Also with RNGesus I don't get so upset when I get crushed in multi, and way less people quit when down.

I am guessing WoW style where you clear a boss and it saves?
You need 20 to hit 21. Then 12 more to hit 22. Beyond that, it's 11 additional light per light-level.
Interesting...I'll try this out. Think it'll be viable to do this strategy for the "complete 5 strikes without dying" bounty?
PVP is awesome. You just need the right weapon, i.e. an autorifle that doesn't suck balls, a shotgun for the small maps, and a heavy machine gun with high stability to rip people to shreds with.

There doesn't seem to be a consensus amongst gamers. Personally, I'd rate it a 7. It's a very, very solid core wrapped in a thick layer of impressively poor decisions. A player (or reviewer's) ability to enjoy the game depends entirely on how well they're able to ignore those decisions. For some, it's absolutely a 6/10, and that's the score they gave.
Well......if everybody knows it and sticks to it... but you never know, things can go wrong! It's still a tough strike even with the relatively safe strat.
With that bounty I'd honestly just do the legit level 8 earth strike 5 times, with other stuff in between so I didn't go completely numb.
Crazy bounty. What's the reward for it?

There's a tiny random chance from lots of things like strike or crucible rewards, or a public event gold tier complete (not just the daily mail reward). They can also drop from world chests. You can finally get them from dismantling legendaries, which is going to be more important than people think.
Hmmm... Interesting. For someone who will never have the time to max out weekly marks on more than one character, I'm really curious here. Especially since right now they appear to work just like glimmer (to buy stuff) which is shared. Doubly so since the factions only take crucible marks.
That area where you first spawn in patrol mode has about 3-4 caves that you can rotate around pretty easily, also a few prefab buildings that sometimes have chests or helium deposits sitting around outside. I've also had decent luck collecting chests/helium from that central area just before the little passage to the temple of crota. It's the area with the elevated platform in the center. There's sometimes a chest on top of it, in it, behind the building where the servitor spawns, or in the cave where the servitor spawns from.

I don't think shotgun is op though, it's just the small maps , so perfect for it, especially rumble, shotgun/fusion rifle city
Pretty much. You will get check points whenever you complete an objective. So like in the area with the first boss we got a checkpoint when we cleared the area, did the objective, and got the boss to spawn to fight. So the game give you checkpoints before and after major encounters.
Question about factions - I could be misremembering or misinterpreting, but I turned in a couple Crucible bounties yesterday and it seemed to give reputation gains to New Monarchy (I was wearing a New Monarchy cloak), but I don't believe it increased my Crucible rank. Does wearing items that boost gains for a specific faction forfeit Crucible rank gains? Could have been mistaken and maybe I got points for both, not sure.

Another question. Last night at light level 21 I turned in some bounties and I ticked up to light level 22. I thought light levels were purely from gear attributes - is there something else?
haha I was thinking of doing the easiest level of Devil's lair like you said, but go AFK or stay in the first area farming while my two teammates (who'd be as overleveled as I am) go and do everything.
It's an exotic weapon bounty. I dunno what the reward is unfortunately.

X-Frame and myself here from GAF are looking for 4 others for most likely a Saturday group to do the Raid from scratch.
We would ideally like nothing but Titan and Warlocks. (Sorry Hunters...your supers don't seem as awesome to help in success in a raid compared to the shield and auto revive)

I'm not sure if anyone knows yet... I've been farming Skywatch caves on Patrol (Level 4) in Earth. I've gotten several legendaries, blues, greens, etc. Most of the greens/blues are item level 15-19. Out of all the legendary engrams I've decoded, I've gotten a legendary heavy weapon and a helm (level 20). The rest were ascended shards or strange coins.

Ahhh thats nice. Have they said anything about how it saves for players? Are players locked to that team's Raid or can they join another one?
If you leveled up your lifht gear after turning in bounties that is what did it. Each time you level the gears defence you get more points.

Yes, you forfeit Crucible rank.
Fully upgraded gear gets a slight increase in light points.

All rep is converted to faction rep, so you're right. You won't level up either vanguard or crucible while wearing faction stuff.
We still haven't and we had the help of someone who already got to the second boss. He was telling us what to do but even with his help, we still couldn't beat the boss.
It was total carnage! We were massacred before we could even throw our shields up!

If you wear a faction cloak all vanguard and crucible rep goes to the faction instead.
Upgrading the armors defense can increase the Light stat on the armor, but I think it depends on the armors level and base stats to begin with. I've noticed the most increase on legendary pieces, but I have seen rare pieces increase.

Oh, well fair enough, I was just thinking that- not that you'd MAX on more than one character, but if you hit the cap on one, you could keep earning on the other.
Armor is limited, but weapons you could buy on any character and give to any other. It might very well be shared though, not sure.
OOoh. Well if you tell me the name of the quest I can tell you the exotic weapon it's leading you to

Do the weekly heroic strikes scale with player count? Me and two other guys kept getting killed, and when one of us left me and the other guy beat the boss in one go. :lol
You just gotta hide in corners and use shotguns, it works surprising well from what I hear lol
But nah, you can take a fireteam into rumble, and do bounties and stuff there. It's very good for that sort of stuff.
Rumble and Skirmish never last more than 7 minutes for me. Rumble has a 2500 point limit, and with everyone busy shooting at each other and not paying attention to their surroundings, people rack up kills like mad. Skirmish is a 3v3 version of clash, with a 5000 point limit and one team will nearly always dominate, decreasing the length of matches significantly.
Yeah, Rumble isn't very good for marks, unless you use the hide in corner+shotgun combo for easy kills, but the difference in winning and losing is one mark, so Rumble may be the best mode in the long run due to the short nature of the games.
All upgrades on items with light increase the amount of light you get from that item.
That is the only way to get more levels after 20.
Agreed completely, though I'd even give the game a 8.5 to 9.0. It's a very solid FPS. The story is weak / cheesy, but since when has that absolutely killed a multiplayer centric FPS? I think too many reviewers are punishing it due to the hype and budget or what they thought the game was going to be, rather than what it actually is.
Also, I think it's fair to look at what reviewers scored other recent FPS games. Just one example...gamespot gave COD Ghost an 8. An EIGHT...for a screen tearing mess on current gen that recycled the same 10+ year old engine and called it "next gen". I've played the hell out of every COD since MW2 and this one was pure garbage.
Then look at BF4 which was absolutely broken for weeks after launch, and still had game breaking bugs until MARCH! I love the BF games and played the hell out of this one too in spite of the problems...but if it gets an 85 on metacritic after being the broken mess that it was, then Destiny deserves a lot better than what it's getting. The game is polished and does what it does well. The story is weak, like many other FPS, and there are arguably improvements that could be made to balance, like many FPS.
Cool beans. I forgot the name. I'm at work so I'm not on Destiny atm. I had to talk to Ikora Rey, the Warlock Vanguard lady, though if that helps.
I believe it saves to the fireteam leader but we had issues when we tried to resume. When we tried to start again it resumed us from the start but when I switched to fireteam leader it put us back at our checkpoint. So idk why it was all out of whack.
Speaking of which, does anyone else think Bungie needs to adjust the winning scores in PVP? Most of my games end with a time over.

Yup. I was stuck on level 23 for a while, till I realized upgrading armor increased light level. Now I'm a hair away from level 25

Each armor piece except helm is 65, so 65x3 = 195 in two weeks. I'm just waiting for Xur to see if he has gauntlets or helm before buying my third piece. Then from next week I can concentrate on weapons.
Technically. But you're at the mercy of RNG funk again.
Personally I seem to get strange coins, like, I dunno, they just come to me. occasional pvp, strike, public event, chests, etc. I haven't tried to farm for them, and I think I have 21 or something now.
More importantly, the shorter match length results in more loot rolls per hour from a higher number of match completes. Even losing, you'll get more total stuff from a session in the Crucible doing Rumble than anything else, and you don't have to worry about contributing to your team. If you're just trying to "farm" PvP, Rumble is the only option IMO.
I still think the AR is one of the best weapons all-around (for PvE and PvP). If you're accurate you can keep constant critical hit DPS on mobs for a decent amount of time. It is also forgiving to aiming mistakes.
Scout rifles are my second personal favorite for PvE and PvP because of their high critical damage but require you to be very accurate to be rewarded. Hand cannons are a close second but because of their small clip size I find that unless I can get a fast reload speed, they aren't that great in the higher level strikes because of the slower DPS.
Personally, I'm not a big fan of the pulse rifle at all, I used the "Strangers Gun" for quite some time and found it to be pretty good until I got to around level 22+ when the higher damage on my AR made me make the switch.
You cannot go wrong with an Auto Rifle in this game honestly.
I use Handcannons for PvE, but only for PvE. Auto Rifles for PvP, but again, Auto Rifles work for both.
