Turn off background app refresh, that's a total battery hog especially for twitter and Facebook etc.

It's been off since I downloaded iOS 7 last year

Damn that sucks man. Are you going to get another iPhone? Or you going to wait to see what the battery is like? I would be turned off tbh if the battery continues to be that poor.

I plan to get whatever phone Apple announces tomorrow. I'm actually on 1 year phone plans. I should have just replaced my iPhone 5 with a 5S last year. Lesson learned. I think age has deteriorated the battery since it's almost 2 years old, coupled with iOS being crap

Apple is getting ready to give the software away for free in a week or two. They don't release it to the public to cover themselves in case they find some unforeseen huge bug. Of course if you install it early it is at your own risk. Nothing about that make it "not legitimate". And Apple themselves don't care if you download it early. They do nothing to stop it.

Your logic doesn't make sense but whatever, go ahead and download it if you want.

Yup. This is only for like the first couple of weeks when supply is fresh. After a while they have the refurbished units. I had to do this three times with my iPad 3. I kept getting units with dead pixels. It may be bad luck on my part, but I don't think I've ever bought a new iPhone without any screen defects. It's always something.

Also, you guys think the hype for the event tomorrow is like when Nintendo releases a megaton on E3? :P

I can't remember a time when Nintendo did that, it's been so long :(

I've pretty much given up on any improved battery expectations since they're usually bullshit and I use maps a lot so my battery evaporates in 3 hours.

Thank you slim mobile batteries, though. Don't really care about improvements anymore.

Idk, bayo 2, zelda u, smash (always smash) were pretty fucking hype. Nintendo be dropping bob-ombs like nobodys business but now their sprinkling them throughout the year rather than blowing their load at E3.

Lol true, anything Zelda related is usually a megaton for me. XD

I won't lie though, when Apple announced the iPad for the first time. I honestly did not get the appeal. It was something I didn't understand until I managed to try out for myself for the first time. If the supposed iWatch gets released, I think a lot of us will feel that way.

I replaced my iPhone 5 battery last month using the $30 kit from iFixIt. Very easy installation, and it's been working like an absolute champ since. Before, my battery life was so bad that I'd be down to 25 or 30 percent by noon even with the lightest use.

I had been kicking around upgrading to the 6 earlier this year, but now... not so sure. My phone is really working fine for me as is.

I'm still in the camp that believes that the wearable (if it exists) isn't what we have been led to believe (e.g. watch form factor, phone assistant, ect).

If it does exist I predict it will follow the "iP" prefix of their mobile devices.

Edit:
It didn't occur to me that they can step away from their traditional naming convention via the Beats brand. Hmm...

There is a zero chance of iPads tomorrow, right?

That's the things I want to replace, as I have a iPad 1 that crashes even if I open a comic now

There was a rumour that iPads might be there. That would be a first for apple.
Well, I really hope there's a first time for everything. To be honest, unless the iPhone 6 is a major turning point/upgrade from the 5S, I can wait for the next big phone. But I really want an iPad, so I'm hoping it's there.

They already have the new iPhones and then the watch to cover. I don't know if they will even have time for ipads unless they just go over them quickly.

Is this the first time since the iPad 1 that we are going to see new Apple Hardware without nary a hint or glimpse of what it will look or function like before the announcement? That's kinda a big deal to me, I'm just fascinated with the success of keeping everything related to the wearable under lock.

Simple: it's not currently being mass produced in China.

If I remember correctly even for the iPad we got a glimpse of the Maps app with the hardware in a lockbox/cover a few hours before that initial reveal. But otherwise yes.

Yeah, I have some hope, but I think I will be waiting until November. I will 100% buying the next iPad though - unless they seriously fuck the product line up in some way.

If you're still using an iPad 1, there is no way they can screw up the product line in a way you wouldn't be stepping up significantly. Heck, the iPad Air that's on sale right now is pretty excellent.

Oh my, this whole thing has reached a nice fever pitch.

So is the consensus that the 5.5 version won't be available until late this year or next?

There was a report earlier today saying that both phones will be released the same day. Don't know how credible that information is so take it with a grain of salt.

Oh shit now gruber's dropping hints. Hype overload
That sure as shit can’t be a reference to bigger iPhones, and it doesn’t sound like a watch that counts your steps and shows you notifications as they come in.

A lot of reports are saying they will release at the same time.

It just makes sense. Apple would rather have an extremely low stock/out of stock of a new product rather than waiting a long time to ship it out.

It builds hype and they can cry 'supply & demand' to the media.

Oh shit now gruber's dropping hints. Hype overload

So iWatch lol.

Just saw this.

He has stated many times before that he has no foreknowledge if the events. Just saying this doesn't line up with what people are expecting. Doesn't mean it is a hint.
