bucks and had them immediately.

Kipp

but I am taking tiny steps forward
Well, I read Doom Patrol 59 and 60 today. They were definitely the most full-on action issues of the whole run, which was a cool change of pace.
Most imporantly though, the Candlemaker is THE most badass villain design ever. I couldn't get enough of those splash pages of him.

Definitely gonna finish tomorrow, which will be very bittersweet.

Half off Hellboy Library Editions? Awesome.

I seriously can't believe Marvel looked at Punisher #10 after the events in Ferguson and didn't think "yeah, no, now is maybe not the time to release a comic where a white man calls mexican people thugs who only deserve to be killed while his lady cop friends shoots a guy in the back, and is portrayed during her disciplinary hearing as being needed because otherwise the city would fall into chaos".

It is seriously the grossest fucking thing I have ever fucking read. It is vile. It is disgusting.

It's a Greg Rucka comic, Expect strong female protagonist and a good story.
Yup that's Rucka's M.O in almost any book he writes. Which is funny how the OT still seems spun up on the silly spider woman variant cover and the messages it sends. Meanwhile Ruck just kills it with book after book. Hell even when he takes on a male lead book he sneaks in a female main character (see Batmans bodyguard and his punisher run)

Will do! Just started vol 1. This first issue is pretty crazy so far. I'm liking it and it seems to hold up well. I am again reminded how comics back in the day always had to either end in an exclamation mark or question mark. Does anyone know when this changed? Heh everyone is very excited in comics back in the day
