Be prepared for a lot of montages about how successful their products are -_-
So it's like any presentation any company gives?

The good thing, though, is that Apple puts people on stage who have some presence and stage awareness. It's typically not a cringe-worthy sight like so many other companies.

Truth. Apple presentations are very well done and entertaining to watch. Compare it to the shit companies like Samsung do (that galaxy note 4 keynote last week was a cringe worthy abomination) and they are leagues above. Plus it comes off a lot more natural and less robotic than other keynotes.

Heavily optimizing their hardware for their software better than anyone else, so you don't have to worry about whats inside your phone?

I'm not worried for their software, I'm worried for the software of app makers. 2gb world make things a lot more versatile for them.

So... what does this mean? An A8 with both memory configurations, indicating possible 1GB for the 4.7 and 2GB for the master race?

Just fake it on chrome
As it specifically mentions OS X I wonder if that will be possible.

So I can't start the video stream using my standard Google Chrome browser?
Nope.

So, can I watch the stream on a PC with Internet Explorer?
OK, now that's trolling. :p

Any suggestions for a good play-by-play site? Non-streaming.
Plenty in the OP!

It's still boring as can be for the first twenty minutes. Everyone complains every year, too, as if we all shouldn't know by now. This is why I only half pay attention to a liveblog.

Would help a lot with the more graphically intensive games we are seeing now too, especially since they tout iOS gaming as a big thing (inviting epic and ea on stage etc).

I don't complain, I just never make it past the boring stuff before turning off! Will be on the Apple TV while I'm putting up furniture this year, I'm determined to see it through.

I saw this mentioned in a rumor post ih8snow retweeted today as well. The pro-small phone crowd is going to lose their shit if this actually turns out to be true. Perhaps the larger battery of the 5.5 makes them more comfortable with the idea of 2GB on a phone?

Wouldn't surprise me.

That would be awful though.

Honestly if there's no fix for the bad multitasking in the 4.7 I see no reason to upgrade. That's my biggest issue with the iPhone and it trumps the bigger screen size.

Just... Please make 32gb the base storage (I know its not happening but still). £550 for 16gb is Cray, I know all the android flagships have 16gb as the base too (including the upcoming z3 which also costs £550) but at least they have a microsd slot, which makes a big difference.

Why does Apple require their own software (and by extension hardware) to watch their live streams? I know there are work arounds but I've never understood their thought process on this.

What is the 5.5 has 2 gigs but has worse battery than the 4.7 with 1 gig?!?!

Imagine the HUMANITY? D:

I actually would go to the 4.7. As someone that has been wanting a 5.5 for a while now, I couldn't take a hit on the battery. Nope. These phones are already bad with that.

Guys, I don't have a Mac, where can I watch the livestream?

Sorry if I link any website I shouldn't - please PM me so I can edit my post.
(You can watch the live stream from any Mac, iPad, iPod (I think?) and iPhone.

I don't know if anyone will have mirror streams up, but you might be able to find those on Twitter Search once it has started.

Still only a rumour or possibly on one model. Still holding out hope for 2GB.

I think if I do indeed get an iPhone 6, it will be the 5.5" model anyways.

But isn't there a time when developers will want more RAM? Isn't that time now considering many other phones on the market have it?

*Passes out beer and pop to every member of the RDF*

What are we expecting today? I'll be at work because I have to pay bills. However, I need this phone to at least have 2 GB of RAM. Watch their excuse reference 64 bit and the lack of need to use over 1 GB of RAM this early.

Will it take one year for developers to start implementing Swift and Metal?

NFC isn't a need for me. Give me a screen resolution on par with the LG G3. Apple skipped 1080p so they better have a good excuse.

I change my previous prediction of Apple not selling 70 million handsets. If this phone comes in 4.7 and 5.5 variants then it is possible that Apple sells 70 million handsets.

*EDIT*

The Anandtech benchmarks need to be at least 2.5 to 4 times higher than the iPhone 5 for me to even consider this phone. Erica Griffin's review cannot have more than 3 negative things to say about this phone. If there is a 128 GB option it better not cost $1700+ off contract. These phones cannot cost more than $320 to make.

Pretty sure it's 1gb man. :( So many rumors point to it, and the latest benchmark stuff kind of seals it. Now the 5.5 is still an unknown (ram wise).

Still got my iPhone 4 I got a few weeks after launch. It still actually works really well, although the home button is starting to have issues.

Probably about time for an upgrade though.
I turned on my four-year-old iPhone 4 last week for the first time in almost two years. The home button is definitely losing its input responsiveness.

Oddly enough, my six-year-old 3G still works a little better.
Would you guys really buy a smart watch?
I have no interest in a watches, "i" or otherwise.

I know the OS is, but multitasking is already a bitch, along with reloading browser tabs and just some nicer specs to push more ambitious apps and games would be nice.

While it would, and I would welcome more RAM or resolution or whatever - the entire OS is built around apps not taking up much memory or CPU or battery consumption. Apple has its own priorities for user experience and maintaining performance and they rarely ship devices (ANY devices, even Macs) with more RAM than the minimum they think it needs (like the iPod touches, which previously have had even worse RAM than the phones).
