Looking for one more for a normal difficulty raid, starting ASAP, on ps4. This will be first time for most of us to complete. PM me your level and psn and I'll send a request out.

You seriously over-estimate the abilities of the average player. As of right now.. only 2.8% of the PS4 player base has completed the Raid. And the strats have been known for 2 weeks.
How many have even tried? Most don't have sufficient gear or have enough friends to do the raid with.

Can I do nightfall at 27 or should I really try to be 28? I really want to try it but don't want to burden a group if 27 is too low

To be fair I think that number would be MUCH larger if they didn't require you to have a preset raid team. Again - i understand that having a well coordinated group of 6 people all motivated properly and working together is ideal... but i would love to get into the raid and try my hand at it but simply can't because I normally don't start playing till i'm off work at 12:00 at night and almost everyone in my normal friends list is done for the day.

It might be a clusterfuck and you might not beat it but why not let people at least fucking try?? I'm locked out of a substantial portion of the end game because.... reasons.

edit: And what exactly would it hurt the people who don't want matchmaking in the raid? If you've got a group .. huzzah!.. don't raid with randoms.

knowing what to do in the raid and executing it are two completely different things. you're also at the mercy of glitches and erratic enemy behavior.

the raid requires proper gear, communication, and flawless execution. the number of mistakes you can make is generous at the beginning and then dwindles down to about zero during the final boss. something as simple as missing a single shot, being an inch off where you're supposed to be or even shooting the wrong enemy can cause a wipe.

Plenty of people have sufficient gear. Certainly a lot more of 2.8%. Go through the trophy/GS stats and look at how low a lot of these achievements are in percentages. Then go look at all the other trophy/GS stats and see how few people even complete much easier SP games.

The average player of any given game is not very skilled. It's not an insult to those that aren't and it's not a boast of those who are. It's just a fact of the genre and of people's playing habits.

Yes

Aren't we all strangers to one another? :P

Then again, we make our groups ahead of time so...

I just watched a video of a group doing atheon hard. They were all 29s and they killed him in 4 portal runs. Everyone went to the center and it looked like they all shot the boss and nobody worried about supplicants during that phase. The relic holder stood at the red dot, which is where I was standing at first. If they got ported to jungle, the relic holder would pick up the shield, drop it near the top of the stairs, and fire 2 rockets at the mobs downstairs, then pick it back up. I actually thought about that, but it was grenades instead.

yea we need more rockets on those adds. golden gun with combustion can one shot the hob goblins if you hit their gut. the minotaurs need rockets. at 29, it's too risky to get the shield guy up in their face. if my rocket hits the wrong guy or doesn't do enough damage, the shield guy would take too many hits from the adds, die and we'd wipe. and that usually happens before i can pop another heavy consumable...

Interesting. How far has your group made it on hard? All the way to Atheon?

I would love to get a group together and try hard mode tonight if people here are interested. This way I could learn the Templar cheesing as well.

There's a safe spot in the boss room that you could probably solo him with if you bring a lot of patience and ammo synth. With at least one other strong player it's cake. But it's arc burn so bring an arc sniper to take out the tank, and bring a void weapon for the psi guys.

That is a complete exaggeration. We had people dying left and right and we still beat Atheon.

My current one is at Atheon, but I've already cleared it.

first time ever doin the Raid and as expected... its really a damn slog and just not worth it... it should be a guaranteed Exotic weapon once completed.. just the thought of wasting hours and only gettin Ass Shards or something would make be RAGE.... Sorry DekuBleep and others... I sadly dont have good enough weaps and armor yet... 60+ hours and only have 3 maxxed out auto rifles.. ;__; and after seeing Hawkins post about exotics taking A shit loud more exp to max.. :( DEEM bungle way make this game such a fucking grind...

Leveled my 2nd Warlock to 20 today, got weekly Heroic, Nightfall and Raid. Just in 1 day I got MIDA Multi-Tool, Vision of Confluence, Found Verdict and Fragment of Prime.

Not too bad, leveling 2nd Warlock was the best decision I made in last week with Destiny, since last 3 raids I got only shards from my main in Raid. Still would like to get some raid armor...

Yeah, next time we group up I'll try the rocket thing.

should have gone back a few OTs

Damn, so I'm hella late to this party then

Wow. Thanks for sharing that. Whoever he is, his explanations are interesting and plausible.

Honestly not surprised fake or not. Lots of stuff was cut from this game. Just from watching old trailers.

Reading this got me, very sad about the game. Seeing how the original vision was changed like that. And even if that dude was lying, there's one thing we all who have played the game can 100% agree on, somewhere, the development changed drastically.

It kinds of put me into this situation where, Im not happy with the changed direction of the games development, so i'm feeling like not supporting it by not buying the dlc to show them im not happy with it, but on the flip side, if I do that and the sales are poor, then that means no more destiny.

But

If i show my support of the game by buying the dlc, then thats telling the publisher that the way the game development went was "ok" and acceptable to take out content that was in the game originally and sell it as dlc later. And I hate that business model. Dont nickel and dime me.

So at this point, im not sure what to do. I like the game, the moment to moment gameplay is solid, but on the flip side, there's a lot of things I have a problem with.

So ima just wait and see what happens.

Clearly the problem was not enough Titans in your group. :p

i think we had two gunslingers, two sunsingers and two titans. i know one was a defender but not sure about the other.

makeup is good. our gear probably needed work but everything after that is just a matter of execution.

I was just teasing, lol.

Trying to self promote :p

Although wasn't there some group on here that straight up banned hunters from ther group?

It will take a long time if it's everyone's first time through. It gets a lot faster though the more you do it.

Our group's clears went like this:

1st time - 7 hours
2nd time - 3ish hours
3rd time - 53 minutes

There's a learning curve at first. Don't let it get you down. Once you get a couple better pieces of raid gear your level will go up as well and make it easier.

Bungie adding MM means its a viable way to complete the raid when in reality it is not. People complain, claim how unfair it is and with this in mind Bungie either

A) Removes MM again

or

B) Makes future raids less team-work oriented and more random friendly which smacks the people who took the time to find 5 like minded players to do it in the first place.

Lose lose either way.

Ah ok. Any recommended video I watch to see the Templar boss fight? What strategy did you run?

For the boss himself, we cheesed him from the left platform. Before that, defending the confluxes is just about staying alive. Whenever it says the templar is summoning its legions, jump onto the outer platforms and pick off fanatics from there. For the oracles, you can kill them all except one from the different spots at the spawn point. The back left one in that hall next to the boss has to be taken out by someone that goes to the very last outer platform on the left side. If they do enough damage, they can do it alone, but you could also send two people to the platform to take it out. The 2nd person can help take out that oracle, but can still hit others that spawn on the left side.

I have shit luck with RNG.

Having already received 4 "The Comedians" (legendary shotguns) I enter the raid telling the others I had 3 of them with me.
Second Loot chest I get "Found Verdict" yet another Shotgun.
At least this has auto fire.

I still don't have a legendary Primary.

Nevermind saw they found someone....so if anyone wants to run it on normal on xbox one I have never done it before and really want to try it out.

edit: I'm a level 25

Is there a reason why I keep getting the legendary chest piece whenever I do a queen's mission? I have 4 so far. Is my luck bad or am I doing it wrong.

or

C) Bungie says "too bad" to MM players that complain. They're telling MM players that want MM "too bad". Why not just do it and ignore the other whiners?

If anyone is interested in the Raid and never done it, make sure to check a guide for the last boss. It makes things easier to understand so less retries.

I wouldn't be much higher at all. It might be higher but not by much.

The issues with just letting people "fucking try" is that a lot of people who can not beat hard content immediately call for nerfs. We've already seen it in the amount of people who call Destiny's strike bosses "bullet sponges," which they are not by any means.

I understand that specific people have trouble getting groups together and that's an unfortunate side effect of Bungie's decision but we live in an age where the Internet makes finding people to game with incredibly easy. You can find people in-game and out of game. Use Bungie.net or dozens of other websites and forums. I constantly see people getting groups together here on Gaf with other people that they don't know at all outside of all of them being a member of this very forum.

And I don't have to be "hurt" personally by a requested feature to disagree with the request.

Again, most people do not have 5 other friends to do this raid right. The only reason I've done them is I get invited by Internet people. The 2.8 percentage is useless unless you have a number of people that have tried the raid at a appropriate level.

You don't even need to be friends with 5 other people. Just be willing to group with people and be willing to work together and not flip out on others for making mistakes because mistakes will be made and there will be wipes. That's all you need to be able to attempt the raid.
