Here are some extra info that I thought might be useful to those that are trying to gear up efficiently:
- Level 20 blues are able to take you to level 24 and a half when fully upgraded.
- Best chance at level 20 blues is to do level 24 strike playlist. The lower level playlists will normally award level 17-19 gear.
- At that point, one legendary upgrade can bring you to level 25. You can then group up for the 9 strange coin weekly run, preferably with a higher level player to make it go smoothly.
- It is best to concentrate on the guaranteed way to get legendary armor than trying to roll dice in pvp/pve. If you can get rank 2 vanguard or crucible, you can use the 200 marks for three pieces of legendary armor.
- Use your shards for exotic and raid gear only. I don't recommend upgrading normal legendary gear beyond 22 light as it's a waste of shards. 22 light in four slots puts you at level 27, which is plenty until you get raid gear.
- The only time I'd use shards to upgrade non raid/exotic gear is if it pushes me over to level 29 so I can do heroic raid.
- Keep special/heavy weapons of each element for PVE. I personally carry 3 sniper rifles, 3 fusion rifles, and 3 rocket launchers to deal with nightfall heroics easily.
- When comparing weapons, one being legendary does not necessarily mean that it's better. My blue high impact sniper rifle is much better for Atheon than my legendary fusion rifle with low range.

It should give something decent after the first completion, to encourage people to help others clear it. Personally I find it to be such a tedious pain in the ass that once I'm done with it my incentive to go back in it is pretty damn low.

I had done that a number of times (solo) but it kept giving me the same one. Oh well, last day to use my tokens so I guess I'm all in at this point. Will try in a bit when I get home. RIKSIS, HERE I COME. AGAIN AND AGAIN.
Would love to grab some of the hard mode loot but iam only a mid 28
IMO there's no way a 28 should do it. It would just prevent the group from completing it

Glow would be a misnomer. It's more like a gold outline for the box that flashes.
In the beta it was fun, don't think I will compete in this though..
My bad, I wasn't saying that it DOES give something good, but rather suggesting that it SHOULD. I don't think it presently is worth doing more than once, but I could be wrong. Sorry for the confusion!

Big shout out to the guy who matchmade in Skirmish and proceeded to camp in the back of the map with a sniper rifle. Those 285 points were such a massive help.

There's a skirmish bounty. he was probably just trying to complete it but still it would be more fun to actually play it..
My friends and I are in this awkward spot with the raid where we can beat the normal mode in about 45 minutes with only a couple of us dying and it's sort of starting to bore us, but we get absolutely destroyed in hard mode. Guess we're gonna have to farm normal until all of us are at least 29.

Same, had one purple engram from Rahool, at the postmaster. It was ass shards I can't use. I've been stuck at 24 for over a week. Can't even buy any purple stuff because my ranks aren't high enough.
Basically I think that's the problem. People will be almost 1 shotted and doing hardly any damage at 28. overlevelled for regular and underlevelled for hard.

You can revive teammates but if you all die the entire party gets sent back to orbit.
