Is there really no way to watch this live if you don't have a Mac with Safari?

Never watched one before, but am probably jumping from Android to iOS come my upgrade in November, and wanted to watch.

I don't know how I am supposed to open the stream in VLC, it seems to be doing nothing at all. Guess I'm gonna have to watch it on my phone after all. Not too bad still.

Select Media>Open Network Stream and paste the url stream into the box and press "Play".

Got the stream working, but I still don't get why they keep it exclusive to Safari. It doesn't make sense, wouldn't Apple want this to be shown anyone who has a computer.
